Hello All,
I hope everyone is well and blessed. I started posting again in September, and had intended to have more frequency in the Forum, but our family had something happen and oddly enough of all the places where I have had to say this, this Christmas forum is the most difficult for me.
On October 2nd my son was killed in a motorcycle accident. For those of you who remember me, you may recall that my son is my only child and the light of our life. He just recently turned 21, and was to be in our county's Sheriff Academy for the spring 2018 class. He was also engaged to be married.
Thanksgiving was difficult, but it's Christmas that for the first time in my life, I'm almost dreading. I don't want to be, particularly because my son loved Christmas just as much as I do and he would be so upset to know that his passing made me so sad that I didn't even want to celebrate Christmas as we always have. It would just make him feel worse. So I will do my level best to deck the halls, choose a tree that he would have selected himself, and bake all of his favorite cookies to distribute them among his friends and former co-workers.
This forum has always been a place of goodness and fun to me. I suppose it's why it took me the longest to post here.
