After some busy and frustrating days, it is really nice to be able to come here and see the Christmas spirit abound!

Today wasn't the greatest day for me (but not too bad). I can't complain because Mon, Tues and Wed basically were great days at work. I agree though after a frustrating day or situation coming to MMC certainly makes me feel better.

So how is everyone today? I got a question for our bakers on here .. has anyone made a pumpkin pie using whole milk or heavy cream instead of evaporated milk? Later this month I am thinking about cooking a turkey breast and I want to make a pumpkin pie. I have always made my with evaporated milk but I want to experiment a bit.

make mine with heavy cream and it is better than with the evaporated milk
3/4 cup brown sugar
5 eggs
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp salt
1 can or 2 cups of pumpkin
1 cup heavy cream
mix well together then
pour in crust then cover crust with foil for first 30 min of baking, then remove for last 10 to 20 min
bake 325' for total of 40 to 50 min till firm

My question is - was it a course in dealing with customers who are angry, or for you dealing with your own moments of customer rage? Like 'Road rage." Sometimes I am mystified by the level of restraint and calm some people are expected to demonstrate while someone is screaming at them about something ridiculous, just because the screamer is a 'customer.'

I watched a manager at Save A Lot smile patiently while some outraged woman screamed in his face because they were sold out of eggs on Christmas Eve. Because that's surprising? He just smiled and nodded and told her he was very sorry for the inconvenience and he would be happy to give her a rain check for the egg price, but another truck wouldn't be in till December 26th. She just kept yelling and yelling. He kept smiling and nodding. I thought, "Wow - I would have stabbed her with a stick of butter by now."

It is a course dealing with customer rage. Course starts with talking about what work place violence is and what management and workers are expected to do in case it happens, from fellow workers and customers. Then goes into talking about what anger is, physical reactions and emotional. How some rage leads to good things happening. (eg civil rights movement) Then starts into the steps of dealing with rage. That is as far as I am in the course, but so far has been really good.

Har is hanging in. Feeling a little sore I think, wants her space. She does have an infection (that's what the lump is) so we have some antibiotics for the next few weeks.
We really appreciate the prayers.

I am feeling rubbish. This bug has really knocked me BUT I am starting to feel better andi t looks like it's going. I am taking it easy this week.

Mr F and my youngest however are now unwell too. It's just the season for it. They will get to feeling better soon.

Good morning MMC! Happy Friday Eve!!!!

I managed to get the ribs smoked last night. Didn't get to bed til after midnight, but they are smoked! Now, hopefully they taste good. Lots to do today ~ I don't have time for this work thing. Ha ha! All the in-laws are coming over for my MIL's birthday at 6:30....I'm smoking a turkey breast after work, as well as making potatoes & a salad. Oh, & a little cleaning too. Ahhhhh...

Good morning everyone. I'm moving slow today, I just can't shake this migraine. Thankfully there isn't too much going on. I would like to run to Target at some point if I'm feeling up to it. Other than that I'll be working on my daily chores.
My parents were on tv last night, they were interviewed by a news crew when they went to buy their powerball tickets. They were so cute. Can't believe no one won again, I heard the jackpot is going up to 675 million!!!

I bought my one ticket yesterday, I didn't even know the name of the game. I just went to the store and asked for a ticket for the big one. At least they knew which one i meant.
