Good morning, Christmas friends. Hope all is well! No one is in school, no teachers are present, so I came to work. I love the quiet and feel like I get so much done. I did some yard work at school this morning mulching up leaves, and I'm in my office right now, but I won't here much longer. Just a bit of paperwork and keep the inbox cleaned out and then I'm off. Tonight, we are going to have chili and hang out. My brother will be in tomorrow night and is insisting on taking my kids to Chuck E. Cheese, so I plan on resting up.

Yall have a great day! See you tonight!
Have a nice relaxing evening & a fun time at Chuck E Cheese!!!

Very sorry to hear about your mother not feeling like herself. What is TIA if I may ask? Glad that she is better this morning, but your concern is understandable.

As for those puppies, that mix of breeds sure yields adorable little fluff balls. Hard to resist, I agree. We'll see if Lucy gets a little sister soon...Enjoy your day Holiday.
TIA = Transient Ischemic Attack - basically a mini stroke. The nurse was coming again this afternoon to check her out, so hopefully all is well. xx
I haven't heard back from the breeder yet if the puppies are still available. Yes, they are adorable!
How was your Sunday off work?? Hope you enjoyed!!

Saturday evening, my brilliant bride & I saw Kansas in concert at the same venue The Brian Setzer Christmas Show(sold out) played recently. It is the 40th anniversary Leftoverture Tour. They played for two hours twenty minutes that included hits, cuts from their new studio album, and the entire "Leftoverture" album played in track order. The magnificent 96 year old theatre added to the experience.
Sounds like you had a great time!!! :)

Seasonal Sightings: Our block neighbor, with the classic large Christmas bulbs on his fence, left them in place on the walk rail, but removed them from the street segment to extend the lights all the way around with LED versions of same.
I love seeing the signs of the season!!

Finally seeing some lights in our neighborhood ... a few people got out over the weekend and put up some trunk wraps and other arboreal lights. Hoping to see some lights on the homeward commute---there haven't been ANY yet.
I noticed a lot more decorations up on my way home from shopping on Saturday. Love it!!

Good Afternoon MMC !

Had a great weekend visiting with family.
I am not feeling so good right now, cold coming on . But I am fighting it with everything I can throw at it.

Still working on cakes which have to be taken to competition stite on Friday.
Gingerbread house baked and now have to decorate it. That competition has to be dropped off next Wednesday.

So as you can see I have no time to be sick.

Hope you all have a great day !!
I hope you feel better quick. Sometimes those family gatherings spread the germs...but so worth it!
Have fun working on the gingerbread competition!

Plenty of Christmas Commercials on TV already, including the Coca Cola commercial.
More and more windows are decked out and windows are decorated with beautiful colorful lights.
I had a bit of trouble getting into the festive mode....i was looking forward to Christmas...but a job I was promised fell through....they kinda fooled me I guess....so that was a huge blow in October.......but now I´m really looking forward to all the jollyness!!!!!!!
Sorry to hear about the job that fell through, but I'm glad you are looking forward to the jolliness! :) Hope you find the "perfect" job!

Is anybody else addicted to Netflix? I love the tv series they have up there......especially Stranger Things and Riverdale........and The Killing.....also The Sinner was superb!!!! I am horrible....I start watching something and i binge watch it......all the time........It´s so hard for me to wait for the next episode of Riverdale.

Kandice loves Full House, which I showed her on Netflix....when she finished all seasons (she rewatched the whole show 5 times already) we started watching Fuller House.....and we were laughing our butts off
Can't go wrong with Full/Fuller House!!!

DD spent the weekend on her first overnight (two nights!) trip without a family member with her---success! She sent several texts about how much she loved & missed us, and I'm treasuring them, because I know that won't last through the teenage years.

I took Mom to a Christmas open house on Saturday. At my parent's house, I put together & fluffed both of the big pre-lit trees & fluffed two small trees. Mom has five trees & loves Christmas! She will decorate the trees over the next few days. When I got home, I wrapped all of DD's gifts while she was away. Only waiting on one more of her gifts to be shipped, then Santa has done his job for our house this year.

I found out today that there won't be a home tour in my hometown this year. I guess people are afraid of strangers roaming around in their home? I don't blame them, but it was fun while it lasted. Mom & I try to cram in all the Christmasy activities together that we can.

Busy holiday week, but so thankful to have my family to spend it with! We live 20 minutes from my parents & 45 minutes from DH's parents, so we don't have far to travel.

Thursday: breakfast with DH's family. Might visit with my parents in the afternoon. If I feel up to it, we'll put the main tree up.

Friday: Taking Mom & DD to Fantasy of Trees, then lunch at Jason's Deli. We've only missed a couple of years since DD was born and she loves the tradition. Once you start something with her, she wants to stick with it! If I feel up to it, more decorating at home.

Saturday: Decorating the rest of the house for Christmas then Old Fashioned Downtown Christmas in my hometown with Mom. This year DH will be playing keyboard for one of the singers, so DD will go with us.

Sunday: church, Thanksgiving lunch with my family, church again

Most years I'm in a hurry to get the decorations up so I can enjoy them. I feel like they should all be up by mid-day on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. If I get the early start on Thanksgiving night, then I won't feel rushed!

And our Thanksgiving meal plan is complete...

So here's the T-giving recap:

Karen - Snack, Desert
Julie - Salad
Gin - Dressing and Gravy
Lyn - Ham, Buns, Turkey, Beverages, Pies
Ang - Cornucopia and Potatos
Jan- Green Bean Casserole
Carol - Sweet Potato Dish
Jill - Veggie Tray
Christi - Snack
Kate - Snack
Dee - Pasta Salad
Steph - Corn Casserole

And that, my dear family, should be an awesome feast!!

Can't wait!

I love that you & your mom enjoy so many Christmas traditions together. Enjoy every moment!! My mom use to love Christmas too (maybe not as much as me...) -but now she doesn't find much joy in life anymore at all. So sad! :( She did ask me if I was going to decorate her house again this year...OF COURSE!!! :)

It's sad that it has come to the point of having to cancel Christmas home tours. But I agree - can't blame them. Such a fun tradition! Our town has never had one, but there are some towns in the area that still do it.

Funny when you mention tradition - my friend bought the trailer next to us at the lake this past summer. Me & my lake friend (girls) do a lot of Christmas things together. Anyway, my new neighbor friends husband told her on Saturday ~ the lake girls sure do enjoy tradition, don't they?? Ha ha ha! Yep, some things we do, especially at Christmas! :) He better get use to it! :D

Enjoy all your celebrations & decorating!!

Thank you so much Holiday. I finally heard back, everything is normal. What a relief!
That's the best news I've heard all day!!! YIPPEE! So happy for you!

Everyone, have a wonderful evening!! Should be a quiet one at our house - that is unless Lucy is a wild girl - LOL. Jim is working late. Let his holiday season begin. I guess I'll have to watch some Christmas on tv - oh darn! :D

@HomemakinGirl: thank God all is well! {{{HUGS}}}

Merry Monday!

Hope all is well with everyone! Made cranberry ketchup today ~ yummy stuff. Tomorrow I'm going to the Mennonite store for groceries and am going to check out a thift store a couple of towns over. Usually find a lot of interesting books there and what with winter looking rather cold and miserable out this way, I need to stock up on some reading material.

Be merry!

The exterior illumination is done! Now I just have to wait for permission from the boss to have them on every night!
