Christmas Countdown - 2016

[Holiday]

Hi friends! Big day/week here: 5 years of dating my husband, 3 years since my grandfather's death, 2 years of marriage with my husband tomorrow, and of course 2 months to Christmas Eve, almost 1 month to Thanksgiving, and 1 week to Halloween! Whew!

We are doing a "staycation" starting Thursday through Monday morning (minus 2 hours of work Saturday), and I can't wait! We're going to go apple picking and take a painting class together!! We will also be doing some book sorting of our hundreds of books probably and relaxing with some Christmas music-my hubby has surprised me by starting to listen to it and suggest we both listen to it together recently!

I'm loving the new Rascal Flatts Christmas cd. And Chris Young's. And Loretta Lynn's. And The Oak Ridge Boy's.

Plus Pentatonix's, Amy Grant's, Sarah McLachlan's, and well I have R Kelly's but I haven't listened to it yet.

There are a ton of good one's coming out this week too and I can't wait for Garth and Trisha's.

I have the Oak Ridge Boys, a couple of Amy Grant's...I bet Garth & Trisha's will be great. I didn't realize they were coming out with a new one. Looks like I better check out what's all coming out new this year!!

Dang! Two weeks have flown by and I haven't been here! I've got some major catching up to do. The good news is that we have been so busy doing fun things with the girls. Petting zoos and other fall activities have taken up our time. We are hoping to go to the zoo for the "Zoo Boo" where everyone wears their Halloween costume and they have a lot of lights out. In two weeks, they start their Christmas lights. They were putting those up this summer when we were there.

Hobby Lobby is awesome. We have been there the past two weekends, also. The girls love it...almost as much as their Daddy. We hope to make a return visit soon. In Christmas related news, we are 1/2 done putting our lights up. Should finish that this weekend.

Gotta go...there is a lot of reading to do! Have a good night!

I'll definitely share pictures when you start that thread! One of the items was one of those retro looking TV sets with a Christmas scene inside. It's animated, lights up and plays music. So sweet. HomeGoods had a lot of vintage looking decor today. I've learned if I see something I really want I have to grab it because it will most likely be gone the next time I go back.

Sounds so neat!! Can't wait to see!!

Hope everyone is having a good evening! I am just relaxing and getting ready to watch some TV. I was watching the weather and they said we may see some snowflakes this week...as long as there is no accumulation I am fine with it!

SNC is an a capella group, best known for their version of 12 Days Of Christmas. My wife and I saw them live a few years back, great show. I have never gotten into country music, Christmas or otherwise, it is strange how it works. I have had family around me that listens to it all my life and it never has "grabbed" me like rock.

Thanks for the 12 days music. Love it!
And it's ok - everybody has their own taste. I like both rock & country - but I usually find myself always going back to country! It's good to change it up sometimes!

We have passed another milestone on the way to winter/Christmas tonight, we have turned the heat on for the first time this season. It is supposed to be cold tonight in the 20's, and highs in the 40's tomorrow. There is also a chance for snow on Thursday. I have inventory tomorrow night, but I already counted the turkeys, I have over 4,000lbs in my freezer, with 3 more weeks of deliveries to come. "It's the most wonderful time of the year..."

I turned on my space heater at work this morning! We don't have the furnace on at hope yet, but I've been using the fireplaces the last couple mornings.
I hope inventory goes well!

Beautiful crisp cold morning here. Trying to do some work while the kids play. Then we are going to the shops to pick up a few things including candy for trick o treaters. We will stop by the cafe for milkshakes while we are there and then back home to make some halloween cake bites and watch a movie.

Good Tuesday morning! Very cold this morning, nothing to do but get used to it. As I got home last night, the "clicker" for my remote car starter literally snapped in half and broke. As if I didn't have enough to do on my day off, now I have to place a call to the car dealership to replace this useful tool. I have a dentist appointment this morning, have some things to buy for work, some groceries as well, gotta find a scarf to combat this cold and do laundry and housecleaning. I'm tired just thinking about it all. Have a great day everyone!

For the most part... yes. I will put out some "last minute" decorations in the yard Monday morning. The women of the abode here have decided to commandeer the "candy" detail, so I guess I'll just listen in upstairs... lol
Of course I will play It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown that evening. I will also pipe outside the soundtrack from Disneyland's Haunted Mansion.

taking mom to her appointment in Woodstock this morning. Of course we have to do the thrift store thing .

This afternoon I will be making a dozen halloween cupcakes that were ordered. Any suggestions for decorations ? They left it up to me.

I heard the word "snow" in the forecast this morning. Still to dark to see if we are getting any yet.

The house smells good as I just took a batch of sweet tea biscuits out of the oven. Anyone want to join me for breakfast ?

Elizabeth got her braces off yesterday, and she was super-happy! Her teeth look great, too! She wanted to go out to eat to celebrate, so we went to her favorite Japanese restaurant and had a good meal.

Good Tuesday Morning MMC! Happy Rudolph Day #10. That seems crazy that this is the 10th Rudolph Day of the year. Not many left huh? It's chilly out this morning but that's expected for this time of year. Put on my sweater for the first time in 6 months. Rollins literally jumped in my bed at 2:30 AM, curled up against me and went to sleep. He slept there an hour...while I tried to fall back to sleep. Just another day at work here in late October. Getting ready soon for Halloween weekend.

He likes to curl up with his back against you and use you as a pillow. He was sleeping in his own bed in my room and just decided he wanted my bed. Sounds like Leo is spoiled too...
