Christmas Countdown - 2017

A very Merry Monday to all the MMC Community. Nice cool morning at 68 currently and clear skies. That should make to eclipse viewing easier. Of course my first indication may be seeing it getting a bit darker while doing yard work...
Not much else on the card for today. I'll catch a movie with my much better half and do some BBQ for the evening dinner (along with corn on the cob and a potato casserole). I do have to make one quick trip to Menards for a few more patio pavers. But that is all I know of. have a nice day everyone and a fantastic last full week of August...

Hope everyone is having a lovely saturday! We have spent the morning getting some jobs around the house sorted. It's time to make dinner now. Looking forward to watching some movies and playing some board games later. Work for me tomorrow so as usual my weekend is pretty short.

Also I'm a bit late to report but Selfridges have launched their Christmas shop It's become a little milestone every year when they do. We should start seeing some christmas things in the shops in a couple weeks after kids return to school. Some places have put out last year's left over christmas clearance. I can't believe it's all about to happen, Very exciting!

I know I am probably stating the obvious here but it is so nice to see people get excited about Christmas stuff and even Halloween stuff showing up in stores! Everyone I know complains that the stuff is out too early, but I get so excited when I start to see the first signs of the holidays. I walked around Hobby Lobby the other day in the Christmas aisles and wanted everything I saw! I really appreciate all of you and this forum that feel the same way I do because no one else in my life does!!!

It's all so exciting!!!

Not much going on here. Not sure what to report about Gracie. Lots of ups & downs. Saturday was a down in the dumps day, yesterday was a happy day! This morning she wouldn't take her meds & she was hiding under the bed. Gracie, Gracie! I'm hoping when my boss gets back I can run home quick & try again to get her to take it. She goes back to the vet tomorrow.

Mom had a shaky weekend. We was in her wheelchair much of the weekend the way it sounded. Hopefully this will be a better week for both mom & Gracie! xx

Glad to hear things are going well. We are getting closer to our favourite time of year and its so exciting!

Thanks, Festive! We really are getting closer to the wedding and our favourite time of the year. Now that I think about it, it's perfect that the anniversary date of Kim and I will be so close in coinciding with the launching of the Christmas Blossoms thread! The question to that will always be, which one am I more excited about!?!?

Most of the people I played against were 8-10 years younger than me. That's a good way to put it. I had fun, but had to put in a lot of effort!

Quiet time is most welcome. I had plans today, but Kim told me I can't go out between noon and 4pm due to the eclipse. Looks like it will e a quiet day!!

Days to Christmas Day: 126

And reference to the Milestone Marker Chart confirms that in just FOUR days, we will be 2/3 of the way back to our Holiday of choice.
Barely over HALF a week away.
(So close to yet another ** MILESTONE DAY **!)


Still the weather rut. The hot and humid weather rut!
Perhaps some relief later on in the week.
For now, we commence this Milestone Week at 76 degrees here in central North Carolina.

Hard to believe we're in the final full week of August. As much as I love the BERs and the Christmas Season, summer is always a highly anticipated and most welcome time of the year.

Enjoy that BBQ dinner! Corn on the cob is perfect this time of year and I don't think there isn't a day where a potato casserole sounds delicious!

We are going to be at around 94%. As a former science teacher, I'm pretty excited! I would be out there with ya, but some professors from our local university are sending up weather balloons to around 50,000 and streaming from those balloons. We are also keeping kids in...

Some parents are upset, but I was worried about advertising to this crazy world that our kids will be outside at a certain time...just Friday, we had a man pull a knife out on someone a few houses down from the school. What is wrong with this world?

(They just need a little more Christmas in their lives!)

Good evening, everyone!

A quick stop-in for me. It was non-stop pretty much all week. I was busy with some last minute training and getting some wedding stuff done... After all, we're only about a month and three days away from September 23rd!

In terms of training, I played in my first (Ultimate Frisbee) national championship in three years. It was here in Ottawa and my friend that now lives in Calgary asked me to play for his team. We didn't finish exactly where we wanted, but I had a blast playing. It was a lot of fun and I'm happy that I decided to "unretire" from competitive Ultimate for a few days.

As much as it pains me to say, it looks as if I only really have two more weeks of summer. I thought August would be my quiet/rest/recharge month, but it hasn't been so. Hopefully these next two weeks will be a little more calm and allow me do more things for myself. We'll see how it goes!

Well, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We're inching closer to those "'BER" months!

Hey all, just stopping by to say I love and miss all of you. My work hours are stabilizing a bit and I'm starting to get a grip on some personal demons that have been making me isolate myself more than usual. I hope to be around more because as I just said, I miss all of your adorable faces and hearing about your lives!!
