Gloria e-mailed that they will be showing the first movie she starred in, "The Under-Pup," at the hospital today! (She's in the hospital recovering from a fall that broke four ribs.) I'm so excited for her! I know everyone will be blown away by her performance in the film---there will be a room full of Gloria Jean fans before it's over!
Let's meet up next year and celebrate together!Good evening all
Was supposed to be in Germany now but the surgeon advised me not to fly so soon after my operation so no Christmas Markets for me this year. Stuck in Ireland :-/
Hope you are all well
Please stop blinking!Good Saturday Morning MMC! The last weekend before Christmas. How did that happen? Where has the time gone? Where has the Christmas season been going? Heck where's the year gone? But enough questions...how about some answers to how excited am I? Pretty much like a kid around Christmas time. I think that's one thing we love about Christmas though is we still feel like we are kids when it comes. It's awesome that we are so close. I have a lot to do this last weekend before Christmas. I am really caught up on my wrapping and happy about it but I need to get a bunch of food for Christmas Eve dinner still. I'm going to try to knock out most of that today. Oh and I watch The Santa Claus 1 last night and it was awesome. I will watch the 2nd today.
I hope you all have a great last Saturday before ya know...Santa is getting ready!
Have a lovely time with your MIL! Enjoy your weekendI'll be going to my MIL in Groningen this weekend so won't be here till tomorrow evening.
Wish you all a great weekend!

Good morning, BrentGood morning, everyone,
I had this date circled on my calendar since last Christmas. Today was to be the date that Kim and I would drive 9 hours to Sault Ste. Marie, where we would actually celebrate our first Christmas together. We've spent each since 2006 with our families. Unfortunately, our plans have changed, at least until Wednesday.
Kim's grandfather passed away late Wednesday night/early Thursday evening. He had plenty of health problems in his final year. He had been in the hospital since August. In the end, it was pneumonia that got him. He was 88 years old. He was an incredibly, genuine man. I'll miss him, too. Kim's family is taking it pretty hard. She has never really experienced the loss of a family member, so it will be tough for everyone, especially her.
Right now, she's in Cornwall. I will be joining her and her family tomorrow afternoon. It will be a difficult few days. I am an emotional person and not very good at funerals, but I can only hope to be strong enough for Kim. I'm not religious, but I know that her grandfather is now in a better place. He's no longer suffering and rejoicing with his family and friends that left him years ago.
Sorry for my absence the past few days. I have been incredibly busy with teaching and doing sports. Then, everything took a major turn on Wednesday, when I had expected the week to slow down, it picked up - and not for the better. Either way, Kim and I are still excited to drive to the Sault on Wednesday now. Until then, however, we have to focus on saying thank you to grandfather.
I hope you all have had a wonderful final full week before Christmas. The Season remains magical. Merry Christmas!
Good morning, Brent

So much to do....
And on a side note, it is December 19th & my hubby is out raking leaves!!! How does that happen?? But we did see a little (very little) snow yesterday! At least the flakes were big!
We had a great time at our neighborhood house hopping last night. Rolled in at 3:30 am! Amazing how fast time fly's when you're having fun! All the food & drink were delicious! We both slept in today (Gracie too - she had a big night with all them people over)
So today I talked to Mom this morning (she called EARLY this morning - really??? We didn't get to bed til 3:30 LOL) She said she had no plans for today - so I put on my thinking cap - and now she is coming over shortly to help me make homemade spaghetti sauce for our Christmas Eve Smokehouse spaghetti & since the sun is shining we will make a couple batches of peanut brittle too! Looking forward too it. I'm hoping I can talk her into staying for supper (or coming back later) & watching Polar Express 3D!
Have a super awesome Merry Happy Jolly Christmassy Saturday friends! And Gracie wishes you the same....
Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas! (photo from her groomer)

Thanks Crown. Inside a week till the big day!** CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY 37 **
Good Morning, Final Weekenders.
Believe it or not, it's true. We have arrived at and commenced the VERY LAST WEEKEND before Christmas Day 2015.
Not only that, but we have also moved INSIDE one week to go to that auspicious day!
Days to Christmas Day: 6
(Wow, Folks. Just WOW!)
Chilly yesterday.
Downright frigid this morning, where we stand just under 32 degrees here at this hour in the capital city.
At least it's sunny with no rain in sight for the next several days.
Have a Sensational Saturday, Everybody!
And really do your best to enjoy this last weekend before the Day.
Sorry to hear that Brent. It is tough to lose a family member and even tougher during the holidays. I know what you mean about not being good with funerals. I am really terrible with them. Not that I cry or make a scene or anything...just that I'm very reserved and unsure how to handle them. I'm just not good with them and I really dislike going to them. In fact I almost didn't go to my grandmother's in 2009...but I decided to at the last moment. But yeah I really just am no good at dealing with them. God bless you and Kim. I hope you both will get through this trying time together and realize that her grandfather would want you to both have a great Christmas after you go through these difficult few days.Good morning, everyone,
