Christmas Countdown - 2016

Sorry for the downer news but, today there was another school shooting. Luckily no fatalities. This particular school however, Middletown Madison, in Middletown Ohio, is a school I have connection to. I taught percussion and worked with the Marching Band there for 3 years. I have been gone for two, but still have friends and former students there.
Today during lunch, an 8th grader walked into the cafeteria and fired several shots, hitting 2 students directly and causing shrapnel to hit 2 others. The shooter then ran out of the building and was taken into custody a short while later. All four victims are expected to physically recover, but emotionally they will never be the same.
So sad, on so many levels.

I saw this on the news...so awful. My daughter is in 8th grade and I cannot even imagine how scared the student/teachers must have been. Many prayers for them and you! I can only imagine how hard it would to hear about something like then when you have a personal connection.

I finally am caught back up again, I guess it's a good thing my wife watches the Bachelor, it gives me 2 hours to focus here. Working early in the am, so I should turn in for the night.

Good Tuesday Morning MMC! Happy March! As I call it the Day of Hope March 1. We're out of the worst time of the year. Spring is on it's way, daylight savings time and Easter! Great stuff to look forward to this month of March. I always look at today as being a big turning point in the year. It still amazes me how fast my work days go now. I feel like I'm here an hour and it's already noon and another 1 hr later it's the end of the day. Now if only the work day really was 2 hours and I could get paid for 8 that'd be sweet . Anyway, we made it to March guys so here we go. Let's enjoy the spring season that brings lots of hope and brighter days for us all. Prayers to Harlowe, HMG, and everyone else who needs them.

In case you missed it yesteray, the 300-day Christmas Day Window was thrown open and we stepped lightly through it into the double-200's zone.

Days to the Season: 257
Days to Christmas Day: 299

And good heavens, look at that! We are nearly half way from 300 to 200 in our Season count!
(This is getting scary. I'm afraid to look at the next Milestone!)


Nice weather persists and we had another beautiful day yesterday with a repeat promised for today before the chance of rain and cooler temps returns tomorrow.
Currently, we perceive 45 degrees here on our back door thermometer.

Just got home from Moms. Her & Emma are doing awesome! I'm not too knowledgeable about the Amish way of life, but Emma is a an Angel! What a gem! I went to get the groceries she had on her list, but I also picked up a 12 pack of Bud Light bottles for her b/c I know she likes beer, which totally cracks me up! Her face lit up when I walked in with it! Ha ha! (Mom is the one who was worried about making sure there was some beer in the house for Emma!) I'm sure she can't have that when she is at home! I can't imagine her going from living with my mom all week with electricity, hot water, tv, refrigerator/freezer, etc.... to back home with nothing modern for the weekend. What a change! My cousin also stopped in to see Mom & Emma while I was there. Mom loved that! It's been a good day!

It's funny that she likes beer that much LOL! When I was younger, my face would light up lie that, too.

Harlowe is resting, just wants to be left alone to sleep. She didn't want her breakfast. It's hard to tell if she's showing more symptoms of Congestive Heart Failure or side effects from meds. A lot are the same symptoms, confusingly. I will speak to her vet today. She is still drinking & did eat a little overnight, so not completely empty.

Aw, the poor sweetie! I'm so glad she is drinking and even ate a little bit. How frustrating to not be able to tell what is causing her symptoms. Praying hard for you both!

I was looking through my stash of Ideals magazines for Easter editions and thought of caninemom3 and her love of the Christmas Ideals. Made me smile.

The snow continues to fall ~ about an inch and a half of accumulation so far. If it was falling just a bit slower it would be ideal Christmas shopping snow!!!

good morning all my Christmas loving friends !

I have somewhere picked up one nasty cold. Called in sick to work since I do not think people want me trying to cough up a lung while ringing in their groceries. But I really do not have time to be sick right now.
We get the key for the new place today so will start with the hanging of the curtains...is there a good ceremony for that ?
Anyway, I am going to Wallmart for some drugs, you all have a great day.

Happy March!
Sorry I haven't been doing a good job of keeping up here. I still feel so drained from being sick. I'm not sleeping well at night so I'm having a hard time bouncing back and getting in to swing of things again. It's taking all I've got just to keep up with my daily chores and get dinner on the table every day. I finished all of my medicine so hopefully things will turn around and I'll get some energy back soon.
