We are going to be at around 94%. As a former science teacher, I'm pretty excited! I would be out there with ya, but some professors from our local university are sending up weather balloons to around 50,000 and streaming from those balloons. We are also keeping kids in...

Some parents are upset, but I was worried about advertising to this crazy world that our kids will be outside at a certain time...just Friday, we had a man pull a knife out on someone a few houses down from the school. What is wrong with this world?

(They just need a little more Christmas in their lives!)
Yes, the world is going downhill and like most I am at a loss to really understand why. Out children are in for a rough time if this trend does not stop when they become adults.
But you are right, we can all use a little more Christmas in our lives...

Good evening, everyone!

A quick stop-in for me. It was non-stop pretty much all week. I was busy with some last minute training and getting some wedding stuff done... After all, we're only about a month and three days away from September 23rd!

In terms of training, I played in my first (Ultimate Frisbee) national championship in three years. It was here in Ottawa and my friend that now lives in Calgary asked me to play for his team. We didn't finish exactly where we wanted, but I had a blast playing. It was a lot of fun and I'm happy that I decided to "unretire" from competitive Ultimate for a few days.

As much as it pains me to say, it looks as if I only really have two more weeks of summer. I thought August would be my quiet/rest/recharge month, but it hasn't been so. Hopefully these next two weeks will be a little more calm and allow me do more things for myself. We'll see how it goes!

Well, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We're inching closer to those "'BER" months!
Congrats on the return to the land of competition. Lats time I tried that was playing football with guys in their teens and twenties (I was 56). The next morning, all I could say to myself was... "What the heck were you thinking?"
Get some quiet time, we all need that...

Hey all, just stopping by to say I love and miss all of you. My work hours are stabilizing a bit and I'm starting to get a grip on some personal demons that have been making me isolate myself more than usual. I hope to be around more because as I just said, I miss all of your adorable faces and hearing about your lives!!
Good morning Frosty. I understand getting that grip. It can be overwhelming at times. We are all so glad to see you back here and we miss you as well. Have a peaceful and amazing week...

Thank you Merry! I'm good now, actually better than I've been in a long while. I've sorted through all of the small things and the bigger bads, prayed, thought and adjusted. I've evaluated my failures and sins and accepted it all. As Leonard Cohen says, "Forget your perfect offering, There's a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in".
That's a very thought-provoking quote ... I like that.

Good Monday morning! I'm working the afternoon/evening shift and that's a good thing since I need some rest after walking in the blistering heat yesterday in the Montréal Pride parade with my company. It's going to be another very hot and humid day today. I can't believe that in two weeks it will be September already. College students are back at school this week. It's going by so fast. Have a great day everyone!
Greetings Martine. We have had nice weather the past few days. Even today (which will be the warmest for the week) is only around 85. Working in retail, I'm glad to see school begin again. It never ceases to amaze me how kids have nothing better to do than hang around a Wal-Mart. To each their own I suppose. Have a fun MOnday and a nice week...

Is anyone watching the eclipse? I may put it on TV since we don't have the glasses.
If nothing is on my desk at the height of it (we're only getting about 63% coverage here), I'd like to go outside and take a look. I made a pinhole projector out of a paper plate and brought it with me today just in case.

I like Clue too especially around halloween time.

Well we have quite a variety especially with the kids and their ages. These are just a few:
Scrabble
Clue
Monopoly
Chess
Draughts
Exploding Kittens
Checkers
Game of Life
Hotel Tycoon
Labyrinth
Snakes and Ladders
Sharkmania
We also have a family Poker night. Not exactly a board game though :)

My mum brought us one of the best games ever this year. Catoploy!!! We can't play without the kittens getting involved! Here are a couple photos ...

Wow. A very nice selection indeed. We don't do a poker night, but we do have a card game we enjoy... Uno. So who has the most fun at Catopoly... the players or the kittens?

