I happened across a bunch of blogs this morning and there appears to be a whole sub-culture of people that have Hotdogs for Christmas. They dress em in Christmas colors, serve them in holiday styles etc. I was amazed at all the different ways they have found to keep their niche going for so long.

Good Morning, Comrades in Arms.
Comrades on a Crazy Christmas Crusade.

And as we soldier along, we search for Milestones to guide and show us the way.

Today's information:
Days to the Season: 127
Days to Christmas Day: 169

Searching the charts for our next marker, we discover that it is the 2/3 Milestone to the Season and that its distance is only FIVE days.
(Pretty close, wouldn't you say?)

Rather warm and humid again yesterday, but not as bad as Friday was, and a light evening rain cooled it off further.
This morning has started off clear and calm, with a temperature reading of 74 degrees here in the capital city.

Enjoy the rest of your Weekend, Folks.
And have a Super Sunday, too!
Thanks Crown! Have a great Summer Sunday!

Morning MMC! It's a beautiful Summer Sunday! The sun is out, humidity is low and temps will be in the low 80s today. Looks like mostly 80s in the week ahead. Haven't really had extreme heat in a while (probably just jinxed it). My brother returns this evening from Canada so we're going to my Uncle's for the evening and then he will leave for San Diego on Monday. Can't wait to hear his famous words "See you for Christmas." Have a great day!

Good morning, Christmas friends. Been a good weekend here. Nice, pretty...and I've been stuck indoors doing college work. Yuck! But not today...

Also had an optometrist visit yesterday...and got a welcome to the 40 club. Ol' Ballcoach needs glasses. Double yuck...

About to head out after reading the boards and mow the yard and clean out my truck. I'm about to become a road warrior. Over the next 23 days, I will only be at home 9 of them. Conferences, meetings, and vacation are coming.

The best news....Doc and I celebrate 10 years of marriage on Friday. I will get home around 6:00 that night. Just in time to take her on a date!

Good morning...happy Sunday! I slept in today and now I am enjoying some coffee. Not too many plans...we are going through to drop my oldest off at camp for the week and we will pick her up Fri night. Hope you all have a great day!

IMG_1248.jpg Hello Everyone,

127 Days until the Christmas Season? We start on November 1st, so it's even closer than that for our household. Yesterday, we started our Christmas In July grocery shopping, so it reminded me I needed to stop by mymerrychristmas. It's been a few months since I poked my nose in. Life has been enjoyably busy with my daughter, who's 17 months old and the golf season. I've played 50 rounds to date, between golf and my family life, this year seems to be flying by.

I've added a picture of my daughter Mary. She's a little angel. She keeps me busy and laughing. I'm looking forward to Christmas this year with her. She will understand what's going on a bit more this year.

The weekend we are celebrating Christmas In July, my wife and I will be celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary as well. It will be a busy joyous weekend, that's for sure.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Good afternoon ... After being off for a week I think I am ready to go back to work to rest LOL. Been a very busy week .. painted 3 rooms and got our new vinyl fence installed, just need to do the gates but I think that will be next weekend. Getting ready to head out a pick up another Christmas Gift for our son.

Walmart has started their back to school section which means it will not be too much longer before the fall and halloween goodies are in the store. Don't forget Christmas Movies on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries Channel. Hope everyone has a great day.

So I have had enough of summer already, although I have to suffer through until next Friday when the CIJ annual bash kicks off here. I decided today I would make a triple batch of Holidays super "Orange Zest" cookies!!

Did you by chance just happen to see the episode of Roseanne yesterday when Dan wanted anchovies on the pizza but D.J. wanted pineapple.

Not really, I just have this aversion to seafood or fruit on a pizza. In fact, in my most humble opinion, there are times when nothing is quite like an extra cheese pizza with no additional toppings. Not always mind you, but now and then... ;)
I hope you had a nice weekend. Mine was kind of full, but that usually happens with working my last mid-shift on Saturday and then trying to cram in a little work at home, some sleep and of course church. Makes for a weird Sunday and then, like now, I wind up awake at 2AM on Monday.
Enjoy Monday and another Christmas In July week...

We've decided on the theme for our main Christmas tree for this year! Since we're going to Disney World next summer, we've decided to do a Disney tree. We have Disney ornaments from our past visits & DD has Disney ornaments from Hallmark that she has been gifted over the years. We'll fill in any blank spaces with traditional gold balls. My sister had a Disney tree before she got married. She married a Disney hater, so my parent's have all that in their basement. My sister doesn't want it & Mom said I could have it, so it should be a good tree this year!

