Good Saturday morning and Happy 150th Canada Day to my fellow canadians! It's just me and Loki this weekend, as David is attending a 30th wedding anniversary of one of his friends' parents about 5 hours away. I couldn't attend because I'm working tomorrow. Hope everyone will have a great weekend.

But if you find a good-quality video of the full-length version, you'll see how true to Dickens it is. And it has the best Bob Crachit in all filmdom. I own two copies of the 1935 version. I watch it at least once every Christmas season. I do like that version, it is just not my favorite. I also have the more popular, but not nearly as good, 1938 version with Reginald Owen as Scrooge. That was the first version I saw as a kid, so I watch it for that reason.

I am a bit of a Christmas Carol fanatic really. lol There is no one version that I think does everything perfectly. I wish I could pick and choose different parts from the different movies and put them together. For instance, I think Sim and Scott were the best versions of Scrooge himself. The best Ghost of Christmas past was Joel Grey in the Patrick Stewart Version. The best Ghost of Christmas Present was in the Scott version. I could go on and on picking my favorite and least favorite aspects of each of them.

I am not generally a fan of the modern retellings of the story. That is with one exception, I love Scrooged!
