But, first:
Days to the Season: 112
Days to Christmas Day: 154

And with only 12 days remainig to the 100-DAY SEASON WINDOW, we are indeed getting perilously close to single digits to that auspicious marker.
Then?
Well, then we launch a DOUBLE-DIGIT Season count and things will start to move even quicker.
(Hey. I had better start thinking about that Blossoms thread. Hmmmm......)


Hot Hot Hot.
No relief at all yesterday until an evening rain.
My car thermometer read 101 on the way home from the mall yesterday afternoon.
That's 101 air temperature. Heaven only knows what the heat index was.
Today? Well, perhaps a mild relief. (Hey. We will take anything we can get!)
Currently, we start off this new week at 73 somewhat overcast degrees here in central NC.

Good morning MMC! "Happy" Monday!!! Happy Rudolph Day Eve!!! 5 months until Christmas Eve! Craziness!


Mom had a bit of a rough weekend. She was just really weak & she fell yesterday in the bathroom. Haven't heard anything today but I'm praying she's stronger today! xx The nurse was there last night & checked her out. Everything was stable. I think she's more worked up about Emma leaving us at the end of this week than she is letting on. We sure are going to miss her!

The time has come....

For the first time in 10 years, Ballcoach and Doc are going on a vacation...just the two of us. We fly out tomorrow morning and we are going to Orlando (her idea) for a few days and then to St. Louis to see Guns N' Roses (my idea)! We are so excited. After us both continuing in college, kids,new jobs, and moving up the ladder....we kinda forgot about us. This is such a welcome get away. We are staying at Animal Kingdom with a safari view! Giraffes will literally be right outside of our window! Can't wait!

I have one of those little Christmas Countdown ornaments. Broke it out today and put some new batteries in it. I'm going to program in two more week as we are approaching 100 days until the season. Amazing how time flies.

A Merry Monday to you Holiday. The weekend was short, but at my daughter's request we ordered take-out from her favorite Mexican restaurant in town and then settled in for a couple hours of TV. Sorry to hear ablout your Mother and I will send prayers her way. Enjoy this final full week of Christmas in July and I hope your weather is cooling off a bit as well...

Good morning ~
Happy Monday!
We're going to have cloudy skies today with rain, highs near 73 degrees. I'm glad it cooled off a bit. Typical day here, I have a couple of quick errands to run and I'll be working on some chores around the house. I also have an appointment later this afternoon to have my hair cut and colored. That's about it for me. Oh I have a recipe for a mozzarella stuffed meatloaf that I'm going to try for dinner. I hope everyone has a nice day and a great week ahead!

Morning MMC! Happy 5 months till Christmas Eve! It is raining here this morning and I have the day off of work. We're going to go to IHOP later this morning. The high today is predicted to be in the low 70s. I can't remember the last time it was that cool out. Almost feels like a hint of the Bers to come. Anyway, I hope you all have a great Monday and think about the fact that now we have gone through 7 months since Christmas Eve and only have 5 to go.

Definitely feels like fall out there!! Enjoy your day off!

I missed it that Emma is leaving did you find anyone new to stay with your Mom.

Good Monday Morning Merry. All my weekends go by quickly, but of course I do work on Saturday evening. I usually wind up planning a task or two, so that something gets completed (hopefully). Sorry to hear about your health related problems and since you have had some for the first half, I'm praying that the second half finds you more and more on your "energetic" mode.

Greetings to the whole MMC world. Not too much going on today, but since it will be cooler than it has been, I plan on some yard work. I got a bit nostalgic this AM and decided to watch John Denver and the Muppets: A Christmas Together from 1979. To the best of my knowledge, it was never shown again and has never been released on VHS or DVD. Back then, being in the military, I use to set the VHS recorder to catch a few of the shows I was going to miss while in the missile field to watch later. If I really enjoyed it (like this one), I used a separate recorder to redo it and edit out the commercials. Then when I got a VHS to DVD recorder, I made a copy to play on the DVD and watched it once again.
It really brought back some memories. Anybody else out there even remember the special? Have a fun week everyone...

