We wound up with almost entirely sleet. About an inch worth. The afternoon sun is melting it some but we are staying in the 20's for highs today, tomorrow and Monday and will be facing black ice the next two mornings. But all in all, not a particularly severe event.
Temps near zero for the next two nights, though!
My buddy sent me a pic of their snow in Kinston. Looks like they got a 1" maybe more.

Happy Saturday! It is snowing like crazy here...they are saying we may get 12+ inches. Seems like this really snuck up on us since all I heard was we were getting a couple inches and then last night it all changed. So we are just hanging out watching football and relaxing.Enjoy your night!

Tonight was the service for Mike's cousin. I pray no one ever has to endure what they have. A cause of death is known but now they need to know why she did it and how she knew what to do. It was very sad especially seeing all her friends from cheerleading. I just pray her friends never feel the way she felt. What's most upsetting is that they couldn't get an appt for her until after the holidays due to things being booked or closed.

Oh, nmc, that is heartbreaking. Keeping Mike and his family in my prayers. (((HUGS)))

Merry evening!

Trying to find the elusive .50 my accounts are off. Grrrr ~ probably a typo on my part, I just need to locate it. I have hard copies of every sales ticket, so it shouldn't be too hard to find. Other than that, trying to stay warm. It is even colder today than yesterday and there isn't as much wind.

Be safe and warm!!

Well I took the long route home from work tonight, and there's quite a few homes with lights on, including a few still just completely decked out in holiday decorations. I even saw fully lit up and decorated Christmas trees in a couple of windows.

That's enough for me to keep it going!

Too bad the Sounds of the Season Holiday ends tomorrow night. That's always about the last thing to go in terms of any proper connection being made to the season.

Good evening,

It is a winter wonderland here, it was first suppose to be 1-3 inches, last night 3-5, now 6-8. Work was extremely busy, and then my family Christmas party was fun. Most of my family cancelled due to weather, but it was a small gathering.
My wife gave me a Santa for my birthday, and kids gave me a Bluetooth speaker. So it was a good day.

I hope you all had a great day

Goodnight, everyone

Happy belated birthday xmas365! Sounds like you had a lovely day.

Crown do you guys ever stop into the Scotchman gas stations? They have the BEST raspberry filled donuts anywhere!
No, we always fill up before we leave Raleigh and the van holds enough gas to make it over and back without having to re-fill. Kinston is where we usually stop to eat on the way home ("King's") and to drop by the "Neuse Sport Shop" (who's Christmas decorations make an annual appearance in the Blossoms thread).

Morning! It's a winter wonderland out. We received about 5 inches of snow on Saturday. Originally it looked like the storm would go to the east of us but it came a little farther towards us so we got more than expected. It seems to fall on a Saturday the last couple of winters which is great for those of us who work Monday-Friday. Really didn't do a lot yesterday which is rare for me. This might turn out to be one of the more relaxing weekends that I will have all year. Have to shovel a bit today and will do a few more errands. Glad that I have my tree up for the next 3 weeks. Can't believe Christmas was 2 weeks ago today! Have a great Sunday!

Good Morning, Folks.

Well, we are there.
<< Where, Crown? >>
I'll tell you in just a moment.

First:
Days to the Season: 309
Days to Christmas Day: 351

And just where are we?
Why, at SINGLE DIGITS to our first Milestone, the 300-day Season marker.
Yep. Hard though it may be to believe, we are but NINE short days away from our first 2017 Milestone.
(Barely into the new year and look how far we have advanced in the count!)

After an overnight 1" sleet fall Friday, not much snow came during yesterday morning. This really would not be any kind of significant event if it was not for the bone-chilling cold, with single digit (the wrong kind of single digits, mind you!) temperatures predicted for tonight. Even now, we only record 16 degrees here in the cold capital city. And that does not lend itself well to melting!

Well, with the Panthers gone, I'll be pulling for the Packers the rest of the way in the NFL playoffs.
Have a Super Sunday, Everyone!

Thanks Crown! I'm not a fan of the bone-chilling cold but I am of the NFL playoffs and your great Countdown!

Good morning.
It is a cold Sunday morning here. Wind chills still around -10.
Not much going on today: Drink some coffee, do some lesson plans for the week, watch some football, and do some laundry.

Everyone have a wonderful Sunday.
