Good morning MMC!
Merry Tuesday!
I didn't get a chance to post yesterday, the past few days have been busy. We ran around all weekend looking at places to have my daughters engagement party. She made a decision and we booked a date for the end of May. I kind of wish it could have been a bit sooner but that was the closest availability. Spring is such a busy time for parties. It will give us plenty of time to prepare. My daughter and her fiancée wanted to wait until the warmer weather anyway.
Not too much going on here today. I have an early doctor appointment to go over some test results. Other than that it will be a typical day of errands and chores. It's going to be a chilly day, we're expecting a mix of rain and snow. Hopefully I'll be back home before that starts. That's about it for me.
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Good Morning, Fair Weather Friends.

(And, of course, the weather here at MMC is always fair!)

But to be completely fair, we must consider the wind direction.......and it is definitely blowing toward our second Milestone of 2017!

Days to the Season: 286
Days to Christmas Day: 328

And just how close are we to that next marker (the ONE QUARTER point to the Season)? Well, it's on February 12 and that is now just TWELVE days away.
Nearly down to SINGLE DIGITS!
(Woo Hoo!!)

Well, we are a bit on the cold side here this morning, commencing the day at 39 degrees.
It is sunny, however, and we should warm up pretty close to 60 by this afternoon.
Tomorrow is predicted to be even warmer before the cold air returns.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Everybody!

Hello I'm new here to the forum and am really happy to have found the site. I began noticing about nine years ago after Christmas had passed just how much I missed it. I live in the northeast where January and February are cold and kinda flat following the Christmas season. Nine years ago I began my own little countdowns looking ahead to the next holiday season. I started out with telling myself 36 ten day stretches would get me back to five days from Christmas and somehow that sounded like not such a long wait. I Also told myself there are only 26 two week stretches in a year and that also didn't seem to bad seeing how two weeks goes so fast. Since then I have focused on 1/4, 1/3,halftime, 2/3 and 3/4 marks. My big goal every year seems to be to reach August 1, which brings a new football season, and puts so many great holidays within reach such as Halloween, Thanksgiving and of course Christmas! Kinda nice I can say it's halfway to August 1 in just a couple days now. Anyway to make a long story short I was happy to find this group that seems to enjoy counting it down in the same way I do! I really find the grind through the year is kind of as fun as the season itself. Once Christmas season arrives it is epic, but goes by in a flash putting us right back in January, and so it is important to enjoy all times of the year. I look forward to counting down 2017 with you! Take care to everyone.
Good Morning Jason. As I am certain many of the MMC family have already welcomed you, please allow me to do the same. I had found this site a long time ago, but had not "officially" joined until last July. I am not huge into the world of social media and a lot of the stuff I use to read on Facebook had me shutting down my account in less than a month. But here it is so different. It is a community. It is a family. It is a caring, sharing group of people who hold the true spirit of Christmas in their hearts all year long (just like you). We celebrate the good times of each and try to help bear the burdens of those when times can be difficult.
I also have counted down over the years. In fact at my local place of employment, the people there are so use to it, that hardly a week will go by when someone does not ask me how long till Christmas?
That is also why of the hundreds of songs about Christmas and the season in general (which I listen to all year long), one of my all time favorites is the Andy Williams version of "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year."
Again, welcome and be sure to jump in now and then, we would love to hear from you...

Thanks Crown! Have a great last day of January!

Good evening,

We had a scare today our old man, Merlin, who will be 18 in 2 weeks, we thought he was possibly going to be leaving us. My wife brought him to the vet this afternoon, he turns out to be as healthy as a horse. He was suffering from some severe arthritis pain in his back, he could barely walk and do other things he does daily. The vet gave him a prescription for some pain pills, he had one and is back to his normal self tonight. We are very relieved.
Work was rough, had a power outage, never fun.
February is almost here.

Goodnight, everyone
Very glad to hear that Merlin is ok! What kind of breed is he? He's built tough, that's for sure.

Morning MMC! Can't believe it's the last day of January already! Geez. Usually this month drags so much to me yet somehow this year it went faster than December did I think. We are expecting 1-3 inches of snow today for a change. We haven't had too much this winter so it might be nice for everything to get covered up a bit as long as the roads don't get too slippery. Other than that just continuing my busy work week. Ordered a 3 foot italian sub for Sunday's Superbowl, got my chips, wings and now pretty much waiting for it to get here.
Hope everyone has a great last day of January!
Your Superbowl menu sounds awesome! Superbowl is for the game AND for the food. I don't watch a lot of football but I always watch the big game with hubby. Still haven't decided on the food though. Who do you think has the edge between the Falcons and Patriots? Can't wait for Sunday (and the weekend) to get here.

Good Tuesday morning! David is back at work this morning, he got the ok from the doctor but he has another appointment in two weeks. The doctor is surprised at how quickly he seems to have healed, he says those types of injuries usually take 4-5 months. I do hope David does take it easy at work, he's the type to go all out and I don't want him to re-injure his shoulder. I'm working the afternoon/evening shift so I'm taking care of a few things for work and preparing supper. I have to go in for the oil change on our car too. Hope everyone will have a great day!

I think New England is the better team overall. Hope it's a good game though and yeah the food is definitely a big part of the Superbowl (just like the holidays).

Good morning MMC!!! Merry Tuesday!!!! It's a dreary, chilly, windy 'ol day!!!

I don't know about ya'll but we've been planning and working on Christmas 2017 since our 2016 has been taken down and put away. Been busy changing items over to LED lights from incandescent, also bought many new items, still in the boxes, waiting for more lights to arrive any day now LOL
Now THAT'S a plan! :D

A three-foot Italian sub, wings AND chips?!? I guess you'll need a couple 2 liter Cokes to wash all that down? LOL!

If David is like me, I know he's happy to get that release to return to work. Good for him!

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

As a public accountant, Nancy is busy with tax season, so I took Elizabeth to dance last night. While she was dancing, I made a trip to WalMart, then I hung out at Krispy Kreme with a doughnut and a cup of coffee until it was time to pick her up. When she got in the car, she asked what smelled so good. It's just me! LOL

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

I love Krispy Kremes...they are so light you can definitely eat more than one..lol
Have a good day!

Happy Tuesday!!
My kids are getting out of school early due to the 1-3 inches of snow we are supposed to get and of course all activities are canceled which it is nice to have the night off.
I am hoping to squeeze in a work out before the snow starts, otherwise just work for me.
My house looks so bare without my tree up but oh well it will be back up before you know it.
Hard to believe this is the last day of January! Have a good day!
