I always wonder what makes some people hate Christmas so much. But honestly as I've gotten older I think that there definitely is a minority of people that hate the holidays but I do believe they are a minority. Then us at MMC are certainly the opposite minority where we're obsessed with it as it's something we think about every day of the year. But the others in between the majority many of them act very lukewarm if you mention Christmas stuff to them. But I just think a lot of them forget. They don't remember all year long like we do how amazing, awesome, and special those days, weeks and even months are in the BERS. I've seen it with my own eyes people who claim to not care much for the holidays but when it comes...they have the time of their life and remember how awesome it is. Problem is by January they've forgotten again and won't remember until it hits them again some time around Thanksgiving and possibly as late as mid-December. I'm glad we have MMC here to help us always remember how special those days are.

They will remember it in September when they complain about, "Christmas already" in the stores.

I love when that happens cause we still have several months to go yet the fun is already beginning. But I mean they hate on it in September but still when Christmas weekend comes they will have a lot of fun but they just complain all the way leading up to it. I don't envy them :). How are you Xmas365?

Same here. I went to Jo-Ann Fabric for some yarn, and there was VERY little left. I got some $3.99 gift bags for 79 cents each, though!

I took down the outdoor lights this morning and packed them away. I'm syncing my post-season music library to my phone; it still has a "safety net" of some Christmas music on it. Tomorrow I'll be un-decorating the trees and packing them away, and packing away the Nativity. :( I prepared a special playlist of Christmas music that makes me smile that I can play as I work. I may put up a tiny tabletop tree and put a string of miniature LEDs on it to brighten up the winter nights. It still seems a little unreal that we've turned the corner and are entering the second week in January.

Oh, today I got the Christmas LP set I ordered on eBay---the one graywolf was talking about. I'll have to listen to those to make sure they're okay and don't need to be sent back! ;)

I hope you enjoy that LP.

Hold up. Taking down your Christmas lights on Christmas EVE? Umm that's the most Christmassy day of the year. What's the point of putting them up then? That's like getting all your party balloons and hats and 2016 new years signs and a couple of weeks in advance and then putting them all away on Dec 31.
That is nuts, I guess they celebrate Speed Christmas.

I remember when I worked for Blockbuster Video, we were open every holiday. I had the closing shift one year on Thanksgiving and I was driving home at about 1am and I saw a man decorating his yard with Christmas lights in the dark. I was laughing, but that guy was dedicated.

I agree - none of them took them ALL down, but they took the lights around their roof line down just b/c the weather was so amazingly warm. Ours stayed up! And it was still amazing warm when Jim took them down this week!

Goodness, it looks like the Invasion of the Snowmen! They'll keep things festive until springtime rolls around!

My mom used to make snowpeople, carolers, and Mr. and Mrs. Santa from a pattern that wrapped felt and batting around soup cans. She used to sell them to friends in the neighborhood. I have a cute picture of a crowd of her "little people" on top of our stereo console (remember those??).

Those are so cute.

Glad you're staying safe! :)

My family presented me with this lovely cherished teddies figure called
"I'm surrounded by Hugs"
It is perfect for our family , single mom, 2 girls and a boy and we have always loved to give hugs and cuddle. I am so thankful to have such a loving family.

That is a great gift.

Sorry about your Bengals Xmas365. I do think if you had your starting QB though your end of the season would have been different.
I am absolutely devastated by the outcome of last night's game. The fumble, the penalties at the end of a game that should have been a sure win. Fire Marvin Lewis for losing control of his team, they will not ever win a playoff game while he is the coach. He is already 0-7, and with the free agents this team has the window is probably closed on this now.

I hope everyone is having the kind of weekend you looked forward to on Friday!

Well, Christmas is sleeping in its boxes until the season rolls around again. I did bring out a little one-foot tabletop tree and put a string of white mini-LED lights on it as a winter accent. I'm bone-tired from packing things away and running up and down the stairs. I was playing some Christmas music, but the playlist ran out, and now I can hear the rain pouring outside. It's supposed to get very windy a little later. A good afternoon to just hunker down and relax. We did our errands yesterday so we wouldn't have to go out in the weather today. We'll probably heat up some leftover pizza in a little bit and put on a movie or video.

If we win the billion dollars (yeah, as if ...)---after investing and budgeting in a way that will allow us to retire---we'd go to visit Gloria, and I'd make sure we go to the MMC meet-up in Pennsylvania on October 1st. Not very exciting plans for a billion dollars, but if I could make those two trips this year without upsetting our finances, it would be almost as good as having a billion. I'd like this to be the year we once again have two steady incomes.

I am very angry over last night's game still. Just a painful way to watch them lose.
Besides that I am okay.

How is everyone doing today?

Just a ho hum day around here, raining nearly 60*f outside. I want some winter soon.

I'll be around just got caught up on the 300 posts I missed out on.

Enjoy your day.
Have a nice day off!
