Got an offer for a "Nightmare Before Christmas" perpetual calendar. A different character sits in the calendar's mast head with the name of the month on its base. Each of the twelve figurines is $60 + $10 processing. While it is a well executed piece, $840 for a calendar is not happening.
OUCH!

Well I just talked to the doc. Gracie gets to spend one more night on "vacation"! She is doing much better & she's perkier but her phosphorus levels are still too high. Her other numbers are coming down to the normal range. He wants to finish out this iv & then keep an eye on her! I'm glad he is taking precaution. I'm off to see my girl in a few!!

Everyone have a wonderful evening!!

Hello everyone. Sorry I've been away for while. Time keeps flying by. Our son is starting his senior year of college. He will graduate in May and is engaged to be married in June. Hard to believe this was his last summer at home. This coming Thanksgiving and Christmas will be the last ones with him living at home. My career is winding down and I plan to retire in June. The wife is 5 year younger than me so she still has a few years to go. Lots of changes.

Have a blessed day everyone.

Your mentioning the children's characters and Christmas scenes on the tin reminds me of an American Christmas treat---in a lot of places (supermarkets, drugstores, even office supply stores) you can find large tins of popcorn containing plain popcorn, caramel popcorn, and cheese popcorn (in separate sections of the tin). The tins are usually printed with Christmas scenes and characters. I guess that's the closest thing we have to your tins of chocolate here!

Merry - Id have to check the regulations for sending food stuffs - but I would happily send you an advent calendar if its allowed so you can experience them! Trying to think of some foods that are quite essentially British......

Very sweet of you (no pun intended!), but please don't go to the trouble and expense! Mr. has an Amazon.uk account (to get some DVDs we can't get here), so I can get him to order me one. I should have thought of that before!

Good Thursday morning friends. Been a few interesting days here, weather wise. Nice during the day and then a stray rainfall here and there. It's kind of nice, but the limbs that I cut off the tree and am waiting to burn in the fire ring, will require at least a day or two for drying out. Of course on the better side, I have not had to water the grass for over ten days.
I am putting in at the store to go back on day shifts. I have several Department Managers that are asking their managers if they can get me at their department, which is nice and humbling. Not sure if it is an age thing, but recently, I seem to be having trouble getting a good "night's" sleep. A few of those and I wind up sleeping a good portion of my days off. Of course I leave those decisions in the hands of God to do what He seems best for my life. And I should mention, as of today, 2 years - 7 months & 4 days to go.
Have a nice day everyone and a great weekend ahead...

Wishing you success in changing to day shifts. I am always in awe of good people who work so hard at night.
