Good Monday Morning MMC! I had a good lunch with my uncle which lead to a 2 and a half hour talk about life. Was quite interesting. I say it a lot cause I see it in myself too but when I talk to people like him that I have known my whole life I see how getting older changes us (mostly all for the better). Anyway, I decided to text my supervisor yesterday to tell her I may have to take off a semi-emergency vacation day Wednesday. I never ever do that last minute but since I'm picking up Rollins on Tuesday my brother suggested I take off Wednesday so we can spend time with him and get him adjusted for a couple of days. She told me to just email my boss to let her know. She's out of the country this week. Not sure why I am a tiny bit nervous to do so as she has never once given me a hard time about taking a day off...just don't like springing it on her last minute.

Merry Monday!! Just work for me today and I am going to hit the gym later. It feels as if the humidity broke a bit and it will not be as bad although we still should reach 90. Andre is back on track today so something was just not agreeing with his stomach. Hope you all have a great day!

Great to be back from a nice family reunion in western South Carolina......
but what a shock!
Can we really be into the LAST quarter of our Season count?
Well, if Edge say it, it must be so.
(And my thanks to Mr. Edge for piloting us over the dangerous waters of a Milestone crossing and safely into the "coasting" final 25 percent leg of our journey.)

Days to the Season: 90
Days to Christmas Day: 132

And do we dare check the chart for our next marker?
No. Too soon. Need to let the enormity of the Season's close proximity settle in and be assimilated first.
(Of course --- tomorrow's another story!)


Hot and humid in South Carolina, the same as here in North Carolina.
(Mother nature does not play favorites in the south!)
We did get a nice rain yesterday evening that cooled things off but not until it was time to go to bed anyway!
This morning has dawned clear and humid with only a 20 percent chance of precipitation and we are at 80 degrees here, already.

It has been forever since we mowed the grass. I figure with the rain we will need to mow another time or two. We will start putting up Halloween decorations in September, so all mowing must be done by that time. It is too hard to get the mower between the gravestones and skeletons.

Yes, but wouldn't it look dramatic to have a trimmed lawn, but long grass poking up between the gravestones, as though they were abandoned---? (My imagination is running away with me, I guess.)

We had some awful lightning for a while, but it was pretty much over by the time we were trying to sleep, thank goodness. And nothing beeped during the night!

I'll be heading out soon, I have a couple of errands to run. Back home afterward to work on my daily chores. I have an appointment this afternoon to have my hair cut & colored. That's about it for me.

Hello everyone. Well, as far as my neck of the woods goes, the weather folks say we should be out of the 100s for the year! I hope so. August can be dreadfully hot and we had a tough run these past two weeks. But I think we are done with that nonsense.

We're at the halfway mark of another month! One week of school down, 35 more to go...

Update on home addition: we were able to sleep in our new bedrooms on Saturday night! We still need the vanity in the master bathroom, so we're still using the hall bath, but we're okay with that. Hopefully by the end of this week, the bathroom vanity & laundry room counter tops will be in and we'll be all set. The carpet in the basement addition will go in on Saturday, and them we can get everything moved to where it belongs. We are able to move freely now on the main floor and I was even able to get back to my regular exercise routine last night! I'm still not sleeping as well as I would like. It's kind of like the first couple of nights sleeping in a motel room. Once you get used to it, sleep is easier to come by!

I'm looking around the addition and trying to figure out where I can fit in the Christmas decor. I think we can easily put a larger tree in our master bedroom this year! Now that things are settling down & DD is back in school with an earlier bedtime, maybe I can watch a few more of the Christmas movies I DVR'd during Hallmark Channels Christmas in July.

How exciting!! I'm glad your addition is progressing nicely. Hope every night you start sleeping better & better! And you find nice spots for Christmas decorations! Have a great day!

Good morning all!
The rain has settled in here and looks like it will continue through a good part of the day. We had rain most of yesterday as well.
Today is the last Monday of Summer Break(as a teacher). My wife and I both have teacher work days starting next Monday and then the kids are back in school next Wednesday. However, both my wife and I will go to our respective schools and get some work done off and on during this week. She is actually heading in today.
Summer break is great and all, but I am really looking forward to school starting again.

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

I had a busy weekend, cutting the shrubs, but I got it done. I was scratched up, and bleeding like I'd been in a knife fight, but it looks pretty good! AND I got to go see Star Trek again Saturday afternoon. I want to see it at least a couple more times before it leaves the theaters.

Jacob started college today! His first class is already behind him, and he should be in his second class by now. Exciting times!!
