The moon has indeed been beautiful this past week. My eldest got a telescope for his birthday so hoping to moon gaze tonight. I will try and take some photos via the scope.

It's very noticeable.

I notice it in the morning when my husband goes to work and the neighbor kids get picked up on the bus. It stays dark longer into the morning and it happened in a matter of days! I like it though. We open the window a crack, snuggle into our sweatshirts a little more and smell the fall air. Fall!!

Well, the cool weather just keeps holding off and we had another warm and humid one yesterday. The weather service says it should be better today. I hope so, as that lawn really needs mowing!
Right now, we are at 71 degrees here in central NC.

Happy Friday everyone! We are doing a lot today so I decided to check in early. I made the mistake of teaching the baby the song down by the Bay yesterday and that's all she wants to sing now.

TGIF, and Happy Milestone Day, Christmas friends!

100 Days! I can't believe we're back here again!

As I mentioned above, the steering column on my mower has to have a bushing replaced AGAIN. They make that part out of soft brass, and it wears out every other year. And it's no picnic to replace. At least the last cut I made squared-up the yard, so it doesn't look too crazy.

My brother is having surgery on his sinuses today, so I'd appreciate prayers and positive thoughts for him.

Good morning all my Christmas loving friends !

Was hoping to catch up here but time for work is quickly approaching so I must sadly leave you. I sure miss when I could get on through tap a talk, that was so easy on my cell phone.

Thanks for all the suggestions and offers of help. i too have a cedar chest in the living room and my son thought I was daft for just standing there staring at it this morning. LOL...anyway I think buying a shorter tree to put on it may just be the way we will go this year.

What a dilemma. Could you move a piece of furniture (like a chair) out of the living room temporarily to set up the tree? You have some time ahead, hope you find the perfect solution.

That IS a problem! I hope y'all get it figured out. Decorating is not in my skill set.

Hang it from the ceiling?

A smaller tree doesn't necessarily mean a tiny tree. Space is at a premium in our house, too. At Christmastime, I clear the top of a cedar chest that sits inside of our front window, and I put a full, dense, 4-1/2-foot artificial tree on top. So it stands about 6 or 6-1/2 feet tall, and there are plenty of branches for ornaments. Saves on space, and looks really nice! Maybe a similar idea would work for you?

If you still have ornaments "left over," maybe you could festoon evergreen garlands on walls and/or doors, and hang ornaments from them. Or even display some in a clear glass bowl or vase, or in centerpieces. I once saw an article on the Internet about someone with a huge ornament collection; she was hanging hers from the ceiling! I know the "craftmeisters" here will have better ideas.

I've been there during my single/apartment days. Big trees are nice, but the heart you put into every light, ornament, garland, etc... will make it much grander in reality than it might seem right now. We use to put up around 12 trees or so and have a lot of ornaments left over. It can be difficult to decide which to place on and which to leave off. One way I use to add a few more was to hang them on lighted garland stretched on the ceiling, the railing, over the fireplace or anywhere it could be laid out.

@Christmasstar we will help you find a place for that tree! (all while enjoying your snacks & drinks) It's like my friend always says when I want to buy something but I'm not sure where I'll put it.... "buy it now, we'll FIND a place later." LOL! And we usually do!! Good luck!

Happy Friday my friends!!!

It took all week but it finally decided to show up. Yes it's Friday. Totally beautiful weather this morning as I took a walk to the 7-11 by my office to pick up a coffee. I'm looking forward to tomorrow because I get to join my fellow church members on our bi-weekly Seventy on Saturday door hanger campaign where we go through neighboring areas and put up door hangers telling folks about our church and ministry. Only takes about an hour of our morning, it's fun, exercise and encouraging to each other. Afterwards my friend Hannah and I are going to have a late breakfast either at Cracker Barrel or Bob Evans. She's been having a rough transition into her new job and she's been very emotional and so I wanted to do something with her to get her mind off of things even if it's only for a little while. She's thinking of quitting the choir as well because she's overwhelmed and I'm hoping I can convince her to just take a break for a month or so until she feels more comfortable with her new job and what not. Wish me luck.

How is everyone else planning on spending their weekend? Any fun plans? However you spend it do it with joy in your heart and stay blessed.
