When I saw this post it made me think "she's in Connecticut" ~ Is Christmas In Connecticut one of your favorite movies? (I love that one!!) I hope you (and I) get a white Christmas this year!

LOL....I do like that movie and snow would be perfect!

I just got a message from the groomer:

"Your little monster did great!! I did a scissors groom on her. Still a brown little bear. Still drying."

Good morning and Happy Thursday!
It’s going to be mostly cloudy today, chance of a shower with highs near 61 degrees. I tidied up the house and started laundry so far. I’ll be cooking breakfast in a little bit, the family will be waking up soon. I don’t have too much going on. I just need to run to the pet store and Whole Foods to pick up a couple of things. Dinner is in the crock pot already, I’m making pulled pork. I think I’ll make a tray of baked macaroni & cheese as well. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a great day!!!

Good Morning, Everyone!

Getting mighty close now to the first of a string of four holidays we have eagerly been waiting for all year: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day.
Add in the start of the Season, and we have FIVE days to look forward to in barely over two months.
(We are in the most exciting time of the year, Folks!)

And today's numbers just add to the excitement!
Days to Halloween: 5 (Closing in on the HALF WEEK mark!)
Days to the Season: 18 (Barely over 2 1/2 weeks left!)
Days to Thanksgiving: 28 (Four weeks from TODAY!)
Days to Christmas Day: 60 (UNDER 2 months to go!)

(I'm almost giddy with excitement. How about you?)


OK. The weather has taken a chilly turn and I had to wear a jacket all day yesterday. But after all, it is fall and we have been spoiled by an unusually long lasting summer.
This morning has commenced at a coolish 46 degrees here and we will again remain in the low to mid 60's all day.


OK. Who would have guessed last night's door prize at the 'Pine would be a giant fired twinkie in the shape of a camel?
(Well, I suppose we should have guessed something like that actually, considering who we are dealing with.) But no doubt it was tasty!

Well, home again today. The doctor said it was most likely a virus so no antibiotic. Instead I am taking medicine for the symptoms. Yesterday evening was certainly the worst I have felt. I feel a little better this morning so hopefully things are moving in the right direction.
Today is not a bad day to miss at my school. There is a big field trip which means a lot of students are not there, so most of my classes are just doing study hall work or watching a video anyway.

In other news... I know it is almost Halloween, but I am much more in the mood to watch a Christmas movie. So, since I am home by myself, I think that is what I will do! It fits with the frost outside this morning.

Good morning MMC! Merry FROSTY Friday Eve!!! What a chilly morning!!! Love the look when I open the blinds & see frost on the rooftops for the 1st time of the season! Makes me happy to be warm inside!!! And then I walked into the office where it's 64º...heater is on now. Brrrrr!!

Lucy did really well at the groomer yesterday. I couldn't believe it. LOL! I have never seen her so tired as she was last night. Emmy must have worn her out. I had to drag Lucy out & Emmy wanted to come home with us. LOL!

Happy Thursday!!
All it has done is rain...started last night and it is still coming down but it looks like it may clear up and then Sunday we are supposed to get another rainstorm. Perfect day to stay home and make a big Sunday dinner.
Just the usual day for me, we are having steak and ceasar salad for dinner.

Good Thursday morning! I'm working the afternoon/evening shift today, so getting things done early. It's grey and they announce rain for today, so I made some tomato and vegetables soup for tonight. David can enjoy it with some grilled cheese sandwiches. Speaking of my husband, I got his first Christmas present, the computer game Cuphead. He showed it to me on Youtube and it looks really, really hard to play. I figured he was dropping a hint that he wanted that for Christmas. I haven't bought anything else yet. Hope everyone will enjoy a wonderful day!

Yes, the Wheatie fur is starting to shine through - especially her face where she had to cut it shorter.
The groomer pointed out that Lucy has blonde eyelashes. LOL! She said she loves blonde eyelashes!!

I've requested a couple Mondays off in November, so I'm looking forward to those already! We didn't get away for a vacation this year (except for a couple days in Vermont) because of health problems, so I have some vacation days to spread around November and December.

Good morning everyone! It was 28 degrees here this morning! I actually had to turn on the heat and we turned on the fireplace last night. We have 5 cats total, but 2 of them are our new kittens we adopted in August and they were quite intrigued with the warmth from the fire! Tonight is our trick or treat so I think we will order some Chinese food after we are done passing out candy. I am looking forward to starting on my Christmas trees on Wednesday...I always start on 11/01! I hope everyone has a great day!

It's fascinating just how giddy the Season can still make us after all these years. So many signs of Christmas Blossoming right before our very eyes, it's fantastic!

I've yet to see a Christmas commercial. I recall about a decade ago I would start to see commercials around October 23rd. More recently, however, I think stations have made a conscious effort to at least hold them off until November 1st.

As excited as I am for my TV to be filled with Christmas commercials, I'm still OK with it.