School starts back here on August 8. I'm trying to keep a positive attitude until then & trying not to think about it too much. I took DD to WalMart last night & they had Back to School signs up. She said, "Already?" Yep, just four more weeks of vacation for her! I just have to look forward to Labor Day weekend for our annual camping trip to Pigeon Forge. We always have a good time, just our little family of three!
Morning Whitney. Back in the day when we use to put up between 8 - 12 trees every Christmas season, we always had a Disney tree as well (sometimes 2). I have not yet been to Pigeon Forge, but last year I got a ton of Cabin Rentals flyers. It looks good and when I checked the prices, it was about the same as regular hotel fares. The wife and I may be going next year (this year's vacations are booked), but being older, we will probably go before school let's out or just after it starts back up again. Should be quieter then... ;)
Here is a photo of one of the "Princess Trees"...

Good Monday Morning Minta. I can relate to your "days off". My last ones were so full, I actually looked forward to the end of each day so I could go to sleep... lol. Yes, Wally World is set for the Back to School season. We have already received a few Halloween boxes, but of course they will stay in the back until the school section comes down. By the way along with the Hallmark salute to CIJ, the Music Channel (if you get it) has their Christmas in July going on as well on the channel: Sounds of the Season. In fact it is on my TV right now. Have a great day and week...

Morning Gunny. Interesting. Where do I find the recipe? We are having some warm days here as well and anything over 85+ sends me into the A/C comfort. Obviously all my activities this time of year are at first light until the heat says... enough already.

Good Saturday morning! It's 4:45am, why am I up? I'm sure going to bed at 8:30pm last night has something to do with it. I'll try and rest a bit more.

I had an encouraging visit at the physiotherapist Thursday, she mentionned that my muscles were getting looser and that I was on the right track. But then last evening my tendon was killling me, go figure.

It looks like rain today, so we'll get some shopping done and catch up on the dvr I think. And laundry, cause there's always laundry to do. Hope you will all have a wonderful weekend!
Greetings Martine. Your Saturday sounds like my... today! :)
Glad you had some good news about your physical condition. People often ask me (being in my 60's), if I would like to be back in my 20's or 30's and my answer is always the same. To go back that far... no. To still have the physical capabilities of myself back then... oh yes. Going to spend this AM finishing cleaning up from the 4th party and meeting my trash pickup guy with several more bags than my can would hold... :D
I trust the rest of your weekend went well and have a very pleasant week...

Greetings Mike24. For me of course Christmas is all year long, but I really get into the swing of things right after the start of the NFL season (1st full week of September). That is when I lay out the plans for my yard decorations and try to decide just how many trees will go up inside. Been a busy Spring and Summer beginning for me as well, but mostly due to so many projects I have given myself around the house and in the yard. I played golf in High School (even lettered in it). But got out of the "swing" of things when I went into the military back in 74'.
Now it's miniature golf when the occasion arises... lol. Enjoy these years and believe me, if you think time is flying by now, wait until you hit the 50's and beyond. It becomes light speed...
Have a fun week and a very Merry Christmas in July...

A Merry Monday Morning to the My Merry Christmas members. It was a very quick weekend. I did get a chance to relax a bit, which apparently I needed. Of course the down side is that I woke up at 2AM. Oh well, I can always get in a nap when the temp goes above 85... ;)
I will get some yard work done in the early morning hours and finish cleaning up from the 4th party. Mostly just putting things away. My wife will depart for Boise tomorrow morning to help here parents celebrate their 60th Anniversary. They do not know she is coming, since we were both there in May. I can't make it, but I'll send one of those edible arrangements on the 13th. Not much else really going on. The Music Choice station "Sounds of the Season" has changed from their Independence Day music to Christmas in July (currently on). Not much else to report, so here's hoping everyone has a nice week and are enjoying their own particular versions of CIJ...

Happy Monday MMC! My brother leaves today which is a little sad although my body will be a little happy that I can finally get back to a normal routine. He'll tell us how he will return for Christmas time. Boy that just seems crazy to think about in July but the way time goes we all know it's not a crazy amount of time from now. Hopefully it will go nice and slow eventually. The sun is out and a typical week with highs in the 80s is expected this week. I'm off Friday so as the saying goes 4 days of work for a 3 day weekend is well worth it. Have a great start to your summer week!

Morning Edge. Glad you had a nice time with your brother and yes, as much as we love them, it can get very hectic when they are around (or we are) for a short time period. Many times when I get back from a family vacation, I need a day to get back in the swing of things. Enjoy your short week... again

Its down in the recipe section CG. I ended up with 50 cookies in the batch I made. The single batch only makes enough for ..lol..2 or 3 hrs in my house.

Good Morning, People of the Holidays.
A new week has arrived, right on schedule. A week which will see us enter the LAST third of our journey to Christmas Season 2017!

The numbers:
Days to the Season: 126
Days to Christmas Day: 168

The Milestone:
The TWO-THIRDS marker to the Season.
The distance:
FOUR days ahead.
The goal:
Revel in getting another big step closer to our holiday of choice!

The temp and humidity were down a bit yesterday and no rain fell.
Pretty good really, for early July in these parts.
Should be at least reasonably comfortable again today, with a fairly low chance of precipitation.
Right now, we are at 75 degrees here in our part of MMC.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Everyone!
