Christmas Countdown - 2017

Good morning all.
Not much going on here today, which is great! Of course my son would tell you different, he has prom tonight. I am really glad that I have a boy who does not have to do much more than put on his suit. No make-up, no fancy hair and nails, no crazy expensive dress. Just a suit.

And these are exciting days here in the Nation as we close in on not one, but TWO Milestone markers!

First, to start things off on the right foot (or the left foot, if you prefer) we release today's figures, hot off the press:
Days to the Season: 205
Days to Christmas Day: 247

And the status of our pending dual markers?
Well......
First, we have the 1/3 Christmas Day marker, now just FOUR days up the road -- barely over HALF a week away, now!
Then, following by just ONE day, we will pass through the 200-day Season Window!
(Next week promises to be an exciting one, Guys. Don't miss it!)


We are stuck in a lovely rut here. The beautiful weather just won't let go of us, and we are very happy prisoners, indeed!
More of the same monotony today, I'm afraid. (All this nice weather is going to spoil us. Killing us softly, as it were.)
We are at 68 degrees here right now.

Good Saturday morning! I woke up around 6am but I fell back asleep sitting next to hubby on the couch. It's overcast right now but should clear up late afternoon. We have the patio door open a bit, getting some fresh air in and hearing birds chirping, it's always such a nice sound. Not much planned for today except a bit of housecleaning and catching up on the dvr. And maybe a night of movies later on. Hope everyone will enjoy a great weekend!

Good afternoon well Mother nature ruined our plans to do yard work today with her rain. Grass is growing like crazy. We did manage to clean up the garage some, still not 100 % clean/organized but it is a lot better then what it was. Brought in several more boxes to go through. We have been in this house for 1 1/2 yrs now and still have boxes to go through. Getting a bunch of stuff together to donate.

Its a lot chiller today too then it has been all week. Think the heater will have to be turned on during the next couple nights to keep the chill out of the house. I do however see another pot of coffee in my near future

Happy Sunday Morning all. Been a few very busy days since I last signed on. I took last night off from work to help out with the "Party for the Planet" celebration at the Great Plains Zoo here in Sioux Falls. It was a bight sunny day with highs in the upper 60's. Naturally being out in the sun for around 4.5 hours... I got a bit too much sun. Does not hurt (yet anyway) and we all had a good time, especially the children. Another beautiful day in store, so after church, I will try to get some more yard work done (but with a hat on). Monday looks to be a little on the relaxing side with only a few errands to run. Like our Mr. Edge, I really enjoy these three day weekends.
Have a spectacular Sunday everyone and I'll try to not be a stranger in the future...

Merry Sunday!
It's going to be partly cloudy today with temperatures in the upper 50's. We're currently at 45 degrees. I'm going to take Maggie for a walk after I finish my cup of coffee. Not too much going on here today. My husband will be busy with yard work. I have a couple of errands to run. I may stop at HomeGoods or Michaels while I'm out, I'm looking for a new wreath for my front door. Dinner will be baked ziti & meatballs, Italian bread and a tossed salad. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!

Good morning! Hope this finds you enjoying a beautiful, warm, sunny Sunday. If so, that means you aren't in my neck of the woods. Cold, rainy, and very wet here. BUT.....I've got some good news!

So, I love Crown and our awesome countdown here, but there is two more dates on my countdown. There is a countdown to Christmas preparations begin and a countdown until Christmas Tree night. Today, we are 100 days from August 1st. This is the day where we really start having serious talks about the holiday season, making plans, figuring out what to buy for who....it really gets those juices flowing for us. I didn't even realize it until last night when Doc told me. We still might be a long way from our time of the year, but we get a little closer with every passing minute.

It's very funny you say that because yesterday I was trying to figure out what day we will be 100 days till September 1...and also thinking how in the Holiday Hangout I would focus the entire month of August looking ahead to the Bers...because you're right August 1 is seriously when a lot of us probably start to get really excited when we're 1 month till the Bers...fresh off CIJ. Well Happy 100 days till the Christmas plans begin!

Right now it doesn't feel like August cause it's very chilly out this morning but the sun is shining after a damp and rainy Saturday. Looks like we'll have a nice day with temps into the mid 60s. Not much better than that in spring. I am hoping you all have a nice Sunday. Easter is already gone a week. Crazy.

We now find ourselves UNDER half a week away now from the ONE-THIRD Christmas Day marker and just barely over HALF a week off from the 200-DAY Season Window.

Had a few threatening clouds pass over yesterday but saw no rain. The moderate temps continued, and we decided to make use of the nice day by visiting the Lemur Center in nearby Durham, NC. Fascinating and exotic animals!
A pretty good chance of thunderstorms today and it should be much cooler - possibly not out of the 50's.
We record a current temperature of 56 degrees here at our house and we are wet from some overnight rain.

Greetings Ballcoach. I can identify with Tree night (or just decorating in general), but in my "leaner" days, I found it was much easier on the wallet if I made the list in January and then slowly filled each "stocking" as I became aware of their likes/desires and a few left-over bucks were available. As things got better, I just more or less kept the course. And yes... closer every moment.
