We've been getting ready for the kids' state competition with the One-Act Play. We have to leave town this afternoon for an early morning start. There ain't no good way to get to Albany, GA from Bellville, either.

Moving is a lot of work, but a new place is always cool. Will it be a lot different from where you are living now?

Yes, it is! We've done quite a bit of it in the last 10 years.

Well, we are renting right now.

I think we are leaning to a custom build home. It will be a similar size, and in a nice single family neighborhood, with walking and biking trails. We walked the neighborhood and talked to homeowners in the development, to see how it was working with the company, and if they were impressed with the quality. And they love theirs, so it was reassuring and got us excited!

Good morning, everyone!

It's a beautiful day in Ottawa. Temperatures are around the mid single digits/low 40s without much wind. The sun is shining. It truly is a mid-November Day... Mid-November? I mean, an early Christmas Season day.

I've been busy the past few days. Yesterday, I thought I would have a break and be able to post while teaching. Instead, I had a couple extra periods for teaching and did not get my break at all. I hope everyone had a great start to their first full week of the Christmas Season.

Today has been a decent day thus far. I was finally able to put my Christmas music on my iPod last night. This allowed me to finally start my day off right. The 30 minutes of Christmas music while driving is the perfect way to start a day. I had missed it since last year. Of course, I listened to plenty of my favourite Christmas songs on the weekend, but this was the first in my car.

Well, it's another busy night tonight. I have competitive dodgeball, which is super fun at 7:30, then I have a very late game of hockey at 11:15pm. I like hockey, but that is way too late for anything that does not involve my head on my pillow.

I have no work yet for tomorrow. We'll see how it goes. I really want to get at least four days in this week. As of right now, I only have three.

Unfortunately my supervisor said no gift cards...but today she came in and said she has no idea what to get so she mentioned us each making a short list to give ideas.

The short list is a great idea. The spending limit is quite high so that should make choices quite flexible. I agree with your supervisor. Cash or a voucher defeats the purpose of a gift exchange. I am not against them and they certainly have a place for various occasions but on Christmas it's nice to spare a thought isn't it. Good luck!

Good morning, all! Well! I received my first Christmas card yesterday (thanks, Maureen!)! I was so happy to get it, and it's sitting in a place of honor on my mantel until I get a few minutes to decorate my kitchen arch. That's where my cards usually go, they look so festive there!

I got my first one from Maureen also yesterday! Beyond excited when I saw that in my mailbox. Now to get my butt in gear and get mine out. Thank you Maureen, with my issue hanging over me, that was a much needed boost for me!

We've really been weighing our options-initially we wanted an older home with character. We still do, but unfortunately, the ones available in our price point, are either too small or require too much work. We were hoping to find something under budget, where it had enough square footage but was also ready to move into, that we could slowly update. And that's just not where the market is right now $.
So, it's either too small of a home, or big enough and new.
We recently found a contractor that is building custom twin homes, and we had never really considered going that route. They are right where we need them to be, and we are excited to design it and make it our own.

Another milestone has crept up on me ... the weekend before Thanksgiving, I usually visit a local garden center that is chock-full of ornament-laden Christmas trees, lights, villages, figurines, stockings, mugs, garlands, and all things Christmas, just to get into the spirit!

I haven't been on skates for a few years. I miss my son playing hockey and being on the ice with him. But I would have to agree that 11:15pm is quite late for a game...especially after dodgeball. Good Morning, MMC!!!!! It's going to be a rainy day here but that's okay. At least I don't have to shovel it!!! Speaking of which, that dreaded S word is in the forecast for saturday night. Doesn't sound like it will be very much though so that's okay. Not to much going on today. I've had my youngest niece since yesterday morning. She has pneumonia and had to stay off of school yesterday and today. So I'll just be hanging out with her until her mom picks her up this afternoon. Then I need to run to the store to pick up a few things for Thanksgiving before they go off of sale. Praying for all of you. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!

I would love a custom build home, that would be a dream come true but it's not an option here. It's very very rare and probably more in the country. If you want to do any modification to your house here even an extension or conservatory you have to apply to your council and have it approved . UGH!

I think it sounds like you all are heading in the right direction. You can really make it your home by designing how you want it! So exciting Stacey!
