Morning MMC! We are in the calm before the storm. Right now they are predicting 6-10 inches of snow on Thursday with a winter storm warning. I'm not really excited about that but we can't complain as we have not had a ton of snow this winter. We were kind of due to get a snowstorm at some point. At least they say the storm will hit fast and move out by later Thursday. I'm not sure if I will make it to work or not then as there are hills where I live and my car is not too good in snow. Will see what my coworkers plan on doing tomorrow. For today I plan on getting a slice of pizza. Yes it's the little things that matter. Oh I saw last night 3 houses in a ROW lit up on a street not far from me with Christmas lights. Wow friendly competition to see who will be the last to take them down? I hope everyone has a great day!

Good Wednesday morning! We didn't get as much freezing as we thought, thank goodness, so it's not as bad as I feared this morning. We have a Valentine'd Day themed bake sale at work starting Sunday, so I'm looking for ideas online right now. Enjoy your day everyone!

And to everyone feeling under the weather, hope you all feel better soon.

Good Morning, Happy Hunters.

And we are -- all of us -- in a never-ending hunt for the next Christmas Season.
Clues appear daily in the form of our count figures, and tantalizing Milestone markers keep the search exciting.

Today's clue:
Days to the Season: 278
Days to Christmas Day: 320

And the next marker point?
Why, it's none other than the ONE QUARTER Season Milestone, number two on our chart.
What's more, it's now only FOUR DAYS AWAY, barely over HALF A WEEK off!
(Tantalizing indeed.)

Incredible day yesterday! The sun shone, the winds were calm, no precipitation of any kind appeared, and the temps rose into the mid 70's.
Birds sang, dogs barked, children screamed, and all was right in our part of the great MMC Nation.
Today? More of the same!
(Then cold again, but we won't talk about that now and spoil the moment.)
Currently, we perceive 57 degrees here. It's cloudy right now but that should soon clear away.

Carl? Well he's feeling so chipper owing to the recent fantastic weather, he is going to give away not one, but TWO free fired twinkies and offer bottomless sweet southern iced tea to all Shispering Pines visitors at this evening's open house.
(Better take advantage of this opportunity, Folks! I certainly intend to.)

In the meantime, you have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everybody!

Thanks Crown! Enjoy that spring weather!

Good Morning, MMC!! Well it looks like its my turn to be sick. I've been downing meds all night though so hopefully I can kick it before it gets to bad. After 60 degree temps yesterday, winter is back too. We are in the low 30's now and just going to keep dropping throughout the day too. It looks like 3 inches of snow this afternoon too. I guess I can't complain. We've only had 6 inches all winter so far. I hope everyone is having a great day!!!

GM MMC...happy Pines!! We are under a Winter Storm Warning as well with 6-10 inches of snow. Like Edge said we can't really complain too much as we have had a mild winter. Crazy that the weather is going to be in the 50's today!
Enjoy your day!

Feel better Made. Indeed it seems like everyone at MMC has been sick at some point this year already!

This thread certainly has legs...In February no less. Impressive....We use traditional color lights indoors and LEDs outside. We found some LED lights that are nubs. They throw color spots on the house. Its more interesting than the uniform projector lights.

I am not a big fan of those projector lights. Oh my thought have been on this Christmas since last Christmas. The last couple years really have not FELT like Christmas and that just bugs me. So I have been thinking about what has been different and what we can do different this year to bring back that nostalgic feeling. I have always LOVED Christmas lights especially the traditional colored ones and greenery with big Red Ribbon/Bows so this year I am going to focus on those. Electric bill may be a bit higher but it will be worth it...

Good morning MMC ~
Happy Pines Day!
It's going to be a mild day with highs near 60 degrees. The temperatures will drop this evening and the snow will begin early tomorrow morning. We're expecting up to 10 inches as of right now here on the island. I need to run out for pet friendly ice melt at some point today, hopefully I won't have a problem finding it. My daughter had an appointment tomorrow with an oral surgeon, regarding her wisdom teeth. I just rescheduled, can't see driving there in a snow storm. Nothing is bothering her so it won't be a problem to wait a couple of weeks. Anyway, just having a cup of coffee right now and relaxing for a few minutes before I head back out to pick Maggie up from the groomer. Not a whole lot going on today. I'll be working on my daily chores and I may squeeze in a trip to Target. That's about it for me.
Continued thoughts and prayers for all who are unwell.
Wishing everyone a wonderful day!
xx

Good Afternoon, Everyone!!!! Lots of prayers for everyone who is sick or experiencing bad weather. I went to an Amish grocery store this morning and got a 50 pound bag of potatoes for $3. Talk about a deal. So everyone is invited over for a giant batch of potato soup!!! LOL!!! I hope everyone is having a great day!!!!!
Not bad. In Grand Forks, ND the University each year tries to out do the record for the most French Fries cooked. Maybe you could try that with an MMC record... :D

Good evening,

I have come down with a virus, I missed work today against my wishes. The boys are better, but the ice storm last night made school be canceled today. I have a scheduled day off tomorrow so another day of rest to get over this virus.
We have what may be the largest winter storm of the season coming in tomorrow night, they are saying 8-14 inches are expected through Thursday night. That's after temperatures that are expected to be in the 50's tomorrow during the day.

I am heading to bed.

Goodnight, everyone
My prayers for a rapid recovery. And be careful with that virus and any thoughts of shoveling snow...

Morning HMG. A blustery 5 degrees here, with an expected high of 16. But, if the weather holds up, we will have a nice warm up beginning Friday. Having my coffee as well and just finished my first day back at work after my nine day break. Only problem is that I did not sleep that much before the scheduled time (up at 6:30AM, two hours of rest and then a 10PM-7AM shift) so I may be calling it quits very soon.
Have a great day and get your stuff done early. No need to battle the storm when a warm house and a coffee pot is available...

Morning Edge. One slice? One burger I can understand, but just one slice? Well, maybe if it this size...

Enjoy my friend.

Stay bundled up with the family Mom. Yes, weird is the best word for the season thus far. We are going from teens to the fifties on Friday.

That's the spirit Minta. I even took one tree and added those strands of icicle to it. Talk about nostalgia...
My electric bill goes up a few notches during December and January, but as you say... it has always been worth it.
