Good morning MMC!

You know it’s been really cold when you get up in the morning and it’s -14 C (5f) and you think wow it’s nice out here!
I had no snow to brush off the van and no frost to scrape either !

After I’m done with my precious little one here and drop her off at her daycare I have to head out to the store and pick up a few things. After that hoping to get out putting away decorations.

Hoping you all have a fantastic day

It's funny how your body adapts to it. It's like 8 degrees this morning and yet I didn't feel that cold lol. And when it hits the 30s next week as they are predicting it's going to feel like spring time!

Merry Greetings and Happy Pines Day (not sure if I'll make it to the Shispering Pines gathering, but I think of that camel every Wednesday).

So, this morning one of my Christmas songs popped into my head (I wasn't even in the shower).

Searching For a Merry Feeling
Written by Auntie Mistletoe Dear Based on the tune, ‘The Little White Cloud that Cried‘, by Johnny Ray (performed once upon a time by Jamie Redfern)

I went searching for a merry feeling

I headed into the downtown core
Cedar boughs, lights and bows adorned the shops
Sale signs in every window and on every door

I went searching for a merry feeling

Spotted a couple huddled in a doorway, less fortunate than I
Carollers standing on every other corner
Heard Church Bells resonating across the sky

I went searching for a merry feeling

Headed out onto a country road
I came upon a living Nativity
The wise farmer approached, carrying a heavy load
The stranger understood what I was seeking
And this is what I was told,

“If you are searching for a merry feeling
You will search until your body turns cold.
I’m sure you know joy is something from within
Filled with the traditions and celebrations you hold dear

If it vanishes from your city
It’s up to you to keep it near.”

I went home feeling rather silly
For having doubted what I knew all along
The merry feeling we all hold deep inside
Pumps through me with a fresh new song.

I woke up from my daydream in the shower
Knowing I had to share with all my friends
The secret to keeping very merry at Christmas
Is sharing memories; I hope it never ends.
Festive Regards my Merry Friends,
A. Mistletoe

Stay warm; stay jolly!

Good Morning, Folks!

And it's quite a cold one here in our part of MMC Land. More on that later.

First and foremost is, of course, the daily count:
Days to the Season: 314
Days to Christmas Day: 356

Our first Milestone of 2018.
It's pretty close by.
Ready?
OK, then. It's the 300-day Season Window and it stands just two weeks off from this date.
Imagine that now. In just 2 short weeks, our Season count will already be down into the 200's.
How is this possible? Regular readers of this thread know!

OK. The weather. It has started off mighty cold here for the south, at 16 degress. We should get a bit warmer today than yesterday's sub-freezing high but it will still be chilly. Then, a few nights from now, we are supposed to get down to 11 degrees. Now that's COLD for these parts.

Well, today is the first Wednesday of the new year, which also means the first 'Pines open house of 2018 as well. Carl has plenty of exciting entertainment to start the new year right at our inn of choice, so plan on being there if you can.

In the meantime, you have a Wonderful Wednesday, OK?

Good morning MMC...first Pines Day of 2018! Looks like we may get 4-8 inches of snow or a bit more...who knows? Just a regular work day for me and I need to run to the grocery store to get a few things. Otherwise it should be a quiet day. Hope you all have a great day!

Thanks Crown! Winter definitely has started off with a bang this year!

I hope 2018 is better for you, Auntie.

I lost both of my parents to Alzheimer's disease 9 years apart. I was the sole caretaker for my father. It's left me with permanent recurrent anxieties.
Loosing a close family member is like getting a severe laceration. It hurts and bleeds for a while, then slowly heals over but you are left with a permanent scar.

I appreciate you sharing your experience, Crown. I have several scars on my heart from the loss of special people in my life, but the joy of memories keeps it well bandaged most of the time. This one aches real bad, but that's a good sign that mom and I had a great life together.

Picked out my outfit for Friday night, she would have liked it and wanted to borrow it. My dad is going with his off-white tux because he doesn't want to wear black. I'm already trying to cushion my emotions and brace myself for the family and friend hugs and hope I'm strong enough to read some of the messages and memories for those who can't make it in person.

In weakness; strength comes.

Good evening,

Just finished watching the Bruins win over the Islanders, sorry HMG.
I feel like I am getting into the swing of things here again, perusing the forums while snacking on my last bag of mint Kit Kat until next Christmas, these things are so good. While dealing with everything last year, I lost 45lbs due to stress from May-November, I know it wasn't the best way to lose weight, but I don't want to put it back on so once I am out of all this christmas candy I won't have to worry so much.
I hope you all have a great night.
Goodnight, everyone

I was thinking about you during the game! Congrats to your Bruins!

Good morning MMC ~
Merry Pines Day!
Well I broke down and called the doctor, I have an appointment this afternoon. I probably should have gone sooner but I was so wrapped up in the holidays. I was coughing so much last night that I ended up on the couch, I felt bad for my husband. Praying my hubby and the girls don’t catch what I have.
Snow is heading our way tomorrow, they’re saying up to 10 inches. We’ll see what happens.
I hope everyone is well and has a great day. See you tonight!
xx

Happy first Wednesday of the year!

It was about 12F when I headed out this morning, and it felt mild after the -6F yesterday! We're expecting 8 to 12 inches of snow tomorrow, and the coastal areas are expecting blizzard conditions. Ugh.
