Only two more days remain until we enter the "ber" months. Fantastic. Not too busy of a day today. Yesterday I was all over the place.

I have a few errands to do today, but I woke up much earlier than I had anticipated... Thanks to Simon the cat, and I haven't been able to nap at all since. Perhaps I will lay down for a bit now?

Reminds me of when I was little ... I had a swingset that stood under an English walnut tree. This time of year, the squirrels would tear into those walnuts when they were still in their green husks. They'd gnaw off the husks to get at the nuts, and shower the pieces down on me while I was playing outside! A homeless cat came along and "adopted" our backyard as his territory for a couple years. Tom kept the squirrels at bay, and we got several bushels of walnuts from that tree while he was in charge.

Awe! That's a fun memory! Sounds like Tom was good at his job!

When the wife moved down south with me,I had to instruct her on southern outdoors..i.e. dont stand under pine trees if its windy. (Pine cones are like softball size) dont mess with red ants..etc. She got nailed by a pine cone..lol

I guess that's why my TV is almost always on the Hallmark Channel. Ha ha! ;) :)

That he was! He also liked to beat up all the neighboring tomcats whenever they crossed his territory! But to me, he was a sweetie-pie. He had an amazingly loud purr. I still remember the way he would flop down onto his side, like a lion, and put his nose in the air with a really smug expression on his face. He really thought he owned our yard!

Good afternoon MMC friends. I just had to come on and share the good news. Many of you already know that London had her first real job interview today and she called me just a little while to let me know that she got the job!!! It's retail which isn't always the greatest but it's VS at the mall which is right across the street from her college campus so talk about convenience! I'm such a proud mummy right now.
