Christmas Countdown - 2017

Good Morning, Christmas Chasers and Season Supporters.

Inside a week, now!
(Details to follow.)

First we start, as always, with the daily numbers:
Days to the Season: 146
Days to Christmas Day: 188

And then there were six.
Yep, SIX.
The number of days remaining in the first HALF of our voyage back to Christmas and all of its splendor.
(Really close now, Folks!)



Still more rain yesterday but it was not extensive, and we had adequate sun for most of the day. (Of course, that boosted the temps a bit which combined with the already high humidity. All in all, not too unpleasant though, for mid June.)
Currently, we stand at 69 rather wet degrees after an overnight rain here in the capital city.

London has sadly been affected by many sad news and cruel attacks recently. It it home yesterday when one of my employees learned that her grandfather died at the site where a man drove a van into a crowd of people in front of a mosque. If you can spare a positive thought for her whole family, it would be greatly appreciated.

Not much going on at work today but there's lots to do at home to get ready for the fest! We got the tent set up over the patio last night - fits perfectly. Tonight I need to tackle the inside.

It it home yesterday when one of my employees learned that her grandfather died at the site where a man drove a van into a crowd of people in front of a mosque. If you can spare a positive thought for her whole family, it would be greatly appreciated.

It is so sad what has happened there lately. Prayers for everyone including your employee as she mourns the loss of her grandfather. So sad.

Good Morning Holiday. I'll go along with that. In my office the color TV that adorns my file cabinet is a Curtis Mathes. Bought in 1997 and still no problems with color or sound. Of course in some ways I suppose that is why they went out of business... you never needed to replace it.
Granted some of the "new fangled" devices won't work with it, but then I don't have that many of them anyway... lol.

We have a big heavy old big screen tv in our basement. Same thing - sound & picture are still really good. Hubby says that tv is not coming out of our basement in 1 piece. It was a back breaker for him & our friend to get it down there!

Greetings and felicitations to the MMC community. Tuesday it is, which means the start of another work week for me. But with only 2 years, 9 months and 8 days to go... I'll deal with it.
It was tough doing nothing yesterday, but I knew I had to and my back feels a lot better. I'll still keep a low key for this day so that I am ready for the 10PM start to my shift. May try to get a few things done in the garage. Last day of Spring with a high expected here in the 80's. I have my weekly Bible study this AM at 6. Other than that, things are well here in the Yager household and I pray the same can be said for everyone else. Have a very Happy end of Spring Tuesday...

Morning MMC! Happy Last Day of Spring although most of us have felt summer weather already! The humidity is high but dropping as we speak. It's supposed to be a nice afternoon with highs in the low 80s and partly sunny skies with low humidity. That would be nice if it continued all summer. Just a 2nd day at work this week and my coworker is out on vacation all week. But it was a quiet Monday and got a lot accomplished at work. Hope it continues into Tuesday. Have a great one!

The countdown is about to begin in earnest for our family. This is the last week of school, today is the last day of instruction and then exams Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning, Field Day after the morning exam with a bbq and outdoor races and games. Before you know it, it will be 4th of July and then .... Christmas in July!!!

@CGYager it's nice that the event at the zoo was a success. And it's a good thing you rested yesterday so that your back could feel better. I found out the hard way how important it is to listen to our body.

Good Tuesday morning! A rainy morning after a string of sunny and very hot and humid days. I have the day off, already have one load of laundry done, ready for another. It looks like it's going to storm soon, so I'll wait a bit before taking Loki out for his morning walk. He is not a fan of the rain. Hope everyone will enjoy a great last day of Spring.

Ok so who stole the weekend cause it can't possibly be Monday already. The weekend went by way to fast however I did score some new Christmas/Winter Decorations and a couple gifts over the very fast moving weekend. I had been looking for a Red Rider Sled (the one with the red metal rails) for a while now and found one at thrift store. I am going to clean it up, add some greenery, a bow and maybe a pair of old skates and maybe some lights to adorn the front porch this Christmas and Winter. I also made and canned cherry pie filling for the holidays. Hoping to make and can blueberry pie filling soon, got to wait until Aug to do the apples.

Its been hot and humid and I am already so over it and summer hasn't even officially started yet. A cold front is moving in later today so we are expected to get some severe thunderstorms today. I am just hoping hey hold off until after we get home from work.

Well I hope everyone had a great weekend and has a great Monday!

That sled sounds great! I just bought a vintage ceramic Christmas tree off of ebay. The ones that you plug in..I have wanted one for a while but could not find one at my price point but I was lucky to win it. Have a good day Martine.

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

Its been a long, wet weekend! I enjoyed Father's Day. I got some very awesome new shirts, we went to our early church, then we went to church with & had lunch with Nancy's dad. I was out yesterday on a trip to Savannah with Nancy, then we had to rush back for the start of our church's Vacation Bible School. It'll be going on the rest of the week, too.

I'm glad to see that Holiday has returned from her vacation!
