Christmas Countdown - 2017

Good Afternoon ... Ok it's official .. Football is done for the season and I am ready to rush through the next several months until we get back to the BER months I was disappointed with the outcome of the game. I don't hate the Patriots but I am just tired of seeing them win.

Over the weekend we saw a house with their Christmas tree still up and lit-up in their front window .. brought a smile to my face. Well I think what my issue has been for the past few Christmases .. We had been slowing buy the indoor led colored lights to replace some of older lights that have stopped working. While the LED colors are pretty and very bright they are just not the same. While we were packing up Christmas and purging I did find a few new boxes of the regular color lights that we bought a couple years ago but forgot about. I think this year I will swap out the indoor LED color lights with the traditional color lights. They just seem more warm and inviting to me. Maybe I am just getting to set in my way with what I like LOL ....

How so? You switched from traditional colors, to LEDs, and back again. Sounds open and flexible...

My wife called me at work to let me know she made the decision. I had a feeling that was what it was going to be, I had said my goodbye and told him I loved him before I left in the morning. It was the one day I could not call out, even though my wife asked me to stay home to go with her. It was too busy with it being the first weekend of the month and Super Bowl eve.
I broke down and cried for 30 minutes at work thinking of all the great memories of Merlin.

The trek across the Rainbow Bridge is always tough on our animals' bi - ped friends. Feel better soon.

I am the same way Minta. I even tried LED's that are like the mini's in shape. They just dont fit my style for Christmas. I like the fact they have a long life but since I buy my mini bulbs by the 500 ct. it is of no consequence to me at this time. And lets face it...you can get 150 mini strands on clearance for 2.00. So even if you threw em out and bought new every year its very little cost.

I usually get all my blossom lights at yard sales cheap. I strip out the little blossom plastic holders and use them in my own light sets.

Hi! My first post here. I love the milestone chart! ♥ The way the weeks fly by, it'll be time to visit the tree farm in no time at all. I need to get this year's tree out of the house! Live trees are not meant to stay up this long. We cut it the weekend after Thanksgiving. I'm looking forward to interacting with like minded people.

That's the only bad thing about a real tree; they don't last very long. Still, it's worth it to me to smell that fresh-cut scent. I don't even mind all the sap on my hands.

We took Carolina to the Dr today since she doesn't seem to be 100%yet. They said it was just a cold but testes her for strep since she said her throat hurt. The rapid came back negative but we are waiting in the lab result now. I hope everyone had a great dayear. We are baking cookies now

I stayed home from work today because JP caught that nasty norovirus going around, he was up all night. LC had it Saturday, and now I am feeling a little uneasy, I can't afford to take another day off. I took advantage of the day off today and put away the final decorations that were still up. I will probably be accused of calling out because of the Super Bowl, and I didn't even watch a second of it. Darn Kitten Bowl IV.
The Nyquil is taking hold now, I hope you all had a great day.
