Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good Friday Morning MMC! TGIF! Tax day although that's now on Monday due to an extension. Mine are long done anyway. The sun is shining and this is going to be a beautiful weekend ahead. 65 on Saturday with sunshine and 70 on Sunday with sunshine. Pretty much perfect weather or as my brother in San Diego calls it "San Diego weather." Gotta enjoy it especially after last weekend where it was chilly with some rain and wet snow. Plans for the weekend include resting...and some errands but also maybe gonna go hiking with my friend a bit. I signed up for the fall to take Statistics as i'm taking some math courses to get up to 30-35 math credits so that I can apply for a Masters degree eventually. Who knew all the courses I took for my Accounting degree and only 1 of them was math! Go figure.

Good morning MMC...happy Friday! Just work today and my daughter has a soccer game tonight. We are leaving tomorrow for NYC until Monday. We are going with my SIL and BIL. My nephew lives there. And best of all I have Monday off! Have a great day!

Moving dangerously close to twin Milestones!
(More about that, momentarily)
First, the numbers:
Days to the Season: 212
Days to Christmas Day: 254
And would you look at this, now. Two Milestones for the price of one!
First, the 1/3 Christmas Day marker, a scant 11 days away (SINGLE DIGITS from the day after tomorrow!)
The following day sees the opening of the 200-day Season French Windows onto a 100's level count landscape and the ever-acellerating pace to Christmas Season 2016.
Still a tad cool, but nothing a light jacket won't handle.
By Monday, the 70's will return and last right on through the week with virtually no chance of rain.

Our thermometer currently reads 45 degrees here in the capital city, but it's calm and sunny.

** TRAVEL ALERT **
The Crowns are headed to the coast for the first time this year to see how the cottage fared over the winter and to begin starting to get things ready for our 46th rental season!
(Yes, we have been enjoying and renting out the cottage since 1971. The time really slips away.)
As such (and as you no doubt guessed) a countdown volunteer will be needed starting this Monday morning. We plan to complete work no later than Friday so that would be the maximum volunteer time range.
Any interested party may apply within. (Within the thread, that is!)

Congrats on the new car! Exciting, especially when it's a good deal! We are new (new to us) vehicle owners too! Hubby had the fever & now there is a 2013 Durango Citadel in the garage!Good evening everyone, or should I say goodnight?
Well, the wife and I went out to do a little bit of car shopping this evening. The plan was simply to look, not really to buy just yet. I have been looking online at various car lots ans such for several weeks now, so I had a pretty decent idea what was in the area and what we were looking for. We went to a local lot because of seeing a car online that intrigued us. We wanted to see the car in person. To make a long story short, we could not NOT buy the car. So... we bought a car tonight. It is a 2007 Chevy HHR, granted, not new by any means, BUT only 32,000 miles!!! The car had only 1 owner who bought the car from that lot and just traded it in. The owner was an older couple who barely drove the car. It is in perfect shape inside and out. They took great care of the car and kept the maintenance records as well. The price was right, lower than what we were willing to pay. Pretty exciting evening.
Now it is about time for bed.

We are supposed to hit 71º today! Jim left for work in shorts today.
