Lawrence Welk had some great Christmas shows!
This ‘56 show isn’t like the ones from the ‘70s with all the kids, but it’s a great show. I think it was the first year for the Lennon Sisters. And our 16mm includes the original commercials for the “swept-wing Dodge for 1957”! Including one aimed at women that’s SO sexist.

Dinner's over, and I'm sleepy (surprise!).
Think we might run some 16mm this evening. There's a kinescope of a Lawrence Welk Christmas show from 1956 that we like to open the season with. We also have a 1950s Liberace Thanksgiving show. If I'm still awake!
When I was a kid my cousin lived down the road from us. If I ever got cajoled into riding somewhere with them they had a whole selection of Welk on 8-track. My cousins mom owned a old mid 70's Chevy Impala that was faded red, it was quite mortifying to me...lol

Morning Missie. I'm anxious for the exchange this year as well. I did like the stocking one last year as well, but I don't know if it is happening this year or not.
Got up on my tall ladder yesterday to get the icicle lights going, since it was nearly 50 and is only suppose to be in the high 30's today. Have a fun day and a great week...

Thanks, CGYager! Happy Thanksgiving!!

Oh what a day! Dinner was just wonderful, we met my new wife's family at an old stone restaurant and had dinner. I mean, parents, uncles, cousins and the works. It was nice, a little hard to hear, but really nice. I got a big ole plate full of goodies and I ate only half and brought the rest back home. I wanted to make sure that I still had room for dessert; which was some yummy apple pie. I got back home and had to put on some comfy/stretchy pants and sigghhhh, as I hit the nice soft comfy chair! I wrapped one of my special crocheted blankets that I bought from MerryCarey around me, Shiloh came under the blanket also and snuggled up to me and I was off to dream land!

I'm just listening to the Sounds of the Season on a cable music channel, going to relax for the rest of the night, and let things digest and have a nice quiet and peaceful night.

Side note:
I have to laugh, I am getting bombarded by emails, on my phone, for the Black Friday shopping. If I do any shopping at all tomorrow, it will be right from the comforts of this chair, lol!!! I think tomorrow, I'm going to strap on my tool belt and get a few projects done around here for my honey...

Happy Black Friday Everyone! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. I sure did. It just reminds you how amazing that day is. Enjoyed the parade, football, food and family. We were a little behind this year with cooking. It still went well though and it wasn't a big rush. Woke up this morning now starting on Black Friday deals online. I will venture out to the stores in a bit. Have a great day!!!

** CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY 12 **

Good Morning, Post-Thaksgiving and Current Black Friday Friends.
Yes, it is once again the dreaded Black Friday.
(Personally, I don't bother to fight the crowds but I do like to go out to the mall to watch them and get a bite to eat!)

But enough of that, let's get on with our remaining count:
Days to Christmas Day: 31 (ONE MONTH from TOMORROW!)

Chilly yesterday and it is supposed to be chilly again today with warmer weather predicted for tomorrow. It should be clear both days.
Currently, we are at 32 degrees here in the capital city.

Have a Fully Fabulous Friday, Folks (whether it's black or not) keeping in mind it is also Thanksgiving Weekend Eve!

Good morning all. Another Thanksgiving in the books. It did not turn out exactly as I had thought it would this year, but memorable and enjoyable non-the-less.
Today is the big decorating day for me and since the weather is cooperating for the next few days, the outside portion should be a breeze. Inside the furniture has been rearranged, so it is ready to begin as well.
Just a couple of minor stops this morning at two stored (and the bank) and that is all for me away from home today.
Have a fun day and don't get trampled...

Good morning MMC ~
I hope everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving :)
Not too much going on here today. My husband has off from work the next three days so he’s going to pull out all of my Christmas decor. I’ll be chipping away at the decorating all weekend.
I hope everyone is well and has a Merry Friday!
xx

Good morning MMC..we had a great Thanksgiving and of course ate way too much!
I bought a couple of things online today and I am bringing my oldest daughter and her 2 friends to the mall. I will let them shop and I will go to Target and Home Depot to poke around the holiday section. I am going to decorate my mantle tonight and maybe the tree or that will definitely go up tonight or tomorrow. Hope you all have a great day!