Morning Minta. How was the crock pot feast? Weekend went quickly for me as well, but since I am off today, hopefully I can get some work done outside before the sun gets on the 90 side.
Our Halloween candy is not out yet, but I have seen some in the back room. I'm sure the plans are to bring some of it out shortly. Of course the good thing about it coming out sooner is that your have the time to sample and make sure it is acceptable for those wonderful trick or treaters...

Yes, I saw it! I didn't have a VCR that early, but I bought the album on cassette. (Oops, that darrn near reveals my age ...)

I think I might have you by a few there young lady...
I also have the CD, but of course there are a few different songs on the special than are on the CD and even a few of those are played differently (like Fozzie bear forgetting his line in the 12 Days of Christmas). If you are ever interested in a copy let me know. No, I do not have "state of the art" equipment, but it is a very viewable copy.

Good morning .. off from work today but I am running the kids to dental cleanings and eye exams today. Want to get all this done before the back to school crazies start back up. Going to try to stop by the bank to deposit more money into the Christmas Club if not then I will do it one day this week. Debating if I want to relax for bit or if I want to do some more purging today LOL .. It never ends. Have a great day!

I have been able to stay in except for a few minutes. The temperature was not too bad yet.

Henry went out to the backyard and came in to tell us that there was a dead animal in the garden. It was a baby rabbit. Overall we have had a dead mouse and two dead baby rabbits in the yard the last couple of days. There seems to be a cat or something running around at night. We have a privacy fence but that does little to keep cats and rabbits out of the yard.

Oh yikes!! Poor bunny! But go get them mice, kitty!

Thank you so much, the appointment went well. I'm finally getting some answers and we're starting a wellness program asap. Hopefully I'll start feeling better very soon.

Man it is so hot and muggy today. During the 13th birthday Woot off that last week picked up a Bag of Crap. HArper was so excited to see that it came with 100 water balloons. you hook it up to hose and once they water feels them up the slide off and self tie. so me and her did a water balloon fight. Even though it was a little one sided being dad i got hit with the most balloons. Sure helped to beat the heat for a little while.

Hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend. Looking like at work were going to be working 7 days a week for the next couple weeks if not months. SO going to be tiring weekend this way.

Oh my - working 7 days a week would get old, really fast. Hope it doesn't last long! xx

Good Sunday morning, Christmas friends!

I've been away from here for a few days. Nancy had a surgery Wednesday morning (no worries, hopefully she's good now), and I've been at her beck and call since then. I'm getting pretty good at laundry, and I made a mean chicken pot pie last night, if I do say so myself. I even got the lawn mowed while she slept on Friday. If it weren't for that pesky job, I could get all kinds of things done!

It's been Campmeeting week at the local Methodist campground, and Elizabeth has been there all week with Nancy's mom. We obviously haven't been able to attend this week, but Elizabeth brings me a plate from each day's lunch. She's a better cook than most people I know, no joke.

Anyway, I better get back to my house duties. I hope y'all have a great day!

Greetings my merry chums!

I've been on vacation all week; back to work tomorrow.

I've been celebrating Christmas in July in my own way some of it with the merry assistance of guest bloggers on the MMC front page. Interesting articles and a few podcasts. I'd like to hear more, but my husband is a news and sports junky so I have to wait until he's having a rest or out running errands before I can listen to anything Christmas related.

I sent two surprise parcels out and hand delivered another to celebrate Christmas in July and bring a smile to someone's face.

The weather during my vacation was quite good; I've been cruising around in my new car and yesterday went to visit relatives at their property on the river just over an hour away from here. My next vacation isn't until Aug. 8th. Hoping to get away for at least two nights to visit my brother in Toronto to do a little sailing and jazz clubbing.
