Christmas Countdown - 2018

Good morning MMC ~
Happy Thursday!
It’s going to be sunny & chilly today with highs near 34 degrees. Not too much going on here, the puppy has his first vet appointment this morning. We decided his name will definitely be Rocky. The little stinker is really coming out of his shell, he was a lunatic last night. I forgot how sharp puppy teeth are!

Good Morning!
Well, did everyone get stoned yesterday?
(Milestoned, that is.)

Yep, in case you missed it, we passed a major Milestone yesterday and a reading of today's numbers should tell you which one it was:
Days to the Season: 299
Days to Christmas Day: 341

That's right. That "299" tells us that yesterday's marker was the 300-Day Season Window.
(Wow! Already down into the 200's. Gee!)


Well, winter definitely made its presence felt yesterday as we accumulated about 5" of snow. Some areas got over 10.
We were over freezing for most of the day, so not as much accumulated on the streets as it could, but driving is still a challenge for anyone brave enough to attempt it. It is quite bright out this morning, however, since sun is shining and reflecting off the snow.
We have started off at a frigid 16 degrees, so there will be no melting until this afternoon, when we are supposed to reach 38 degrees.

It was 19°F when I got to work this morning. We can't pour concrete in this weather, but it's supposed to get into the 40's later, so we'll see.

Good morning MMC! Guess what??? It's FRIDAY EVE!!! Woo Hoo! It's supposed to warm up today - a high of 29 is predicted! Right now it's 14 & windy & BRRRRR!! The roads were slick in spots coming in to work b/c of the blowing snow! It's supposed to be 50º by Monday so it will all be gone!! Booo!

Hubby came home sick with the flu bug last night. Round #2! It's so bad this year!! I slept on the couch last night. Hope I don't get it again!! Blah! Wish I could have stayed home today w/ him & Lucy, but not b/c of being sick!!! Thankfully, tomorrow is Friday!!

Check you pet store for a ball called a Bomber ball for dogs. They are orange with a rough texture, has handles on each side and come in different sizes. They are GREAT for puppies and dogs that like to chew. Its the only ball our dog hasn't been able to destroy and she has been chewing on this since she was 6 months old, she is 2 now.

It's difficult to imagine that people treat animals so poorly. I realize there's a bit of irony there, since I enjoy hunting, but I always make sure my efforts are as quick and humane as possible, and nothing is wasted.

Pets are especially heartbreaking. Who could be so terrible to a dog or cat? I'm glad this person is working for them!

I too am glad this person is working for them!!

I could never be a hunter myself, but we do need hunters out there ~ no doubt! Pets are a different story! (we need a hunter to get the mountain lion who has been hanging around here & killing our livestock/pets! )

Busy day for me today. I spent a lot of time making phone calls, waiting on hold, or playing phone tag. Aggravating, but at least I spoke to real people and I got everything I wanted to get done finished.

Morning MMC. Was a long day yesterday (or felt like it). Today hoping it's a little better. Wasn't bad though and went to Chinese Buffet for dinner. Good stuff. Rollins and I went to bed early last night. Hope it will give me some good energy today. Hope you all enjoy your Pre-Friday.

Awe ~ I love that Rocky is coming out of his shell!! He's getting comfortable in his new home!! Love the name too! Can't wait to hear about all his adventures! And yes - OH THOSE TEETH!!! They hurt!!! Lucy has 1 baby tooth to lose yet!!! xx I hope his 1st vet appointment goes well!!! Let us know!! Have a great day HMG!

The flu bug is going around crazy here, especially in my youngest daughter's school. They have 2 teams for 6th grade. And one team had 55 out of 85 kids out with the flu bug or stomach thing and 3 out of the 4 teachers.
Knock on wood, we have been ok!

We got a few inches yesterday, but the roads were well cleared and treated this morning, thank goodness. Just had to watch out for a few icy spots and take it easy in our immediate neighborhood, where they scraped off the layer of snow and left ruts of frozen slush.
