Well that's it, everything is taken down and put away now. I did most of it on Monday, all that remained after that were two strands of lights on each of my windows and a Charlie Brown Christmas lithograph I had on my wall. But, due to some construction/repair being done to the house now, it's really just not comfortable anymore sitting around trying to keep things Christmassy while there's heavy duty work being done around you.

It's a weird feeling walking into your room or home for the first time after having taken everything down and putting it away. Everything just feels so......out of place. You have that expectation of it all still being there and all the implications that come with it. From waking up to going about your day to saying goodnight, there's just something special about doing it in the context of the holiday season. Tonight will be the first night of not having to turn off Christmas lights, and tomorrow morning will be the first morning of not turning them on. It's hard to remember what life was even like 4 months ago before the holiday wheels started turning in mid-Sept. There's always that readjustment period of getting back to life without the cushion of it almost being, being, or just having been the holidays.

I see quite a few homes in my area with decorations and lights still up though!

Anyways, Happy Wednesday everyone!

Yep, Noodlenoggin. For a while, there always seems to be a hole where the Christmas tree was.
I also took the last of our decorations (door wreaths) down today.
Everything is all carefully packed away now, for Christmas Season 2018!

I'm sitting here and my Mrs. has QVC on, and I am just dying. David is on and I look up and there's all kinds of popcorn, I look up again, there are all kinds of scones there, now he's got some guy on there cooking fish, chicken and steaks and other things....I'm starting to get the urge to go raid the refrigerator!!!!

Pleasant Wednesday wishes to everyone! So happy that Wednesday is coming to a close and it's now getting closer to the weekend. Although, we are supposed to get rain for Friday and Saturday (which will or should wipe out all that snow we got), I'm still looking forward to the weekend's arrival. We have been so busy at work, which, is a great thing, I've been getting in every day and it's been non-stop action from the time I walk in the door, till the time I leave (late, every night) but it also makes me appreciate the days off in weekend much more.

Oh my goodness, now on QVC, they just pulled out of the oven, a bacon wrapped chicken breast and a sloppy joe casserole.... I'm getting weaker!!!!

On Monday evening we had a dozen homes in the immediate neighborhood with their Christmas lights on(Yes, we were among the merry). The spirit came to life before U.S. Thanksgiving and gave one final huzzah for the season two days after Epiphany. It doesn't get any better than that.
I am the last one standing with my lights on my street, I am thinking Sunday night will be the last night for my outdoor lights.

Good evening,

I should be heading back to work tomorrow, I did my usual Wednesday errands and had my psychologist appointment today. After I had that I went out and perused through the stores to see what is remaining for Christmas clearance, I found nothing to my liking. CVS had a lot of Christmas candy, but I held strong and didn't buy any as tempting as it was. I am worried about this rain storm we are supposed to get Friday into Saturday, they are predicting 2-3 inches of rain, that with the melting snow means the basement will most likely be flooding. It is always something, I would rather get 2-3 feet of snow than all that rain.
I hope you all had a great day
Goodnight, everyone

And if you're somebody who embraces the whole of the season, like many here have said before, by the time one is over, it's really not that long until the next one starts up again!

I'm with you on this, I'd always rather have snow than rain this time of year, as rain turns to icy roads and sidewalks as soon as the temperature drops again.

Good morning ~
Happy Thursday!
It’s going to be cloudy and warmer today, highs near 47 degrees. I have an appointment this morning to have my hair cut and colored. Back home afterward to work on my daily chores. Dinner will be fried chicken and homemade macaroni & cheese. That’s about it for me. Hope everyone is well. Have a great day!!!
xx

Before you know it we'll all be here talking about "where has the year gone" and be back in the Bers getting ready for all the holidays.

Morning MMC! Well I almost forgot how long a 5 day work week was. It's only Thursday? Almost feels like it should be Friday haha. It should be a mild day here which I will take in January. My mom decided she want to get a new tree so I'm going to try to pick one up for her (obviously a fake one) 70% off. They still have a bunch. Her's is basically starting to lean over. It's decades old. Let's put it that way. Have a great Friday Eve!

Good Morning, Folks.

Continuing to move right on through January.
This month and February are always the toughest for me. The holidays are over, but cold weather persists.
March brings hope and April usually brings a guarantee of no more freezes.

What else brings us hope?
Well, this might help:
Days to the Season: 306
Days to Christmas Day: 348

Not enough?
Then try this: The 300-Day Season Window is now only SIX days away.
Less than a week!
(We are moving along briskly, already!)

Real nice indeed here for January, with yesterday's high reaching 61.
The prediction for today is 64 with 71 for tomorrow.
Wow!
(Of course by Sunday we are supposed to get down to 19, but that's another story I would just as soon not think about!)
We are at 48 degrees here, right now, under a threat of rain.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, Everybody.
It's Weekend Eve tomorrow!

Thanks Crown! We're on the same page about January and February being our least favorite months but it's nice still seeing those Christmas lights out there!

Happy Thursday!
Just work for me today and catching up on laundry tonight.
Last night I noticed a couple of less houses lit up but my immediate neighbors still have theirs going strong. They usually keep them on until the end of the month.
My oldest is "craving" pasta so I am going to make homemade mac and cheese or fettucine alfredo..I will have to decide later.

Hope you all have a great day!

When I get a stubborn headache that I can't get rid of, I resort to Excedrin Migraine, and that usually helps. It takes a while for it to kick in, but it often gets rid of it and keeps it from coming back in a few hours.
Thanks! I have never taken that. I'll have to look into it. We have some sinus stuff here at work that really seems to help stubborn headaches, but it didn't touch it yesterday. I just took 2 this morning. My headache is much better but still lingering just a little!

You're the best Crown, thank you for coaching us through the countdown!

I was wondering where you were! I'm so sorry to hear you came down with the flu, I hope you're back to feeling 100% very, very soon. My darn cough is still lingering, I can't seem to shake it.
I love the picture of Lucy, she is the cutest!
Take good care Holiday!
xo

hope you're feeling better now!
Thanks! I do feel better - much better. Just not 100% yet! Hopefully by the end of the day I will be!! :)

Good Wednesday afternoon, Christmas friends!

Another busy day here. The boss visited from his office near Orlando yesterday and today. It's been so hard to get used to Russell not being here, that it was nice for Ron to sit in his office and offer advice & encouragement. He just left for home.

Seafood dinner with Nancy's family tomorrow night!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
Nice of the boss to come in & spend some time with the people who are missing Russell!
Enjoy your meal tonight! Have a good day!

Good morning MMC! Merry Friday Eve!! It's a dreary, WARM day here! We broke a record high yesterday - we hit 59º. The record was 58, set in 1975! Crazy!

Well, our forecast for 8-12" of snow is now down to 1-3"! Go figure!! It starts as freezing rain, which I can do without, for sure!!!

I hope everyone's Thursday is off to a good start!!
