A very happy Tuesday to the entire MMC community. Life here has been just a bit hectic, but nothing out of the ordinary, just the household and yard tasks that come from this time of year (and letting things go a bit from last year). Once again the work week begins, but this will be shorter than normal. I will be taking a vacation day on Thursday to take Connie out to dinner for our 15th (the real vacation will be in December) and then Saturday as well to help out at the Zippity-Zoo-Day over at Great Plains Zoo.
Not a lot else going on. Like most, we have had our time of very hot weather and looks like we got our new A/C hooked up just in time. It will be cooling down some this week and I certainly hope and pray this is not a precursor for July and August.
I saw this photo and decided to share it. These are some very gutsy campers to say the least. Have a great week all...

Hi CG...hope you have a great week and enjoy your dinner!

Morning MMC! The heat continues here for 1 more day before it breaks on Wednesday. Looks like we could see a thunderstorm that would break it tonight. Back to work after a 3 day weekend but never fear another 3 day weekend in less than 2 weeks. Hope everyone is staying cool in the a.c. Hope you all have a great day today!
Have a great day, Edge!

Good Morning, Folks!

Time is getting short.
(By that, I mean the first half of our trip back to Christmas Day is almost over!)

Days to the Season: 153
Days to Christmas Day: 195

Yes, indeed. In UNDER two weeks now, we will pass the 50 percent mark and commence the downhill slide to Christmas Day 2017.
(And, of course, the second half of our Season count has been well under way for quite some time, now!)

We had another very warm and humid day yesterday, limiting the amount of time I can work out in the sun at my ever-advancing age. (Best for me to do things in stages instead of all at once!)
Today should be even hotter and we are predicted to move into the 90's by this afternoon.
For now, we are starting off at an already-warm 74 degrees here in our sector of the great MMC Nation.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Fellow Citizens!
Thanks Crown...we are moving ahead fast and furious!

People say that there shouldn't be any mountain lions in Georgia, but I saw one while I was deer hunting when I was a teenager. It was almost dark when it stepped into the field, looking up in my direction, and screamed at me. Luckily, dad pulled into the field to pick me up about that time. I was scared to death! We heard another one a few years ago not far from mom's house.

This is exactly what it sounds like:

Creepy!

Oh wow!! That is a terrible sound! Lol..my dogs were sound asleep on the couch and practically fell off the couch.

Festive, is the move not confirmed yet because the previous owners of your new house have not yet vacated the premises? You will be in your HOME before you know it, hang on to that thought. Have a great day.

Thanks Martine, appreciate your ongoing support through this.

It's our buyers that have been a little flaky. Our seller is pretty easy going. She is a lovely elderly lady selling so she can move in with her daughter after losing her husband in December. I have just found out that we are moving on the 22nd though and this time I think it's really happening!

My solicitor has also informed me that our buyers have now signed and exchanged contracts as well. It's a long and tedious process here in the UK. Also ,no one is legally bound to the sale until exchange of contracts. Either party can pull out at any time before. The whole process lasts about 12 weeks (or more) with exchange only happening 1-2 weeks before completion. I know people who got to the end only to have their buyers pull out so all very nerve wrecking! However peace of mind comes after exchange as they (and us) are now legally committed and if they did pull out last minute they stand to lose their deposit.

Eeek sorry if I have bored you lol !!!!

Merry Afternoon everyone!

What a crazy couple of days! Yesterday evening our solicitor rang to say the move would happen on Friday. I was frantically running around to finish pack etc, book removal van, organise utilities etc. !!! I had assumed it wasn't going to happen on Fri when I hadn't heard back from them over weekend. Anyway she rang me a couple hours later to say the buyers had been in touch to say they couldn't do friday after all!!!!(insert a few choice words here )

Anyway long story short we are moving on the 22nd now and it's been confirmed! It's happening!

I'm glad we have a few more days notice in between. The last thing I want is to part with the house in a rush. It was our first family home so it will be a bitter sweet day.

Hope you guys are having a great week.

Morning Gunny. We got a break in the action yesterday. The Lord indeed answers prayer. So far we are at 69 with an expected high of 81 and possible thunderstorms this afternoon. Hang in there, I'm sure relief will be on the way down the road...

Wow..that is crazy! Never a dull moment when you are in the moving process. Happy to hear you have a definite date. Enjoy your week!

Good Tuesday morning Iteach. What is/are his event(s). I use to love it when I was in Omaha and they had an indoor track at the gym. Keep cool and safe...

Good morning! They do a mile run, long jump and sprints. It is a small club through the local YMCA for youngsters, so it is really just an interest building program. But he enjoys it. He prefers the mile run and just did long jump for the first time on Monday.

They can practice at the indoor track at the local Y, but it is hot in there as well and gets too crowded so they only use that if there are storms.

Hello everyone!

Boy, I thought yesterday was hot and humid...Compared to today, yesterday was paradise. We went to the library this morning and it felt like we were swimming to the car. It was already in the 80s at 9:00am! The humidity was/is really high.
Then, I went back out about an hour ago and the strangest thing happened. It was completely sunny outside, no rain clouds... and then it started misting rain. It was almost like the air was so humid it was sweating! lol It was very strange.

I just came back in from cleaning the charcoal grill up and I was not moving much, but I was drenched in sweat when I was done. Can I please have 70 degree temperatures again? Please?!?!

Afternoon Festive. Thanks for the well wishes and congrats on finishing up the deal. Should give you time to get things sorted out before Christmas decorating arrives. ;)
Enjoy the week and hopefully a moment or two of rest between packing sessions...
