Christmas Countdown - 2016

Well, we will answer your questions and whet your expectations right after we review the latest figures:
Days to the Season: 273
Days to Christmas Day: 315

OK.
Our next marker. Fifteen days away. TWO WEEKS from tomorrow.
It's the 300 day Christmas Day Milestone, Guys, after which BOTH of our countdown numbers will be in the 200's.
(Wow. I don't know about you, but it seems to me we are really moving along briskly!)


A cold that just won't quit. At least for today.
We are at 19.5 degrees here but at least it is calm and sunny.
I suppose it's risky to tempt the fates and say it can't get any colder, but in light of the pending optimistic weather service forecast for this upcoming week, I will.
(But hold them to it, of course!)

Happy Valentine's Day, my Christmas friends!

We made a quick trip to the NC mountains. It's 6F here this morning! That's very different from home. Whew! Jacob had to work, so he stayed home. Strange coming here without him, but he's getting older.

It was just an overnight trip, so we're taking Elizabeth and her cousin to play in some more snow, then we're heading south for home.

I hope y'all have a great day!
 
Good Sunday Morning MMC! Happy Valentine's Day! I am writing to you from my phone this morning. Our internet and cable went out last night. I'm guessing due to the extreme cold and wind. I can't remember the last time we had no internet and cable. We have not had an outage in a very long time. I have not missed coming here every morning since I returned past august and I was not about to let a little outage stop me this morning either. I woke up to -3 degrees and -32 wind chill. This will probably be our coldest day of the year...I hope. Best wishes to you all on this valentines day. Hopefully my internet will be back today and I can catch up on other posts!

Happy Valentine's Day! It is so cold here...-8 and with the wind chill feels like -32. We are heading to my SIL's later for dinner. She is making prime rib, sea salt potatoes, baked mac n cheese and salad. I am eating very light today and will save my appetite for dinner! Have a great day and stay warm! image.jpeg

Yeah it's pretty brutal. Nitro looked at me like "Are you crazy?" when I put him outside for a few minutes. He wanted to go right back in. This should be the coldest day of the year though...hope you have a great day.
