98 is HOT! We have a predicted high of 91 & I thought that was really hot! I won't complain!

So, we have been having some issues at our house with water pressure. Last week the plumber came out & replaced the pump switch. It seemed for help for a few days but then we started having issues again. They came back yesterday - they had to lower our well pump 30 feet!

We were running out of water!! We need rain SO bad!! We have never had a problem with that before. They said they have had to lower several already this year! We have a chance of rain tomorrow! Fingers crossed! xx (although here is a local outdoor wedding tomorrow - I don't want to wish that on them either!)

Luckily, it sounds like you only had to add pipe to go deeper!

It's a bad feeling when the well starts running dry. When my parents built their house, they had a "shallow" well (less than 100 ft) that worked fine for years.

Then, on top of a long drought, the local farmers started using the big irrigation systems in the nearby fields. It didn't take long for the water table to drop too low for the shallow well, so they had to put in a deep well.

Luckily, it sounds like you only had to add pipe to go deeper!

My parents had to dig a new well, probably about 4-5 years ago. Their well ran dry!

Thank you, I hope not either!
I don't worry too much about it; I live in a residential neighborhood. But there IS the possibility that a lightning strike or sparks from someone's grill could set something alight, and fire would spread quickly in this weather. We've had a few "high fire potential" warnings this summer.

Well Folks, the weekend will be here the day after tomorrow.

As for the latest count numbers, they are here right now.
Let's take a look:
Days to the Season: 115
Days to Christmas Day: 157

And the big news for the day is the fact that we will be down to 2 weeks to the 100-day Season Milestone marker TOMORROW.
Then -- oh and then! -- our Season count will be in DOUBLE DIGITS, fast tracking us to Christmas Season 2016!


Hardly worth mentioning the weather at all these days, as it never seems to change. Steady heat and humidity every day, occasionally punctuated with a thunderstorm.
Currently, we observe 75.2 digital degrees on our back door thermometer.
