We have a monthly staff meeting for the five of us in our office. We have a yearly staff retreat for the three combined offices & a Christmas luncheon.

In our September monthly meeting we discussed handing out candy at the downtown Halloween event here. I can help this year because DD is too old to trick-or-treat this year. We also discussed our Christmas party for the entire staff & the one just for us five. Our leader looked at the rest of us and said, "Remember, no Christmas decorations go up in this office before Thanksgiving!" We just smiled at her and nodded! We've never put up decorations, but we do listen to Christmas music. I told them I listen to instrumental Christmas music almost every afternoon and they never know it because I have it turned down so low! It's instrumental from January through November. Then I listen to traditional Christmas tunes through December.
That is a great plan to listen to instrumental all year & then switch to traditional. Love it! How exciting to be making plans!!

They should dry in 3 days if the weather holds out. Lol..I ruined a pasta hand crank machine trying to get the sheets of clay the same thickness. Then I hit on a idea and used a antique meat grinder and made a plate for it to extrude the clay through in the shape of a square. Kinda like a sausage without the casing..lol
LOL - inventive!!!

Hi all! Tis the season...Band rehearsal starts up for the Pops band! We'll be getting ready to play for Veteran's Day and also for Christmas. We've had the summer off. Just one more sign that fall is (basically) here. Just finished a good 3 mile run and it's time for dinner (BRINNER!!-breakfast for dinner!) and a good book before band rehearsal.

Have a lovely evening everyone!!

I agree @whitney37354 and @Holiday ! Helps to not get so used to the tunes. They're always amazing, but there's something special about the first time you hear a song when it's actually fall and actually in the Season. Great idea!!

Good morning HMG! How was the Pioneer Woman Chicken Enchilada soup? Your supper tonight sounds great too! Have a wonderful day!!

Thank you Holiday ~
My girls are not big soup eaters but this one was a hit. I'll definitely be making it again :)

Sounds a bit on the busy side like always for you HMG. Overcast here as well and it should it in the mid 70's also. Enjoy your last couple of days of Summer...

Have a great day, HMG!! I am making a roast chicken tomorrow night!

Thank you both!

As I sit here this afternoon, i think a lot about jogging pants, chili, football, and chilly fall days. Almost there....
I am ready for the chilly or at least cooler Fall days. We have been on quite a roll of hotter Summer weather and it is slated to continue through at least next Tuesday which is a little surprising seeing how it has been this way the last couple of weeks here. As of now we are looking at low to mid 80s this weekend through Monday and yesterday was a real scorcher. Don't usually see it stay quite that hot this long in the northeast although you never really know with September. I say bring on the Fall!

Love brinner!

After 2 days of helping my sister move and a week of having my nieces, I don't know if I even want to get out of bed tomorrow. Lol!!!

Hope everyone is well!!! Hopefully I can get caught up soon!!

Morning and Happy Pines Day! We expect a high of 78 under cloudy skies and the chance of a shower. Not much nice weather yet this week. The sun should come out later this week though into the weekend and feel like summer weather. Glad I didn't take my a.c. down. Maria is another scary storm. Too many of them this year and definitely too many hitting land areas. Hope things calm down soon. And hope you all have a great Pines Day!

Good Morning MMC !!

going to be another hot and muggy day here, feels more lie summer than almost fall ! The nice thing is that at night it cools off and is very comfortable.

This is baking day for the rest of my fall fair entries. It all has to be on site by 8pm tonight. I will take pictures for you later.

Hope you all have a fantastically magically wonderful day !

-smile-

Good Morning, People of the Holidays.

And we are the keepers of the flame, aren't we?
At least we certainly keep it lit here year round!

Today's data installment:
Days to the Season: 54
Days to Christmas Day: 96

And, believe it or not, we are now down to just FIVE days until the THREE QUARTERS Milestone marker to Christmas Day.
(Yep. Like I said. Believe it or not!)

The weather? A bit more humid, but not bad.
The temperature? Reasonable for late summer.
The sun? Plenty of it.
The wind? Moderate breezes.
The hurricanes? Staying well off shore for now.
The summary? Pretty nice, all in all!
The current temperature? 66 degrees.

The wish? That you have a Wonderful Wednesday as you enjoy this evening's entertaiment and treats at the Shispering Pines.
Carl has a fall theme in full swing (even though it's two more days before autumn actually arrives) so drop by this evening and start getting into the spirit.
Hope to see you all there!

Thanks Crown! See you at the Pines for the last bash of the summer!

Thxs Crown!!! Days are just whipping by.

I hope everyone else's week is easier than mine!

It's been a heavy workweek---it's only Wednesday, and I'm pretty near worn out already. I got home yesterday about 9 p.m., read for a while, and was too wired to sleep. It took a warm shower, a mug of Tension Tamer tea, and a few gingersnaps to get me ready to sleep. In the words of our Binger, "not yabba!"

There was some "yabba" yesterday, though. I got a CD of slack-key guitar Christmas music that I ordered, and listened to most of it on the way to work this morning. Very nice! It'll be even nicer next to a Christmas tree with a mug of cocoa.

Good morning MMC! Merry Pines Day! Not much going on today ~ just working & doing a little online shopping at Kohls. Today we are supposed to start our heat wave - after not getting out of the 70's yesterday. We're supposed to hit 84º today & then we'll have almost 90º until Monday when it drops down to 85! Whew! By next week at this time we only have a high of 77 predicted. Crazy weather.

Everyone, have a great day!