Morning MMC!! Going to turn into a hot few days here and luckily I have a case of my favorite drink on order. Calypso Southern Peach lemonade. The few stores that carry Calypso up here never stock this flavor so I have to have em special order it by the case. Which just means I can drink more of it..lol
Morning Gunny. Is that a traditional Marine drink? ;)

Merry Monday and back to the grind but it makes it even better that we are getting close to the Bers.
Jus work for me today and my kids are going to my in-laws for the night so my husband and I may go out to dinner.

I bought a new tart burner over the weekend and I have Apples and Cinnamon burning now...reminds me of fall!
Hope you all have a great day!
A very Happy Monday to you SnowflakeMom. Getting some yard work done here and it's about time. Been too wet the past week to get much accomplished. Have a fun day and a nice dinner with your spouse. I love the aroma of Warm Apple Pie in my warmer...

Good morning MMC! Merry Monday/eclipse day! I'm kind of looking forward to the eclipse, though I don't have glasses & I'll be inside but I love all the hype. It's kind of cool!

Not much going on here. Not sure what to report about Gracie. Lots of ups & downs. Saturday was a down in the dumps day, yesterday was a happy day! This morning she wouldn't take her meds & she was hiding under the bed. Gracie, Gracie! I'm hoping when my boss gets back I can run home quick & try again to get her to take it. She goes back to the vet tomorrow.

Mom had a shaky weekend. We was in her wheelchair much of the weekend the way it sounded. Hopefully this will be a better week for both mom & Gracie! xx

Everyone have a great day - enjoy the eclipse! :D

You heard it here first, eclipse party at Made's in 2024!! We are only going to be at 91% today but will be in the path of totality then.

Now if Mother Nature will just make these clouds go away...

Prayers for both mom and Gracie.

If you live under a predicted cloud cover area today and want to see the eclipse, click on this link. The party is on in Sweetwater Tennessee.

My hometown!

We live 20 minutes southeast. Getting to work wasn't a problem, except that DH took my keys to work with him so I couldn't leave home until he came back with the keys! Still got to work 30 minutes early. Let's see if DD & I can get home at noon!

DD has a book called "100 Movies to Watch Before You Grow Up". Quite a few Christmas movies in it & we're partially through Miracle on 34th Street. I never let her watch it before because I didn't want her to be confused about Santa. Now that she know the truth, she can handle it. Maybe we can finish that up after the Eclipse watch this afternoon. I hope everyone has a great day!

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

It's just a little overcast, but I'm hoping it clears up so we can really experience the eclipse this afternoon.

I spent my weekend battling the swimming pool. I've spent more than $200 in the last few weeks buying the chemicals that the pool supply store said I needed to clear the cloudy appearance in my water, to no avail. I finally talked to the store owner who said I needed to change the sand in the pump. That was a job, but the water was looking better yesterday. He really shouldn't just rely on those part-time high school kids to sell chemicals based on a computer analysis. Sometimes your customers need your experience!

It's still hot and humid, but hunting season starts in just a few weeks! Woo hoo!!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
Morning Brad. So what is the main staple in the realm of hunting where you live? Hopefully your heat will die down soon. We are already down to the mid to upper 70's here. Enjoy your remaining pool time and a great week ahead...

Howdy Whitney. That is a really good movie. In fact I'm not sure I could make it through the Christmas season without having it on at least once. Enjoy the day and the eclipse. It should hit here beginning around 11:37AM and be totally over by 2PM. Maybe I'll see it happening while I am outside working. Enjoy...

Good Saturday morning! A rough night as hubby had to be into work at 10:30pm, as a plumber was on site to fix a problem with a water heater. But another problem arose and he wound up staying there until 3am, while a second repairman showed up. Then at 5am he got a call from the overnight security personnel because a valve burst, so he went back. I can't say that I've slept much more than him to be honest. Will try and sleep some more this morning, but I have a busy day/evening ahead of me. Have a great day everyone!
I hope you were both able to get some sleep over weekend & the plumbing issues were all taken care of!!

Good Monday morning Holiday. Sorry to hear that your past few days have been filled with things being not so well for your Mom and Gracie. I will add both to my morning prayers. Hopefully when you get back home she will be more responsive. Have a nice day and enjoy the eclipse...
