Would somebody fix the thermostat? We have seen two big shifts in the weather in the past week and a half....first, it went from 72 down to 23 in 5 hours and stayed that way for a few days. Now, it was 76 yesterday and it is 42 right now....this kinda junk makes me sick!

Doc is off of work one more day. We don't have anything planned, but I have some potato soup (great minds think alike, Made) cooking and we are probably going to watch a movie or something. Got some picking up to do, but that can wait. She just needs to relax today.

Brad, let me know how the new toy works....I've been fighting the itch to get one.

Our weather has been CRAZY too. Christmas day it was in the 30s, yesterday it was 65, and today back in the 30s. I want actual winter weather. Under 32 and snow!:bundleup

I can't wait! I think I'm looking forward to that more than anything else, and my intent was to give it to Elizabeth. We'll see who ends up with it. ;)

The Christmas blues haven't started yet for me. Carolina was sad last night but me telling her Christmas is in her heart all year made her feel better. The past few years I have been worried that it will be my grandmas last Christmas and that's what makes me saddest since she is 90.

Mikes parents were not impressed with Carolina's home made gift. They thought it was vain and lazy because it was a magnet with her picture that I let her paint herself. It hurt my feelings and now I'm not sure if I should even bother giving it to his grandparents and uncles family in case they feel the same way
Give them. The gifts were made with love. Not giving them could make Carolina feel you don't appreciate her efforts. Even store-bought gifts are not always appreciated---the important thing is that they're given wholeheartedly. Unfortunately, not everyone appreciates the gift behind the gift.

Good Tuesday morning! I work the afternoon/evening shift today. I'm battling allergies again this morning. I do not even know what is triggering an allergic reaction almost every day, all I know is it's annoying. We had freezing rain yesterday, I'm not looking forward to walking outside. Roads look ok, it's the parking lot and sidewalks that worry me...Wishing everyone a great day!

Time off around Christmas is a wonderful perk of being a teacher! It is really nice because my wife is a teacher also, so we get the time off together.
Hoping you'll really enjoy your time off together! Teachers work very hard, so you've earned the right to kick back and loaf a bit!

Good Afternoon .. still on Vacation .. at least for another week :) Good thing I am off, got a mountain of laundry to do:) the first load was nothing but the new clothes the kids got. Plan on slowing moving thing out from under the tree and put them away before New Years Day as that is when we usually take the tree down. The outside Christmas decoration will come down this Saturday and then we will put up the winter decorations ... Keep the icicle lights up, wrap the porch railing in white C9 lights, leave the light up snowman and reindeer up until the beginning of March. I have a bunch of indoor snowmen decorations that will get put up once we take the Christmas decorations down.

The house is way too quiet, took our puppy (well she will be year next month) in to get spayed this morning and I won't pick her up until tomorrow afternoon. I can call the vet in an hour to get an update. Ugh .. miss my puppy girl already.

Well off to do more laundry .. have a great day

I have a shelf just outside the kitchen with five or six Christmas mugs in a row that I keep out year-round. They make me smile! I just got a Ralphie "You'll shoot your eye out" mug for Christmas, too.

My Christmas music enters my playlists earlier each year. It's my favorite kind of music, and the season is too short for me to play all I want to hear.

I use my Christmas mug all year long. Love the idea of a Christmas mug shelf. Need to figure out a spot for one now. :)

My Christmas music is listened to all year long. There is so much out there that I'd never have time to listen to new music if I waited until the season started.

It's unfortunate that Mike's parents felt that way about Carolina's hand-made Christmas gift for them. Still, I wouldn't deny the other members of Mike's family such a wonderful gift. Maybe his folks will come around one day and learn to enjoy such gifts for the special memories that they are. We carefully preserve and display every Christmas ornament, sketch and Vacation Bible School picture the kids ever made (much to their chagrin ;)).

Well said, Brad!

I love that you save everything!!

Good Morning, MMC!!! Well back to reality weather wise here today. It was 62 yesterday and I was drive ng around with the windows down on the car. Today its going to be 35 with wind chills in the 20's. Nothing real exciting going on here today. Just going to run to the grocery to get cheese for my potato soup and a few snacks for new years eve before they run out. I might stop by goodwill too to see if any good Christmas decorations got dropped off yesterday. I hope everyone has a great day!!!

We have the same kind of weather out this way. There was gale force winds last night that knocked out the power, but it also melted most of the snow. :)

Potato soup sound yummy!

Hope you found some good things at Goodwill! I'm going hunting tomorrow ~ should be a lot of fun.

Have a Merry day!

Doc loved Christmas, but not as much as I did before we were married. Once she realized how important it was to me, she made it as important to her. If they have that quality, that's great. If they appreciate that quality and respect it in you, even better. By taking on something that is so important to you, it shows a sacrifice on their part....and that is meaningful. Not that I'm Dr. Phil or anything, but making something important to you because your spouse finds it important is kinda what marriage is all about...

Well said, Ballcoach!

I hope you are better soon and that the parking lots and sidewalks are not icy!

Just checking in to let you know I'm still around, although enjoying my one week of R&R from countdown duties.
(Which reminds me. Better start planning that Christmas Countdown 2017 launch thread. Hmmmm....)
