I love Salisbury steak, if I get a hankering for it I usually just do a quick fix. Cook up a hamburg and douse it with brown gravy. I need to get a true recipe at some point.

It was very good & very filling. Here is the recipe I used from The Pioneer Woman. Hubby says I can make it again. LOL

Salisbury Steak
Recipe courtesy of Ree Drummond

Meat Mixture:
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon ketchup
2 teaspoons dry mustard
4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
1 cube beef bouillon, crumbled (or powdered beef base)
Salt and pepper
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil

Gravy:
1 whole onion, halved and thinly sliced (or diced if you prefer)
2 cups beef broth, more if needed for thinning
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 teaspoon seasoning sauce, such as Kitchen Bouquet, optional
4 dashes Worcestershire
1 teaspoon cornstarch, optional
Salt and pepper

Directions
Watch how to make this recipe.
For the meat mixture: Combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, ketchup, dry mustard, Worcestershire sauce, bouillon and some salt and pepper. Knead until all combined. Form into 4 to 6 oval patties, and then make lines across the patties to give them a "steak" appearance.

Fry the patties in a skillet with the butter and oil over medium-high heat on both sides until no longer pink in the middle. Remove from the skillet and pour off any excess grease.

For the gravy: Reduce the heat to medium and add in the sliced onions. Stir and cook until golden brown and somewhat soft, for several minutes. Add the beef stock, ketchup, seasoning sauce, if using, and the Worcestershire. Then combine the cornstarch with a little beef broth and add to the sauce if using. Stir and cook to reduce.

Add a sprinkle of salt and pepper and more broth if needed for thinning. Then return the patties to the gravy. Spoon the gravy over the top and let them simmer and heat back up for a couple of minutes.

*I also added mushrooms when I put the onion in to sauté

Good Thursday Morning MMC! Warm here this morning after our rain last night. Just moving along through the first week of February with my eyes set on Superbowl weekend. Looking forward to it and then Walking Dead returns Valentines Day/Presidents Day weekend. I think Walking Dead is more important than V-Day or Presidents Day though personally :). Not sure if any of you watched QVC lately but they already are mentioning the fall/autumn and the holiday season. I guess that's #1 for their channel is to sell stuff for the holidays. It just kinda makes me smile thinking how even though it's very far away still that people already start mentioning it outside us Christmasaholics.
Have a great Thursday everyone aka FRIDAY EVE!
I don't actually count for the whole drive home but I am keeping track of my neighborhood. Only 4 of us left with our lights up and on.

I feel like everyone wants to be the last to take theirs down. The last 4 of us are waiting to see who caves first.

It is an MMC tradition resulting from a made up place in our heads. I am trying to find the thread which explains the history behind it but can't find it. Hopefully Merry or one of the guys here can pull the link for you.

I got word last night that we are having a 2016 fourth quarter meeting on Monday. We are apprx. 5 months ahead of schedule for this meeting this year. I forecast Christmas merchandise coming in August again, which means the warehouses will be overflowing by the end of June. Kinda weird to have 4th quarter before Memorial and July 4th meetings.

Good morning Edge, Happy Thursday!
It's pretty warm here as well, we're currently at 50 degrees. Can't believe we're expecting snow tomorrow!
Hope you have a great day!
Same here ... it's well over 50F here, but we're expecting a few inches of snow (TBD) overnight and into the morning---just in time for a messy morning commute. Bleh.

Bleh indeed. Stay safe on the roads. I love the snow but it can cause so much disruption and worry. It's ok when you don't have to leave the house!
Thank you! I agree. I almost wish it would just cut loose and snow enough to allow me to work from home.
Always sad to hear when legends in entertainment leave us.
Yes, it is.
I admit the corrections at the end of the obit made me laugh---they corrected a misquoted line from one of their comedy "commercials" regarding flypaper. Mr. Elliott would have loved it, I think. Bob & Ray started in Boston radio in the late 1940s, so they're considered "local boys" around here. We have lots of their stuff at home, and they are very funny guys, whether scripted or off-the-cuff. I may post a link later.

Good evening,
It was my day off today, and everybody was home with me. My wife called out sick, JP was home sick one more day, and LC was home sick.
Trying to help them out with homework, dinner and other things has exhausted me. I am still not feeling 100% myself, but finally back to work tomorrow.
I hope you all had a great day.
Goodnight, everyone.
Hope everyone is feeling better today & your day at work goes well! xx

Good morning from winter wonderland.
And yes, it's till snowing here!
:snowhappy
Enjoy the winter wonderland. It was spitting snow earlier this morning but I think it stopped now. Have a wonderful day solice~
