Christmas Countdown - 2016

Top of the Morning to One and All!

And top on our list of things to do this morning is, of course, to check on the count progress and assess the time remaining until Christmas Season 2016 is upon us.

Proceeding, then:
Days to the Season: 143
Days to Christmas Day: 185

And a BIG Milestone Day is rapidly approaching.
The day after tomorrow (incredible though it may be to believe) will see us HALF WAY back to Christmas Day!
(How have things managed to move so quickly?)


The heat and humidity returned yesterday and the rain returned last night.
This morning has started off wet with a temperature reading of 77 degrees and hopefully we will get a respite from precipitation today.

I was up at 4am, kept tossing and turning, sleeping and waking up since 1:30am. My mind is on work, I have so much to do before my 3-day weekend that I couldn't sleep anymore. I hate when that happens. I will probably work from 7:30am to late evening to get everything finished.

Today is my last day of the week at work, I'll be packing more tomorrow & running loads to the house. We also have some installations at the house, and hopefully an appraisal too.
My Dad is driving up to give Adi a hand one day early, he's the best

Good morning my merry Christmas loving friends

The days have been lovely here but back to the humidity and heat again tomorrow.
(not a fan of that)
off to work in a bit. Put a roast in the slow cooker for supper since I do not get done work till 5pm.

Good morning MMC! Merry Friday Eve!!!! We were able to have our pre-fest party last night with no issues whatsoever from the weather. As a matter of fact, we didn't see much rain AT ALL overnight. So much for that 1-3" we were supposed to get. I'm ok with not getting those nasty storms they kept preaching about but most people were bringing in their flowers, etc to prepare. I told my hubby around midnight I was just going to bring in "a couple" of my favorites, he helped but not w/o rolling his eyes....

OOPS! So this morning I got to carry them all back outside. I brought them in for no reason at all! Anyway, there's a chance of storms again today but I haven't seen anything about severe weather, although I don't know why we should believe the weather peeps anyway! It was starting to lightening just as we were going to bed. Gracie went straight down the basement, so I slept down there with her. I didn't hear any thunder boomers at all over night, but we must have had some. I slept great! Gracie's had the right idea!

[Holiday]

Hubby found this little shitzu-mix dog sniffing around our area while he was walking Loki. He waited and asked around, no one knew whose it was. He didn't have a medal identifying him. The dog was sweet and friendly, he just followed David home. He was quiet and liked playing with Loki's toys. Loki did not like having another dog in the appartment though, he gets very territorial. After I finished work, we took him to an animal care service. They'll put his picture up on the web. I'm going to make flyers with his photo and put them up in our area, informing everyone where we took him. I really hope he finds his family.

AWE! I hope he finds his family back too. He's a doll!!!

Good morning to all my Christmas friends!
That "Christmas feeling" came over me last night as I sat in the living room on my iPad with all the lights off. I just had that overwhelming feeling that the tree should be up and the Christmas lights should be filling each room with their warm glow. I sure do long for that special time of year.

With the boss away yesterday and today, that left me to deal with the every day issues that pop up in my small corner of the company. Nothing major, I just can't get much of my own work done. But that's OK, we deal with it and adjust. But as a special bonus for the day, Michelle just called and she would come meet me for lunch. Yay! Lunch date!
