Come on over! Since this is our 1st real snow of the season here, you might want to move closer to snowflake for more snow!!! ;)

I seen on the news in December when storm frank was about the temperature at the north pole rose to 0...where it normally should be reading -25 -30 for the time of year...I think that says their is something not quite right:confused:
Makes ya wonder!

Temperatures at the North Pole are estimated to have spiked above freezing in a rare December 'heatwave' caused by Storm Frank.

The mercury was forecast to rise above 1°C on Wednesday, in a dramatic and possibly unprecedented rise from the usual deep freeze conditions of close to -30°C at this time of year.

The storm in the North Atlantic that has seen Britain deluged by rain and battered by strong winds has also pushed warm air from the tropics up to the Arctic, causing the highly unusual temporary temperature rise, meteorologists said.

No temperature measurement instruments are operating on the North Pole to provide precise readings, but experts estimated that the mercury may indeed have nudged above zero.

The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said that weather models based on satellite readings "interpreted temperatures above 32°F (0°C) at the North Pole for a brief time".

"As the North Pole is over the Arctic Ocean (which is frozen most of the year), NOAA does not have land-based temperature gauges there," a spokesman added.

Such temperatures would have made the North Pole even warmer than many parts of North America, such as Oklahoma, and comparable with places like Vienna and Istanbul.

Simon King, a BBC forecaster and Met Office meteorologist, tweeted that it was a "bit warm at the North Pole".

"Thanks to Storm Frank, the temperature is a very rare +1°C compared to the average -28°C," he said.

The Met Office said that Storm Frank had "drawn large amounts of warm air north from the tropics across the north Atlantic".

As the storm moved over Iceland it was "pushing warm air ahead of it towards the pole", a spokesman said.

Ryan Maue, a meteorologist at US company Weather Bell, said some datasets suggested temperatures hit 0.7C at the North Pole on Wednesday, although there was a large range of uncertainty.

This would be one of the warmest estimated temperatures on record for the North Pole in winter months.

Bob Henson, a meteorologist at the Weather Underground, said there had only been three instances of above-freezing temperatures at the North Pole in December since 1948.

Weather data from a buoy in the Arctic Ocean to the south of the pole, operated by the North Pole Environmental Observatory, shows temperatures rising sharply during the course of Monday, from around -21°C at midnight to 0.7°C by on Monday night.

James Morison, of NPEO, told Slate he had "never heard of" temperatures above freezing at the North Pole in winter.

Update 31/12/15: After this story was published, James Morison, of the NPEO, responded to an enquiry from the Telegraph, to say the NPEO's own estimate puts peak temperatures in the North pole region at -8.5°C,

He said the buoy closest to the Pole, at 87.5°N, 12°W, shot up from -37°C on the 28th to a maximum of -8.52°C at 3am on the 30th.

He said: "In summary, the forecast warming was qualitatively pretty good even though temperatures at the Pole didn’t reach up to the freezing point. In fairness the forecast front was very sharp so if it didn’t get quite as far north, that would explain temperatures at the Pole being significantly cooler than forecast."

I tried to take a video of Gracie running around like a wild woman in the snow, but I couldn't get to my phone fast enough before she was ready to come in. I'm sure there will be another opportunity! :p She LOVES her snow!!!!

Good Morning.

NFL Playoff Sunday.
The Packers.
The Panthers waiting their turn.
It doesn't get any better than this.

Or does it?
Days to the Season: 308
Days to Christmas Day: 350

And it is with shock that we realize that ONE WEEK FROM TOMORROW, we will be arriving at 2016 Countdown Milestone number one, the 300-Day Season Marker, succeeded immediately by the start of a 200's level count sequence to Christmas Season 2016.
(Gee, maybe it does get better than that!)

Rain yesterday with cool but not cold temperatures.
By contrast, today should be sunny and warmer with highs in the low 60's.
Then the bottom drops out and we will be revisiting the 20's again tomorrow night.
Right now, the sun is peeking through and we show 57 rather dampish degrees on our back door thermometer.

Have a Super Sunday, Everybody.
Go Packers!!

Merry Sunday!
I am off to work shortly. I have a little anxiety about being there after the last two sundays. I am also still down with this bug. At least it's not getting worse but it will make the day a little challenging.
Wish me well and keep me in your prayers please :)

See you tonight hopefully. I won't be in till around 7:30pm. Loooong day!
