** CHRISTMAS SEASON 2016 DAY 6 **


Good Morning, Folks.

We continue on our progress through Christmas Season 2016, with our next stop being Thanksgiving Day!

Today's numbers:
Days to Thanksgiving Day: 6 (Well look here, now. UNDER ONE WEEK left!!)
Days to Christmas Day: 37 (Five weeks from the day after tomorrow!)
(I can almost hear the Macy's parade music!)


We continue to warm up and this trend will continue today and tomorrow, with highs both days in the 70's. But then we plunge into the depths of early winter Sunday, with lows possibly down into the upper 20's. (That will be quite a shock.)
Currently, we see 46 degrees here in the capital city of North Carolina.

Good morning MMC! Happy, Happy Friday!!! Looking forward to the weekend, though it will be a busy one!

After work yesterday I met Jim at the lake & we blew out the water lines at the trailer. Kind of sad, but that was the warmest it has ever been doing that job! Mom wanted me to pick up some beer & pop b/c she had people coming over last night, so I did that & dropped it off there - ended up staying longer than planned. OOPS! I got home & made the cornucopia, I baked bacon for the Thanksgiving 7 layer salad, then I made Holiday Bacon Appetizers for the Thanksgiving party on Sunday. The house smelled amazing. A high school friend stopped in unexpectedly - she WATCHED me make the cornucopia. LOL! It was a good night but still lots to do before the big day!

High of 72º predicted for today & a high of 40º with snow predicted for tomorrow O-H-I-O!

Here is the cornucopia - I used the homemade breadstick dough. Looks a little rough from the side but that can be covered up with cheese chunks & grapes.

Oh well, family night is cancelled. My father is not feeling up to it and my brother wants to finish some important work before starting a one-week vacation tomorrow. My father, who is 75, mentionned how tired he was feeling lately. I'm concerned, I made him promise to make an appointment with his doctor and to talk to his pharmacist about vitamins that he started taking, just to make sure they're not doing more harm than good. His blood sugar levels and blood pressure are under control, so he doesn't know why he's feeling this way. I'll keep a close eye on the situation.

So David and I will get some take-out and catch up on the dvr tonight. He has to be at work very early tomorrow, so it won't be a late night for us. Hope everyone enjoys their evening.

Merry Friday!
It's snowing !!!

I woke up to a light dusting this morning which turned to brown slush quite quickly. Currently we have a light fall but mixed with rain unfortunately. It's not the clean fluffy snowfall you can enjoy but still it's nice to watch.

We are below freezing at the moment and I am struggling with coughing and breathing. My asthma inhaler doesn't seem to be helping.

It is nice to have some snowfall this time of year

Good Friday Morning MMC! TGIF! The last Friday before the madness begins...but the most fun time of year begins sounds better! Rollins decided 3AM was morning. He came in my bed and fell asleep so I was able to go back to sleep. I have some errands to do this weekend and homework but other than that I'm going to try to enjoy some down time...even though next week is like my favorite (or 2nd) week of the year and will have time to be with family/relax all the craziness is really going to start right around then...and not stop till close to January.

Good Friday morning! I was awake at 4am and wasn't able to fall back asleep. Heavy fog here this morning, it looked like a scene from a horror movie it was so dense. A couple more days of mild weather and then the cold will set in on Monday. I have some shopping to do today and have some laundry and other chores to do as well. Hoping to get everything done in the morning, because I will surely need a nap later. Hope everyone will have a great Friday. The weekend is right there!

With the recent time change, I've been having trouble sleeping past 5am myself. It's so aggravating! Enjoy your day!

Martine, the antibiotics seem to help Maggie's cough but I'm glad she's just about finished with this round. I think she needs a break.
Brad, I hope Lulus appointment goes well next week. Maggie's grooming appointments go by quickly. It's one on one service, she's finished in an hour. I would hate to leave her longer than that.

Good Morning/Afternoon christmas friends...Hope everyone is having a merry Friday so far...Its a baltic day here today Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!...It was showing -2.5 in the car this morning and guess what we had some snow showers today Woooo-Hooo....So since its mighty cold outside i made soup for my Parents and my wife's parents too...Sitting here in the warmth today its the best place since its baltic out their...Enjoy your day ahead christmas friends

I am sure they did, LC was too young to remember what our kittens did a number of years ago to the tree, and it is bothering him. A lot!
He surprised me when I got home today he fixed it all up and even refluffed the branches. He is such a chip off the old block.

Awe! What a guy! Chip off the 'ol block for sure!

The problem with these kittens is they're fearless, my wife sprayed them once and all they did was look at her like "What?" We bring them to the vets to get shots and they just purr because the vet is holding them, she couldn't hear their heartbeat and had to let them smell hand sanitizer to stop the purring. They are just the happiest bunch.

Good evening,

I am so tired and sore at this point, I definitely do not recover as quick as I did when I was in my early 30's.
I have more help tomorrow, so I should be able to do minimum with the turkeys.
They cut a shift on me because I had too many hours next week, I told them to put me on Saturday but they never did. it is one of my busiest days of the year, and I feel I should be there running my department but they wouldn't listen. I'll enjoy my Saturday off.

I am heading to sleep.

Goodnight everyone! My half day sub job turned into a full day job. Hoping it goes by quickly. My cousin will have to come to my house to watch Carolina since everyone is sick at their house.
Our local radio station turned to all Christmas music at 2pm. Very exciting,

Soup sounds good on a cold day. I had some chicken noodle soup a couple days ago that was great! Enjoy your day, too!
