Christmas Countdown - 2018

Some people watch Christmas movies,music, make a new cookie they want to try etc. My biggest 24th drops on the closest weekend in July to it. I throw the CIJ 3 family pig roast. (Which changes this year to 1 deep fried turkey, 2 oven turkeys, 2 hams,1 huge brisket.) It kind of just boils down to finding your own "thing" to celebrate however you see fit.

My kids are off from school and they are saying we may get 2-4 inches, we'll see but at least it is not too cold out there.
Just work for me today and I making a roast in the crockpot.

Rise, shine, gobble up that fired twinkie (you can get more tonight at the 'Pines) sit back, and enjoy the latest numbers, all the while celebrating our first Milestone Day of 2018!

Days to Christmas Day: 342
IT--IS--HERE! Our first marker of the 2018 Countdown season.
The 300-Day Season Window!
And tomorrow? We start a 200's level count to our beloved and much-coveted Christmas Season.
(What an exciting start to 'Pines Day!)
Well, were supposed to awake to the white stuff here this morning but there's not a flake in sight. That is predicted to change shortly, however.
Yet our current temperature is 36 degrees, not conducive to much of a snowfall!
Tonight? Down into the teens so anything that might come down today will freeze solid overnight.
But snow or no snow, ice or no ice, guards or no g...... (no, that's from something else) Carl is ready and waiting at the beautiful Shispering Pines double front doors with that first complimentary fired twinkie and glass of sweet southern iced tea.
There is new (and as yet unspecifed) entertainment in store for 2018 as well, so be sure to drop by to see what our friendly activities director has planned.
In the interim, you be certain to have a Wonderful Wednesday, OK?

Good morning MMC! Merry Pines Day!!! And another COLD one it is!! It's snowing a bit again this morning. So pretty! I'm surprised how much it's been snowing with it being so cold!! But I'll take it!! 
Not much up for today except work! Oh, Lucy goes to the beauty parlor at lunch. (Brrrrr) And I have Mom & Marie's grocery list! That's about it!

Last year I planned ahead and saved all my Christmas magazines to enjoy on the 24th of each month. For the 25th and if time permits, I have Christmas movies to watch I've never seen and I'll make a new dish or two to enjoy while watching.

I listen to an episode of the Christmas Stocking podcast every month on the 25th to mark the day. I do that January through October. Once we reach November 25, I lay off. We’re into the holidays already and fresh new episodes of the podcast will be starting any day!

Happy Wednesday to everyone!
We're expecting 4 or 5 inches of snow here throughout the day, with a freeze-up in the afternoon, so I opted to work at home today. Local schools are open, so I guess I'm a wimp, but I don't like slipping and sliding when I'm driving.

We’re expecting rain mixed with snow today, temperatures in the upper 30’s. Not too much going on here, I’ll just be working on some chores around the house and playing with the puppy. Still no puppy name, but we’lre going to make a decision today. Dinner will be spaghetti & meatballs and mozzarella bread.
