Hello everyone. Late night, popping in to say hello and to get some good Christmas cheer! It's amazing isn't? the part to where and how the year just flew by and here we are at the Christmas season once more. Truly a blessing to be alive and free to celebrate the birth of our Lord and to treasure the season and the joys of Christmas.

Happy Pines Day!
Its a beautiful sunny day, we're going to have highs near 60 degrees. Just took Maggie for a short walk. I don't think she's feeling well today. She got sick this morning so I have to keep an extra close eye on her. Typical day here, I'll just be working on some chores around the house. We picked the new car up last night, I really need get used to the new features. I guess I'll spend a few minutes out there today so I can check it all out. My mother is stopping by later this afternoon for a visit, I'm going to bake brownies for her. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!

I hope Maggie starts feeling better soon! And congrats on the new car!

Last night I was finally able to make it to our local hardware store. This is the store that always has the Christmas Open House/Ladies night (which I missed ) Anyway, I walked in the back door to see this - the picture doesn't do it justice. It was just breath taking.... especially considering this is a HARDWARE store! LOL! (and a good one at that!)

That looks awesome! We went into Belks this weekend, and all of the decorations are up. They just need to start with the Christmas music already!

Was there a short in the wire or were they just poorly made; wonder what caused the problems with the bulbs. Sometimes you have to spend a bit more for longer lasting quality. That's why I only wrap with SCOTCH tape and the lovely scent of pine needles instead of discount tape.

Hooray for a view that includes Christmas lights!

The wiring seemed fine, but every day another bulb or two went dark. I'm wondering if it's just poor-quality goods---they were Home Depot's house brand. I'm seriously considering getting the GE brand strings, despite the cost, to see if they fare better.

(We prefer Scotch brand tape for gift wrapping, too!)

Merry Pines Day! My oldest daughter is home sick with the stomach bug. Not up too much today just working and hoping I can get into the chiropractor. My shoulder is bothering me and tonight my youngest daughter has dance. Hope you all have a great day!

View attachment 33997 Nothing much going on here for me today. Just have work at 1 so that means Carolina has to eat lunch at my cousins house.
We are possibly taking Carolina to see Santa at Damblys a garden center near us. They have the best Santa. It cost $10 but we get to take as many pictures as we want and he always has us take a family photo with him too. It's much better than the mall Santa's that cost $40.

** CHRISTMAS SEASON 2016 DAY 4 **


Good Morning, Folks.

Doesn't it seem sometimes as if you've lived the whole year just for the Christmas Season?
The music.
The movies.
The decorations.
Friends and Family.
The whole atmosphere?
Seems that way to me, often. Like it just doesn't get any better than this!

Let's look at the count numbers:
Days to Thanksgiving Day: 8 (ONE WEEK FROM TOMORROW!!)
Days to Christmas Day: 39 (Barely over 5 1/2 weeks left!)

Beautiful!


Warmer yesterday but still with just a bit of a nip in the air. Should be warm for November the remainder of the week with little chance of rain.
Currently, we are at 42 degrees here in central NC.

And hey! Stop in at the 'Pines this evening just to see Carl's seasonal decorations.

Good Wednesday Morning MMC and Happy Pines Day! It's going to be beautiful with temps near 60 and sunshine. Have to enjoy it because next week looks much chillier. Well it is November so we have to deal with whatever weather we get. At least it will feel more like the holidays just in time for Thanksgiving week. Oh man 1 week from today is my favorite work day of the year. We leave at noon and are off till the following Monday. We really are right on the "edge" of the world going full into the holiday spirit (and we need it with all that's going on in the news lately).
