Thanks, she is!!

Her current neurologist is sending her down to the children's hospital in Cincinnati to another specialist. The ER doctor this morning though thinks my sister needs a second opinion and called her family doctor and is getting her referred on to a neurologist here at our children's hospital.
 
If my Dad were still alive, today would be my parents 66th wedding anniversary! Sure miss that guy!!

Escarole is a type of leafy green vegetable. It tastes very good cooked in soup, good for you too!

Good morning MMC! Happy, Happy Friday! TGIF! And a dreary Friday it is. No rain, but only a high of 70º, it's rumbling & cloudy!

Gracie's appointment was very interesting yesterday!! Quite amazing!! He asked a bunch of questions & told me from her symptoms, this is not a kidney issue, it's a spleen issue. He said we have been treating the symptoms & not the primary problem. 1st he did chiropractic on her. He gave her "happy juice" so she would relax - she fought going down until she couldn't fight anymore. That was tough to watch! Her neck, shoulder & back were out. You should have heard her neck crack! :eek: He then did acupuncture on her. Her legs & her tail were jerking. He said this is from the blood that is flowing through her - she hasn't had blood flow through her like this for a long time. He said the longer the needles are in, the less she will twitch - which is exactly what happened. She breathed out at least a 1/2 dozen big sighs of relief during the procedure. It was amazing! He then muscle tested her. That showed she needs all the medicine & food she is on except for the steroid, which I was not crazy about her being on anyway. He gave me a new Chinese herb to put her on, changed the fish oil she takes & gave me new canned food to mix with her dry food. First thing she did when we got home last night was eat!! As in dog food! :D She ate again this morning. She hasn't eaten in the morning for a long time!! It has made me so hopeful!! xx It was a great experience!

Other than that, it's just work for me this morning. I'll be bringing Dena home to Amishville this afternoon, then I'll head to the lake. We have a neighbor boys wedding tomorrow, then back to the lake on Sunday to listen to our friend sing/play!

This is very encouraging to hear. I started seeing a naturopathic doctor recently and he told me the same thing about our general physicians just treating the symptoms and not getting to the root of the problem. I'm so happy the appointment well! I will continue to keep the both of you in my thoughts and prayers <3
 
Good Friday afternoon, friend. What turned into a day off ended up a day of working. Someone was supposed to be at our school at 9:00 to install a new phone system. All I was supposed to do was meet them there and let them in...

9:00 turned to 10 turned to 11 turned to 1 turned to 3...

But I'm not going to let that put a damper on things....

Monday is our first day of teachers being back and my first day in my new role (kinda)...so I'm pretty excited. Add that to celebrating days 100 and 99 to the season and this is going to be a great weekend....EXCEPT...

Tomorrow we go shopping for Bambina's first day of Pre-K. Can y'all believe it? Last night, I went back and read when she was born and how it was posted here and we all celebrated. Doesn't seem like it should have been 3 years and 11 months ago...

I think I've mentioned before that my girls do not think soup is real food. I picked up a pizza for them so I didn't have to hear the complaints!
And thank you, my chiro appointment went well but I'm not going to lie, that neck cracking thing completely freaks me out. Not sure if I'll ever get used to that. But if my headaches/migraines improve it will be worth it!

Good morning, good morning....

Big day for us Christmas lovers!!! I had to get up early. I wanted to check my college work and I wanted to drink some coffee and look at Christmas stuff before everyone gets up and starts moving around. Y'all have a great day!
 
Morning MMC! As Coach mentioned, a major day for us today. I look forward extra today to Crown's post about it. It's amazing to think where we are. I have asked myself many times the last week "How the heck is it AUGUST"? I enjoyed my 2/3 day off from work yesterday and got some things done that I normally do Saturday. Hopefully makes for a less hectic one. This afternoon should clear and we should have lowering humidity with some sun after some rain over night. Have a great start to your weekend!

Once again, it was rather warm here yesterday, but not TOO warm.
The humidity was present but manageable.
Today? Well, it should be a tad cooler. The humidity readings are not supposed to get uncomfortabel again until Monday.
Currenty, we are at 74 degrees here in the capital city.
