Howdy All,

Full disclosure:
I'm watching Elf and sipping candy cane tea as I work. That is all ... hope all is well, happy 2017.

CK
That is the right way to be enjoying a January night.

Hi !
Christmas was fine. Talked to my niece in Utah, went to a Christmas Eve Vigil Mass at St. Anthony's Shrine here in Boston. Christmas dinner plan didn't quite work out so had a crispy chicken salad at Burger King. Lots of people came through BK. Next year I'll spruce up the room I live in for Christmas Eve. Christmas Day I'll put on the Ritz, take a good murder mystery and go to a jazzy joint for dinner. Then go home and watch a DVD or two. One year I watched a real Christmas classic: The Lion in Winter - now there's a great life or two for you !
New Year's Eve was very quiet. Boston Common was quiet as a churchyard at noon; people and vendors tripping over each other by 4:00PM. Midnight was almost as quiet as noon, but the Christmas lights were almost stereophonically bright - which made up for the relative quiet.
Hope everyone had a pluperfect good time this season!
PS: Finished my 19th of 20 blankets crocheted for CrittersForComfort.org. If you like animals and can crochet, knit quilt etc. check out CFC on the internet.

Good evening,

It feels weird the first night in a long time to not turn on my outdoor lights, slowly the Christmas will be put into hibernation.
I am still not feeling well, almost 3 weeks now of fighting this virus, but today I was dealing with dizzy spells.
NCGunny, I made a calendar on Shutterfly, I was sent a promo code for a free calendar and took advantage of it. I made mine of all pictures of Christmas trees. Thanks for the idea, I can't wait until it gets here.
We are now 40 days out from our Disney trip, that has really cleared up the remaining PCB's, we are down to a few weeks until we start packing and shopping for the trip. Getting excited about it n9w.

I hope you all had a great day.

Goodnight, friends

Good Morning and Merry Tuesday!

I feel a little bit disconnected as I can't spend enough time here catching up with everyone. I really hope everyone is well. Thinking of you all. Sorry if I have missed anything important.

Arctic blast heading our way bringing with it severe cold and thundersnow by end of week! Brrrrr

Morning! Hope everyone had a good Monday. Mine flew. I was so busy at work and today will be the same. It's cold out but not as brutal as yesterday. Should be warmer this afternoon and then even much milder Wednesday through Friday. Bring it on I say. A January thaw is what I need right now. Still plenty of Christmas lights out there. Keep them going. Love seeing them in January.
Have a great day!

Good Morning, Friends.
Plowing along through January now, with our next Milestone clearly in sight.

Days to the Season: 307
Days to Christmas Day: 349

And in fact that marker, the 300-day Season Window, stands just 7 days ahead now.
Precisely one week to go.
(We have indeed advance efficiently so far!)

It remained below 30 degrees all day yesterday and most of the ice is still with us.
This morning has again started off quite cold at 25 degrees but by late moning, we should finally move over the freezing mark and on past 40 to get some melting going!

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Everybody!

Thanks Crown! We made it to Double Digits January!

Good morning MMC!! Merry Tuesday!! We woke up covered in ice!!! Schools are all closed...but my work never called to tell me not to come in. Boooo! Ha ha!! I heard it coming down - along with wind - all night long!! But it's supposed to be 44º with rain today so it won't be sticking around too long!

Good thing we got mom out of the NH last night while the weather was still descent! We had a really nice meal. Good time, good food. Mom was glad to get out of there for awhile!! I also invited Moms friend/neighbor (my Mom #2) so they were happy to see each other.

Everyone, have a great Tuesday!!!

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

I love seeing all the new and seldom-seen posters! It's great to have you all, and I hope you're with us for the duration!

I didn't expect it to be in the 20's again this morning. I turned off the pool pump yesterday afternoon, thinking the freezing weather was behind us. I walked outside this morning to a thick coat of frost on my truck. I turned on the pool pump with my fingers crossed, hoping the pipes weren't frozen, but it ran normally. Whew!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Polar Bear swim in Feb?

ppssshhh "still" ...

I know she'll love it!

Not one person asked about my tree still being up!! :) (they probably weren't too surprised. LOL)
:tree:

I think she did love it. Now I'm sure she really wants to come home. Maybe this weekend we can get her home for awhile if the weather is fit! xx

I can't believe this. Woke up this morning to 10 degrees and still some snow on the ground. Thursday is predicted to be 71. That is quite a jump.
The weather is crazy again this year.

Good evening all.

Well, today is Monday. Not a bad day today, just...Monday. I always feel like Tuesdays are worse than Mondays. You know Monday is coming, you kinda prepare for it. But Tuesday! It's not Monday, it kinda sneaks up on you. It is sooo far from the weekend, and you are extra tried because of Monday. Of course, then there is Wednesday, you ca see the end is near. Thursday, you can make it. Friday, you are practically done. But Tuesday....

In the weather world... we are expecting a little freezing rain tonight. Then a major warmup and then the potential for a major ice event this weekend. I am not a fan of the ice really. I would prefer snow and lots of it![/QUOTE]
I couldn't agree more!! Bring on the snow!! (keep the ice)

Oh, I do feel sad at this time of year....I love this site for cheering me up!
Took the very last of the decorations down today.
My best wishes to everyone!
Hope your PCB's aren't too bad this year!! Always sad to take decorations down!! Hope your January is going well!!

Good morning! We had a surprise school closing this morning. A bit of ice moved in overnight and put a solid glaze down. I thought we might get a delay, which we did at first, but then CLOSED. While the air temperature is 35, the ground is still very cold and holding on to the ice. All the schools in the area ended up closing.

Everyone have a great day!

The only thing that is getting me through this boring January is the NFL playoffs! Thankfully I have football to distract me from the fact that the holidays are over! I think I will make it a goal to work on making some new Christmas ornaments for yet another tree I can put up this coming season (my husband says I put up too many as it is but I don't think you can ever have too many Christmas trees!) That way, I can take my time on the ornaments but still do something Christmas all year! Because when the super bowl is over, the year drags for me until September.
Never too many tree's! :D

I just pulled up the comfort for critters website. What a great thing!! I have A LOT of leftover yarn.... (but also a lot of projects started...)

Good Tuesday morning! Temperatures slightly up this morning but it will REALLY warm up by tomorrow. Lots of snow predicted tonight, while I'll be at work. We went to the movies last night (we go 2-3 times a year) and saw Rogue One. I'm a big Star Wars fan and really enjoyed it. Taking it easy this morning, catching up on our dvr a bit. Hope everyone will have a wonderful day!
