good moning mmc !
got my old computer out, but it takes a long time to post because keyboard is broken so I have to type with an on screen keyboard. if you never used one it is the worlds slowest way to type, but it is working!

Morning MMC! Back to work for me after a 3 day weekend. Looks like we will see some rain today. Thursday now they are predicting some snow. I'm not sure how much because one station is saying lighter snow and one is saying heavier snow. I'm hoping for the lighter snow station! But we will see by then. Other than that Superbowl leftover food is delicious. Hope everyone's Monday was ok and that their Tuesday is fine too. Have a great day!
Merry Tuesday! Watched the big game on Sunday and came out disappointed for the Falcons. Life goes on. Later this evening they are predicting snow and a lot of freezing rain again. Just great for when I finish work at 9:30pm. I'm training a manager returning from a long-term sick leave for a couple of days, which means going in early to do my own work. Just trying to relax a bit this morning. Have a great day everyone!

Closing fast now on 2017 Milestone marker number two!
Days to the Season: 279
Days to Christmas Day: 321
FIVE short days from today will see us complete the first quarter of our journey to the Season and move us into quarter number two.
(Do you feel ready for this pending transition? Well, ready or not, it's coming up fast!)
Pretty darn nice here yesterday with highs in the 60's, plenty of sun, no rain and just the slightest of breezes.
Today will be even warmer and tomorrow about the same before more seasonable weather returns.
(There's no hurry, Mother Nature. Take your time.)
We currently see 52.7 degrees here on our digital back door thermometer, the sun is shining and the birds are singing.

I stayed home from work today because JP caught that nasty norovirus going around, he was up all night. LC had it Saturday, and now I am feeling a little uneasy, I can't afford to take another day off. I took advantage of the day off today and put away the final decorations that were still up. I will probably be accused of calling out because of the Super Bowl, and I didn't even watch a second of it.Darn Kitten Bowl IV.
The Nyquil is taking hold now, I hope you all had a great day.

GM MMC...we had some freezing rain overnight and my kids got the day off!! I was shocked, I thought maybe a delay but they canceled so they are just lounging around. Looks like Thursday we may get some snow too...weird winter for sure. Hope everyone has a great day!

Elizabeth got over the flu, then Nancy got it. Nancy seems to be feeling a little better this morning, as long as she keeps the Motrin/Tylenol alternating and flowing. I'm just trying to dodge that bullet. The whole house feels infected!
I have to take Elizabeth back to dance again tonight since Nancy is out of commission.
It seems like @Holiday could drop by. I know there's internet available in Hawaii. What could possibly be taking all of her attention?

Good morning Tracy and welcome to our ever growing community. I do miss the aroma of fresh cut trees (though not the pine needles). My two biggest reasons fir going artificial were that of course you can out them up earlier and keep them up longer, but also many of the newer ornaments (1990 and up) were a bit too heavy for the limbs on a real tree. The ball ornaments did fine, but I got into collecting some of the Hallmark series and they would have to all be put to the bottom. Thank goodness "pine" room sprays and candles have come such a long way...
Drop by more often, we would love to hear from you.
We all hope he feels better soon. I'm sure he feels some comfort now, knowing Dad is at his side.
Morning Mom. Yes, this has been a weird winter, even here in the mid-west. Yesterday it was in the forties, now three days below freezing and then a week that begins in the fifties and stays between that and the upper 30's. Not that I am complaining here of course. Maybe that one extension cord under the ice in my front yard will get thawed... lol

Morning Minta. You are not alone. In fact I have commented to my wife on how bright the LED lights are. I have a few sites where I still buy the older style and even found one that has the very old C7 twinkle lights. They are going up this next year.Good Afternoon ... Ok it's official .. Football is done for the season and I am ready to rush through the next several months until we get back to the BER months
Over the weekend we saw a house with their Christmas tree still up and lit-up in their front window .. brought a smile to my face. Well I think what my issue has been for the past few Christmases .. We had been slowing buy the indoor led colored lights to replace some of older lights that have stopped working. While the LED colors are pretty and very bright they are just not the same. While we were packing up Christmas and purging I did find a few new boxes of the regular color lights that we bought a couple years ago but forgot about. I think this year I will swap out the indoor LED color lights with the traditional color lights. They just seem more warm and inviting to me. Maybe I am just getting to set in my way with what I like LOL ....

When I use the older mini lights on the big tree. I usually put up between 500 and 700 lights and at least one of them will be motion style so thet there is some "twinkle" between all the solid colors.

Good morning Christmasstar. I understand, got my state-of-the-art 2006 Compaq with Vista on it... works like a charm...
