GM MMC!! Merry Tuesday! My usual work today and my youngest is supposed to have basketball practice but she is fighting a cold so I may keep her home....we'll see. Hope you all have a great day!
Hope your youngest is feeling better quick! Have a great day SFM!!

I like surprise days off. I could be productive and do some reading or grading, but no. Instead, I am relaxing and watching boxing videos.
Relaxing, & watching tv sounds great...but I would choose a Christmas video! :):) ENJOY!

Where in Hawaii will you stay/go Holiday? Hubby and I celebrated our 15th anniversary late December and we are looking into treating ourselves to a nice vacation this year. Hawaii is definitely on the short list. My in-laws will be going late January as well. I'm currently doing some research.
I don't have a lot of details, I'm along for the ride! ;) But we are flying into Kona, staying on the big island @ Waikoloa. I think we are signed up for a Luau, but I'm not sure what our other adventures will be! I hope you get to go too. Exciting to plan!!

The day is not over yet, I can see Christmas with the Kranks or A Christmas Carol in my future today! :D
Perfect!!!
I'm getting together with a friend Thursday night to watch "Holiday Inn"

Hi !
Christmas was fine. Talked to my niece in Utah, went to a Christmas Eve Vigil Mass at St. Anthony's Shrine here in Boston. Christmas dinner plan didn't quite work out so had a crispy chicken salad at Burger King. Lots of people came through BK. Next year I'll spruce up the room I live in for Christmas Eve. Christmas Day I'll put on the Ritz, take a good murder mystery and go to a jazzy joint for dinner. Then go home and watch a DVD or two. One year I watched a real Christmas classic: The Lion in Winter - now there's a great life or two for you !
New Year's Eve was very quiet. Boston Common was quiet as a churchyard at noon; people and vendors tripping over each other by 4:00PM. Midnight was almost as quiet as noon, but the Christmas lights were almost stereophonically bright - which made up for the relative quiet.
Hope everyone had a pluperfect good time this season!
PS: Finished my 19th of 20 blankets crocheted for CrittersForComfort.org. If you like animals and can crochet, knit quilt etc. check out CFC on the internet.
Avid crocheter here! Thanks for the link!
Oops ... the link doesn't work for me. Shouldn't that be ComfortForCritters.org??

I just pulled up the comfort for critters website. What a great thing!! I have A LOT of leftover yarn.... (but also a lot of projects started...)
I've seen unfinished projects referred to online as UFOs---unfinished objects!
The stash of leftovers can be a blessing or a curse. Those little balls that are too long to throw out, but too short to work with without tons of ends to weave in ... I started a stash of granny squares to use those up, but it takes me years to get enough squares to make an afghan! I also wind up frogging unfinished scrap afghans to make a new scrap afghan. Then I get bored and abandon THAT for a REAL afghan pattern! Well, it's all enjoyable, anyway!

I turned off the few outside lights I still had up last night too. There are still some solar lights around the shrubs out front but they never really did work all that great. I'll be taking them down after this ice melts!
Nice to have vaca to look forward too. We'll be heading to Hawaii next month. I haven't even had a chance to think about it. Guess I better start, huh?!?
I bet you'll love Hawaii! Prepare to entertain yourself on a long flight, though.
If you go to Hilo, have a loco moco at Ken's House of Pancakes, and listen for the shout of "Sumo!!" whenever someone orders a "sumo"-sized item!

I have talked to people that are able to find it almost all year. By the time I knew it could be frozen it was to late...stores had stopped getting it in. I suspect the stuff some people get all year might be the imitation 'Nog.
Remember, you can whip up a single serving pretty easily with a cup of milk, an egg, a Tbsp or two of sugar, and vanilla. (And whatever else you add to eggnog!) Beat the ingredients well, or use a stick blender, or put them in a regular blender.

Kona is on the sunny side of the Big Island! We haven't been there, but Gloria has, and she raves about it.

Good Morning, Friends.
Plowing along through January now, with our next Milestone clearly in sight.

Days to the Season: 307
Days to Christmas Day: 349

And in fact that marker, the 300-day Season Window, stands just 7 days ahead now.
Precisely one week to go.
(We have indeed advance efficiently so far!)

It remained below 30 degrees all day yesterday and most of the ice is still with us.
This morning has again started off quite cold at 25 degrees but by late moning, we should finally move over the freezing mark and on past 40 to get some melting going!

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Everybody!
Thxs Crown! Doing a great job with the count again this year.

Pheww...thxs for reminding me I need to order a new stick blender. I seem to be buying junk ones..lol

Well I have quite a few UFO's at my house then. LOL! Love it! ;)

I have the same problem you do!! I'm not good at granny squares though b/c I don't have the patience to sew (or crochet) them together!!

Yes, I am not looking forward to the flight. I am an antsy traveler...and that is a LONG day of flying!!! My SIL gave me "A Dogs Purpose" to read & she is sending the 2nd book in the series also. I also have some books & movies downloaded to my kindle.
Ken's House of Pancakes & the Loco Moco looks interesting!! Thanks for the tip!

The travel agent said the other side of the Island is typically more rainy! Hopefully we have good weather.
