Good Morning, Folks.

Well, we are there.
<< Where, Crown? >>
I'll tell you in just a moment.

First:
Days to the Season: 309
Days to Christmas Day: 351

And just where are we?
Why, at SINGLE DIGITS to our first Milestone, the 300-day Season marker.
Yep. Hard though it may be to believe, we are but NINE short days away from our first 2017 Milestone.
(Barely into the new year and look how far we have advanced in the count!)

After an overnight 1" sleet fall Friday, not much snow came during yesterday morning. This really would not be any kind of significant event if it was not for the bone-chilling cold, with single digit (the wrong kind of single digits, mind you!) temperatures predicted for tonight. Even now, we only record 16 degrees here in the cold capital city. And that does not lend itself well to melting!

Well, with the Panthers gone, I'll be pulling for the Packers the rest of the way in the NFL playoffs.
Have a Super Sunday, Everyone!
Thxs Crown!! Just started to get snow falling..its 15 minutes ahead of schedule today. Hoping its not.just a teaser.

8 inches of snow yesterday, and 8 degrees this morning. Tomorrow should be right around 0F! Husband got out to work at the hospital with some slow driving. My work got cancelled so I get to relax and rest! :) Church is cancelled most places as well. Catching up on odds and ends around the house while the heat kicks in and tries to keep me warm! Hope everyone has a wonderful and warm Sunday!

Good Morning MMC

A cold and snowy day here. Church was cancelled as more is expected. It is currently -21c (-6f) brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
We are under a snow squal watch.
So we will just stay inside, doing some chores like laundry. have to hem some curtains. Other than that we will watch some movies and relax.

Happy Sunday everyone ~
We ended up getting about 8 inches of snow. Looks very pretty out there! Not too much going on here today. I'm just going to work on the laundry and I plan on making lasagna for dinner. My husband is painting our bedroom today. We picked a color called dusty gold, looks very nice and cozy with our cherry wood furniture. He's also putting a wood floor down. Our bedroom was the last room that had carpet and I'm glad to see it go. The wood is much easier to clean, especially with Maggie and all of these kitty cats. That's about it for me. Hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!

It's so funny. I can't imagine how someone would react if they knew I was still basically in full Christmas mode right now. It's morning, I'm about to get ready to go to work, and here I am listening to the last bits of Sounds of the Season Holiday, drinking my coffee, and just reminiscing at the fact that exactly two weeks ago it was Christmas morning. Last night I went through a lot of my DVR recordings from December and sort of watched a medley of some of my favorite scenes and music in various Christmas movies. And as I go into work a little bit later I'm sure Christmas is about the last thing on everyone's mind, yet here I am about to walk in there and in my own head and home I've just finished a very active Christmas celebration. And not a single person would be the wiser. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I care in the least what others think, that's not the point of this post, it's just crazy to me to think how you never really truly know what's going on in someone else's mind.

This first week or two of January is still so close to it having recently been the holidays that I just can't quite get it out of my head. I'm in that nostalgic state where I try to remember exactly what I was doing at various points during the season and try to somewhat recreate those moments in my home, if only briefly, to remember what it was like throughout December.

Relaxing watching the first playoff game. Football always reminds me of the holidays (and by holidays, I mean all the "Ber's" months, of course!!).

It's so funny when you're having a conversation with someone and you refer to something about "The Holidays", but in your mind what you're referring to is something in Sept, Oct, early Nov, or even early January for that matter, and you get that semi confused look from the person you're talking to as they're not quite sure why you mentioned the holidays. Sometimes I'll take the time to explain, sometimes I won't. Or like even with friends or something during those times I mentioned, sometimes I'll want to stay in and do my own thing, reason being that it's, of course, "The Holidays", but in most people's minds it totally isn't, so I kind of have to come up with a different excuse as to why I can't go out.

Happy Sunday! How is everyone doing?

Just got done packing away the two trees ... only a few scraps of Christmas around the house now, like some cookie tins that I can't find space for. Also trying to find space for the gifts we received. The outdoor lights will be staying there for a while, as we got about 8 inches of snow yesterday and I don't feel like climbing a stepstool in the 6-degree wind chill to take them down. I may unplug them, though, to disappoint the electric company. They get enough money when we aren't burning extra lights.

So cold and snowy and bright out there, it really feels as though we should be putting UP the decorations instead of taking them down! But it's time to leave this Christmas behind and start moving toward the next one, and putting away the decorations points me in that direction.

We may go out for some lunch today, after hunkering down indoors all day yesterday.

How nice that you are renovating your bedroom. I've never liked carpets, except area rugs. I'm sure you'll love your new wood floors. Hope you've had a great day HMG.

sounds so nice. I love floors with no carpet too, you are right so much easeir to clean.
I finished remaking the shears for the livingroom window. They are now shorter and have lace on the bottom, I like it much better.

We took our lights down outside last week when we had a lovely sunny day.
It is very snowy here too with more coming tonight.
I have a ham and scalloped potatoes baking in the oven, smelling good in here.
