Christmas Countdown - 2017

We were the same age and in the same graduation class, I lived with him and his family after my mother passed, so we were like brothers growing up. The last time I saw him was Christmas 1994, he lived in Germany for a number of years, and then Florida. I will miss him. RIP MJP

Happy Saturday!
It's going to be a beautiful day, sunny with a high of 52 degrees. Not too much going on here today. I need to do some food shopping this morning. I have to run a couple of other errands this afternoon and I'll be working on some chores around the house. Definitely going to take a couple walks with Maggie and enjoy the nice weather. Just relaxing tonight, we're ordering pizza and watching a hockey game. That's about it. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!
 
Morning MMC! Happy Saturday! It' going to be a high of 55 here with mostly sunny skies. Yes it is still February but sure won't feel like it this weekend. Definitely some spring fever going on today here. Just a small sign of great weather to come this upcoming spring and summer. Just have some normal errands to do for a Saturday nothing too special. Have a great Saturday and weekend!

And praise be! We are zeroing in on 2017 Milestone marker number three.
Details just ahead.

First, the daily data, presented without any commercial interruption:
Days to the Season: 268
Days to Christmas Day: 310

And miracles of miracles, we open our eyes and perceive that TOMORROW, we will be down to SINGLE DIGITS to the 300-day Christmas Day Window.
Then. Then!
BOTH our Season and Christmas Day counts will begin with a "2"!
(Can this be believed? I'll let you decide. But if you waver, just check out our post number one Milestone Marker chart for the answer to this question, as well as for future exciting news regarding other pending markers!)


The warm-up is here and we reached well into the 60's yesterday, which lent itself to getting some much needed outdoor work completed.
Today and tomorrow will see the 70 degree barrier broken for an appreciated respite from winter (not that it has been particularly bad this year.)
Currently, our back door thermometer tells me it is 47 degrees here in the capital city and the capital county of the great state of North Carolina.

Good morning, MMC! What was supposed to be a glorious day has turned into a rainy mess. With that being said, it will not dampen our spirit. Our basketball team won a huge game last night and I am still on cloud 9. Going to try to find time outside today...someone gave me around 50 pallets, so I need to go get them and break them down. I'm going to build some planter boxes for my front yard and some other things. Should be a fun day. But first, I think I'm going to take a little nap. We didn't get home until 2:00 a.m., so I'm pretty tired.

Thursday was a sad day for me.

As a little boy, I loved Christmas and I loved getting my family Christmas presents. Department 56 started the North Pole series with a Santa House, Elves House, and Reindeeer barn. I bought that for my Mom when I was in the 3rd grade. Each year since, I have bought my Mom one of these houses. She was always so proud of them and I can't tell you the amount of time I would stare at them each Christmas season. It filled my heart with joy to be able to do the same thing for my kids.

When she came home Thursday, the shelf that held all of her houses we had bought for her over the years, 100+, fell off the wall. No houses made it. Talk about breaking my heart....

That IS sad. Can they be repaired?
 
A quick hello to my MMC friends. Been having computer problems of late and even though it says I have been on here, nothing would load until today. Today sites are loading great.

It is a beautiful day out. Working on store stuff. According to the mall owner, all the vendors are having low sales. Hopefully the great weather (60*F) will bring out the shoppers.

What a sad thing to happen. The memories will always be there no matter what.

Oh my goodness, I'm so very sorry to hear that. Like the others have said, you have the memories. And the memories are forever.

We got in safely this morning, and spent the day relaxing, tomorrow we hit the parks. First up, The Magic Kingdom.
I have been up since 3am, everyone else is asleep, I am turning in for the night.
