Good Tuesday afternoon, Christmas friends!

I've spent the morning taking customer on the tour, then out to lunch. From there, I had to go home to give Lulu a little-girl's break. Now I'm scrambling to do all the things I usually do in a day.

I'm still fretting over the limb hanging over the house. I think I'll call my brother for an opinion.

Good afternoon folks. With the days getting shorter, I've been walking our dog at night. We walk down the mountain and along the street below. Twice in past we've walked up on a copperhead. They are lying on the asphalt to warm up. The dog may have to get by with shorter walks until it cools enough for the snakes to be gone.

I see that everyone has been keeping up with the progress of the year as we march toward our favorite holiday.

Its that time of the year for Hallmark to release the remaining ornaments for this year's Keepsake series & Limited Edition series. I do believe that Santa will be at Amy's Hallmark in Sachse, TX on 10/07 & 10/08 to greet enthusiasts and spread a little love, hope, and joy.

Oh...and we have a baker's dozen of Saturdays left before Christmas. I suggest one and all to get their lists updated and get on that shopping.

No timer. I wish they were. For the price though, I can't complain.

I peeled the Christmas bows off of them today so they can be used all year.

Stuck some of the fake fall leaves around the inside to match the garland I have on the fireplace right now.

Ooh, I love them!!! My friend picked up a lantern for me yesterday at Kroger. I'm not sure if it's on a timer, or not! I'm a little lantern obsessed. Ha ha!

Yeah, he likes to say that he's a general contractor. Yet he drives a semi for fed ex.

When we were moving them in, he couldn't even figure out why it was so hot upstairs. I told him to look around the bedroom and see what's missing. He still couldn't figure it out. I finally just had to tell him, there's no vents up stairs. The old lady that lived there before, only installed the central air to the first floor.

So I'm not holding out high hopes.

Yikes!! So I'm assuming it's going to be cold in the winter too? Or is there a separate heating unit up there?

7pm it's dark...7:15 it's pitch black. I think that I can get another month out of it and then we'll have to start walking around the park area and by some houses instead. Just in time to watch the Christmas lights start up.

Yep, you're quite a bit earlier than us! I just remember my bro saying in the winter by 4pm it's getting dark. And I thought 5 was way too early!

Morning Festive! Mom is doing ok. Good days, bad days. She has a blank stare a lot more often. Her memory is definitely declining / confusion.
We have 2 Amish sisters staying with mom now. They take turns coming every other week. There is also another Amish girl who comes when the sisters are busy. They are all very nice & they are good with mom, but they're no Emma! She's one of a kind!

Morning MMC! Where is September going? Can't believe we only have 4 days left of this great month yet the greatest 3 months are still to come. We have another warm 85 degree day here expected under partly sunny skies with the chance of a shower later today. Our weather guy said it's possible this will be the warmest day we see until next spring. That's pretty crazy to think about but somewhat realistic as it's rare to get this warm during October and beyond. How's everyone's week going so far? I'm starting to slowly think about the weekend. Right Holiday? Have a great day!

We do have a cool down coming, starting tomorrow. Today is cooler at 81º but tomorrow is only 70. BUT next week we are supposed to get back up into the low to mid 80's.

Merry Wednesday and Happy Pines Day!

We are warm here with the return of summer like temps this week. It got to 20C yesterday ! We didn't even hit that in August! I am enjoying it while it lasts and making the most of the dry weather.

It is incredible to think October is only 3 days away after today! It's the month I look forward to most all year. It feels like it's the start of everything. The anticipation of all to come is such a great feeling knowing it is within reach and blossoming everywhere and on the minds of everyone else too. So exciting!

Good Morning MMC !!

lots of small things to get done around here. With fall rally next month, aprons to sew and vacuuming to do. Going out for lunch with a friend as well.
Our temps are supposed to be going down to actual fall temps starting today. It will only feel like 30c (86 f) !

Good Wednesday morning! I'm working the afternoon/evening shift for the next two days. I'll have to go in Saturday for half a day to train new hires, so I'll work only half a day on Friday. One last day of high humidity and temps should be back to normal tomorrow. My in-laws who have been on vacation through the Canadian Rockies going to Vancouver escaped the worst of this heat wave and will be back sometime tonight. Hope everyone will have a great day!

Happy Pines Day!
It's going to be cloudy today, chance of a shower with highs near 80 degrees. We got in pretty late last night, thankfully there isn't too much going on. I don't think I have to run any errands which is good. I have to do a few loads of laundry & clean the bathrooms. Dinner will be chicken piccata, roasted potatoes and sautéed spinach. We missed the This is Us premiere because we were at the concert last night so we'll catch up with that later this evening. I guess that's about it. Hope everyone is well. In just TEN days now, we will reach the NINETY PERCENT point and enter the long-awaited and ultra-exciting Home Stretch run up to the start of Christmas Season 2017!
Yes, single digits from tomorrow and all the fun and excitement begins as we advance on November 13.


Two more days to go until the start of promised fall-like weather this Friday, with temps in the low to mid 70's and low humidity.
(Sounds like heaven!)
For now, we begin this mid-week day at 72 degrees here in the capital city of North Carolina.


Well, now. Can this really be the last 'Pines Day of September?
The calendar says so, therefore I will not dispute it, but it just seems to have arrived too soon.
Regardless, Carl says everything is ready for this evening's open house and that the latest fired twinkies batch turned out extra good.
And funny thing. There are so many flowers at the 'Pines today for some reason. Blossoms everywhere. Mysterious.

Happy Hump Day!! Just work for me today and I am going to go to the grocery store later and need to catch up on laundry tonight. I was at Dollar General last night and saw a few Christmas items! Hope you all have a great day! How is it we are almost into October?

Saw a couple more Halloween-bedecked houses ... one with a couple of GIANT spiders clinging to the outside. The local stores are bursting with Halloween candy and decor. Once October 1 arrives, I expect even more Halloween to appear all over!

I'm not a huge Halloween fan, but seeing the decor and the candy is a reminder that the first holiday of the holiday season is only a month away!
