Good Morning, Hilariously Happy Holiday Hunters, Hoping Hurricanes don't Happen.

Well, the hunt for the holidays may have a ways to go yet but we are really closing in now on our immediate quarry, the NINETY PERCENT / HOME STRETCH Milestone to Christmas Season 2016.

Days to the Season: 40
Days to Christmas Day: 82

And as a matter of fact, we are now LESS than half a week away from that auspicious marker!
(Unbelievable though that might be.)


The coolish weather persists, providing an ironic backdrop to what is heating up in the tropics to our south. Haiti is getting slammed by Matthew, with the Bahamas and the US east coast next. Still a few days to go yet, which carries at least some hope of a veer to the east. We are keeping our fingers, toes and everything else crossed!
Currently, we have a sunny morning here in central NC with a temperature reading of 65 degrees.

Good Tuesday Morning MMC! My co-worker got picked for jury duty and a case so she will be out most likely the rest of this week and possibly part/all of next week. I hope she will not be gone that long because now we have to pick up her work which is a good amount. That's why we came in on Saturday though to get ahead of our work so we can pick up hers. Good thing we did then. Beautiful morning out here and I actually see some breaks of sun dare I say.

I had a busy day on the homestead, lots of cleaning. Starting with the thoughts of holiday decorating, and stuff that needed to be done. I never got some of things done I wanted to today like recording the Boston Pops/Arthur Fiedler Christmas CD I picked up a few weeks ago onto the computer. I need to start working on my Christmas playlists since I switch right after Halloween.
Please keep our old man Merlin (cat) in your thoughts and prayers. He will be 18 in February, but he seems to be losing control of some bodily functions. My wife got him as a kitten 6 months after we started dating, so he has been with us pretty much since the beginning.

Good Morning, MMC!!! Its going to be a warm day here with a high near 80 degrees. My youngest niece and Ella stayed over last night. Ella slept most of the evening so I knew I was in trouble and sure enough, come 5am she was barking like crazy to be let out. So I got up and took her on a walk. Then brought her back in and tried to get her to go back in her cage. She was having none of that. Just ran around the apartment wanting me to chase her. So I gave in and played with her awhile and started laundry. As soon as I sat down on the recliner though, she hopped up on my lap and went back to sleep. I think she was laughing while she did it too. Lol!! I think a nap is in order after her and my niece go home. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!

Good Morning MMC! Just in to check in and dash-life has been very busy! My cat is at the vet with a kidney infection but he is responding to treatment so that's good. Work is stressful and I'm pretty tired, so I'm taking good care of myself as best I can! I hope you all are well and are having a good week so far. It's Pines Eve already! Poor Leo, it does sound like he hurt his back. One time Loki missed jumping on the couch and let out a huge yelp. Afterwards he wanted us to carry him up and down. It lasted a couple of days and then he was ok. Sending good thoughts your way.

Thanks Martine. He is always jumping around and we were playing ball outside on Sunday so I was thinking maybe he turned the wrong way or something.

Good morning. Another fabulous autumn morning here in MD. The crispness in the air is just so inviting. I wish I didn't have to spend my morning getting ready for and now being at work. However, I'm so blessed to have a job to go to each and everyday that I will have to find other ways to enjoy the changing of the seasons. I think I will put an autumn wallpaper up on my computer screen.

Well, nothing to exciting going on in my house at the moment and that is okay with me. I hope you're houses are all healthy and happy. I know many of you all (including myself) are dealing with seasonal allergies so I hope you are able to find relief.

Hope he is much better in the morning, if you need to take him in have them check his back for swelling/inflammation.
Har had similar symptoms a few weeks ago, so it's just a thought.

Thank you so much! He seems a tad bit better this morning but still not 100%. I am going to give it one more day and then call the vet.

You know I never realized that before.

I had the same sort of revelation in an antique shop one day. I saw a book that looked like a photo album, but inside instead of pages were heavy paper sleeves with 78 rpm records in them ... and I realized it was ... a record album!

I am thinking this year I really want to put up my tree before Thanksgiving, I will have to run it by the wife first. I have been wanting to put up a tree for the last week.

I've gotten in the habit of assembling mine and putting the lights on the day before Thanksgiving. Then I decorate it the following weekend. That way I can enjoy the lights during Thanksgiving, and look forward to decorating it! Maybe you can sneak yours in that way. "The lights would be so pretty for Thanksgiving!"

You and me both! I've been working on my Christmas playlists and trying to condense my library so they'll fit onto my smartphone when the time comes. It's harder every year, because I digitize more albums and buy more Christmas music every year (even though I try to convince myself I already have plenty). I think next year I will need a new phone with more space.

Good Tuesday morning! Allergies acting up this morning, I'm a sneezing machine. I'm working the afternoon/evening shift, so I'm going to finally get to buying what I need to make my Halloween costume. I think I'll be a tooth fairy, complete with a long tulle skirt that I'll make (found no-sew tutorials) and a headband/necklace/bracelet with teeth. We'll see if I can find everything I need, if not I'll have to think of something else. Have a great day everyone!

That's a great idea for a costume!
Throw in a huge toothbrush for a prop, and hand out floss samples! (Well, that's probably going too far! Hand out nickels or dimes instead.)

I hope Matthew will veer off and let the U.S. coast alone. It's bad enough that Haiti is getting slammed, even as I type. So sad, thinking of how so many people will suffer in the wake of the hurricane.
