Happy Friday!
Thanks crown! Have a good weekend!** CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY 33 **
Good Morning, Everyone!
And the mornings will just keep getting gooder and gooder as we near the one week mark to Christmas Day 2017.
Our ever-dwindling count:
Days to Christmas Day: 10 (SINGLE DIGITS TOMORROW, Guys!!)
So close, I can almost hear the bells on Santa's sleigh.
A briefly warmer day was had here yesterday and we moved well into the 50's for the afternoon high.
Chillier weather will be the order of this final day of the work week, and it has begun at 35 degrees, here.
Have a Fabulous Friday, Friends.
It's Weekend Eve time once again!
I can relate to that feeling! I hope you have a wonderful Christmassy weekend!Happy Weekend Eve to all!
I'm antsy today ... I have stuff to do that I want to finish so I can relax and enjoy Christmas more slowly, and I can't get started until the weekend.
Will you get to play any Christmas songs at the wedding? I hope so!! xx And I hope you get to watch all of Polar Express. I haven't watched this year yet either. Like you said, time is getting away from me! I hope you get to do plenty of Christmassing this weekend despite all the wedding activities!TGIF Christmas friends!
Next Friday will be the Christmas weekend! Wow!
This weekend is wasted with a wedding. I know; it sounds heartless of me, but this is the last weekend before Christmas, and both days are filled with wedding activities. We're not even related to them! LOL
Anyway, I watched Jim Carrey's The Grinch last night, and I plan to watch A Christmas Carol tonight. I still haven't seen the whole Polar Express yet. Time is getting away from me!
I hope y'all have a great weekend!![]()
We have had SM Spaghetti on Christmas Eve for years & years. This is the basic recipe from many years ago.Smokehouse Spaghetti sounds interesting. What is it?

I got home late yesterday (due to a late-day dental appointment), but we squeezed in a Christmas episode of Mrs. Brown before bedtime.![]()
Always!Awesome! That's good for a few chuckles before bedtime!
What a fun tradition!!!Always!
Mr. got last year's episodes on DVD from Amazon UK, and he's hidden them somewhere for now. He'll bring them out closer to Christmas to surprise me! I always look forward to seeing new episodes, even though we get them a year later than the UK via DVD.
Wow! That sounds super delicious! We have had SM Spaghetti on Christmas Eve for years & years. This is the basic recipe from many years ago.
SMOKEHOUSE SPAGHETTI
½ LB. SPAGHETTI NOODLES (COOKED & DRAINED)
1 LB. BACON (FRIED & CRUMBLED)
2 ONIONS, CHOPPED
3 LB. HAMBURGER-BROWNED
3 – 8 OZ. CANS TOMATO SAUCE
1 PINT SPAGHETTI SAUCE
½ TSP. OREGANO
½ TSP. GARLIC SALT
3 – 4 OZ. CANS MUSHROOMS W/ JUICE
½ LB. MOZZARELLA CHEESE - GRATED
½ LB. CHEDDAR CHEESE – GRATED
FRY TOGETHER BACON, HAMBURGER, & ONIONS. STIR IN TOMATO & SPAGHETTI SAUCE. ADD SALT & PEPPER TO TASTE. ADD OREGANO, GARLIC SALT, & MUSHROOMS. POUR ½ OF MIXTURE INTO GREASED BAKING DISH, TOP WITH ½ OF CHEESE, AddThe Rest Of The Mixture & Top With the rest of the cheese . Bake at 375º for 25-35 min. Uncovered.
We have tweaked it - sautéing mushrooms, onion & garlic, as well as adding some (not sautéed) right into the spaghetti. We add extra sauce, etc. We triple the batch, but use 4 lbs. of burger (not 12 lbs...) & 2 lbs. of bacon total. We use some home canned spaghetti sauce & some store bought. We also use 1 can of tomato sauce w/ basil, garlic & oregano for more flavor. And of course more garlic - real garlic!
We make this in the morning, then put it in the roaster which we turn on in the afternoon & add more sauce as needed to keep it moist. Mmm, Mmm! can't wait!!
It isWow! That sounds super delicious!

Wishful thinking...It is too early to be picking up on Santa's sleigh jingles. Given how busy Advent has been this time around, you are just hearing the bells in my batfry clanging away.** CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY 33 **

Hello My Merry Chums!
Well, Mom is out of the hospital, but not "of the woods yet"; it's hard to stay merry watching her dwindling away and knowing full well that this will likely be her last Christmas with us. I try to make my way here and stay jolly, but it's been challenging finding time to work, help my dad out and visit here. My mom's birth mom died on Boxing Day many years ago and her adoptive mom died on New Year's Day during the same season; I have a bad feeling about this family trend.
I skipped my work out this morning at the gym so I could have a little "Merry Me Time" here at the forums.
These forum pages are always a Blessing and our merry forum family is growing more year after year. I'm thankful I gave myself permission to visit today. I know I seem open with the memories I share, but I'm actually a private person and don't share my feelings that much with others.
Mom -"Jane Dear" was certainly instrumental in turning me into a Christmas Nut from a young age. I hope I have the courage to stay strong in her presence this holiday. I don't want her to know how scared and sad I am; I just want to enjoy her company and make a few more memories while we can.
I guess in some ways I am lucky to at least know that she's slipping away so if there is any "unfinished business" we can make amends with each other; not everyone gets that opportunity; I think we're good.
Trying to keep a merry thought in my head and hoping YULE do the same,
I think I have had something very similar to this, except it had no tomato sauce..they used butter. We have had SM Spaghetti on Christmas Eve for years & years. This is the basic recipe from many years ago.

That Christmas show at Dixie Stampede is just wonderful! The chicken ain't bad, either.I'm so sleepy I could go to bed now & get back up for work on Monday!
DD & I have managed to watch two Christmas movies this week: Grinch with Jim Carrey (not as bad as I remembered) & The Santa Clause. She has the second & third one ready to watch on Netflix, so we'll probably be watching them soon. DH doesn't like them, so we'll do it without him!
DD had a school field trip yesterday to watch the movie Wonder. Oh Lord, get out the tissues! There were both sad & funny parts & it moved along well. After that, all of the seventh grade students went to Cracker Barrell for lunch. Wow, that was crowded & loud! Bless the wait staff...
Today was our work Christmas lunch. DH watched the new Star Wars movie at 10:00 p.m. last night & got home at 2:00 a.m. this morning. He got up before 7:00 a.m. to go to work. I see an early bedtime for all tonight!
Busy weekend: Our & DH's parents wedding anniversaries are next Monday, so we take our annual trip to Dixie Stampede tomorrow night to celebrate. Can't wait to eat that chicken & see the show! Sunday is church x 2 & a WWE pay per view after the evening service. That will make for an early Monday morning wake up...
I hope everyone has a safe & fun weekend filled with Christmas spirit. This time next week we'll all be giddy with anticipation!
