Christmas Countdown - 2018

Mama called me yesterday afternoon in a panic. She had spilled a pot of boiling water on herself and needed to come help. I flew to her house, but by the time I got there, she had calmed a bit. Luckily, she was wearing jeans which deflected most of the water, and her legs weren't really even red. She had jumped in a cold shower as soon as it happened, so she was ok. I took her to the pharmacy and got some lidocaine spray, which helped. Whew, scary!

I am normally right with you on thinking about the bers and skipping summer as I don't like the heat/humidity but I am actually looking forward to the summer this year. We are joining a local Sportsmans club and they have a lake for swimming that the family is excited to use this year. We applied to be members a couple years ago and just got our approval to join.

And then this weekend more of a relaxing one hopefully. It should be. But it's going to be 50s on Saturday with sunshine. I'm definitely going to want to be out in that weather. I finished up a double presentation, chowed a mid day Friday Feast, and have to wrap up the work week, head home, and order a couple of scrumptious pan pizzas for supper. The only question is will we also order Goulda mac 'n' cheese, with tomato, onion, and drizzled BBQ sauce for one of our weekend lunches. Then there's the possibility of tiramisu for dessert...

Looking forward to a special film show this weekend at the Boston MFA---two Laurel & Hardy comedies recently restored by UCLA. In 35mm, NOT digital projection! Otherwise, just the usual weekend routine, hopefully including some crochet time. I just bought a mess of yarn so I could start a new project when I finish the lap robe I'm working on.

Good morning MMC! Merry Friday & TGIF!! And a warm TGIF it's going to be. Sun is already shining!! High of 52 predicted for today! Craziness!

Anybody have fun plans for the weekend? I am taking the Amish home this afternoon. Tonight we are going out to eat at BW3's with my SIL's & their hubby's. My MIL/FIL always give us a gift cert. to eat there every year for Christmas. I am just not a fan of their food. But I'll enjoy the company! ;) Other than that, we don't have many plans! Supposed to be a rainy day tomorrow! Ho hum!

Did anybody do anything fun for Rudolph Day?? I got my winter tree decked out! I had some frosted purple decs at home & I had picked up some more thinking they were winterish looking, but I think on my tree I need to stick to blue & silver. I do have 2 red cardinals on the tree too. Anyway, this is how it's going to stay for this winter & next Christmas I'll look for a more blue/silver things. I also ordered a snowflake tree topper.

How are you posting the photos? If they're in your Media photos, you can post them using the same links you posted above: Place your cursor where you want the picture to appear; click the Image icon (looks like a little picture in a frame), paste in the link, and click Insert. That should work ...
